Mikajia
Mikajia was bored, wandering the streets of Oak, and that’s when he saw the job posting. It seemed fairly straight forward, although lacking in a few details. The important part was that it said to head to Castle Phantasm, where he would meet with the client, to receive further details. He smirked slightly, thinking back to his previous job for the Phantasm family. Their eldest son had temporarily employed his services to put their guards through an intense evening training regimen. After which, Mikajia had left every single guard with at least one broken bone to remember him by.

He had to admit a certain level of curiosity as to which family member he would be dealing with this time. No matter who it was though, he sincerely hoped the job would at least be marginally entertaining. He would still complete the job, regardless of how much fun he had, the difference was whether he would continue to work with the family after this point or not. Typically, he only returned to boring or uninteresting clients if he had absolutely no other choice in the matter. There had been some jobs he’d taken in the past that had nearly caused him to literally fall asleep, due to boredom. He really didn’t need to be dealing with anything like that anymore.

As he approached the large castle for the second time, he noticed a couple of guards placed outside of the gate, surrounding the castle grounds. As he approached, they told him to halt and identify himself. Mikajia took note of how differently the guards were behaving compared to the last time he was here. There was a general sense of laziness in the guards, coupled with a relative lack of concern with the well being of the castle and its inhabitants.

Mikajia
This time however, was completely different. The guards went from viewing this as just another job, to something much more serious and life-threatening. Apparently, Sirius Phantasm, the eldest son and man that had hired Mikajia to beat the ever-living shit out of his guards, had succeeded in getting the guards to take their job much more seriously. When Mikajia came a bit closer, both of the guards stopped, their eyes widening with fear as he came into view. They recognized him instantly, and snapped to attention, their bodies shaking from the remembered beating he had given them during his training session.

He told them to relax, he was there on business, but it wasn’t from the eldest son. Another member of the Phantasm family had hired him for a different task. The two guards visibly relaxed and nodded, before letting him in through the gate. Mikajia just smirked at their reactions as he walked on through onto the grounds. It didn’t take him too long to make his way up to the castle; once at the door, a butler greeted him and asked him why he was there. He informed the butler of the situation, and he asked Mikajia to wait while he fetched the member responsible for the job request.

Shortly after that, he was greeted by Minerva Phantasm, the youngest sibling of the Phantasm family. Once greeted, she wasted no time in explaining the request in full. Apparently, there was a contract she needed signed, but felt it was beneath her to haggle the finer details of the contract with a merchant, so she hired someone to capture and intimidate the merchant into signing the final deal; this one heavily favoring her. It was simple enough, and all he had to do was make sure the man didn’t die.

Mikajia
He asked her a few more questions, clarifying who he would be capturing, and where the deal was supposed to go down. Once he was properly informed, Mikajia nodded to the lady, promising a speedy return. She was very pleased with his answer and gave him a small nod of her head. She informed Mikajia that he was to attack and capture the merchant while the deal was actually in progress. So once they left the castle, Mikajia set up a good vantage point in the warehouse, waiting for the man to show. They only had to wait another twenty minutes for the man to show his face.

However, that was twenty minutes too long for Minerva, and she was already chewing the man out for his lack of punctuality. The merchant didn’t take kindly to her words, and was threatening to leave. That’s when Mikajia pounced. If the man left, then the entire job would go up in flames. It wasn’t a particularly lucrative job, he could certainly take better paying ones, but he wasn’t one to pass up on such easy money. He quickly subdued the man with one of his chains, reeling him in and dragging him to a room he had prepared in the warehouse.

It didn’t take him too long to break the man’s willpower. Though he had seemed stubborn and confident at first, it had taken only a few minutes of simply punching him a few times for him to start begging for Mikajia to stop. He was honestly surprised. He hadn’t even punched the guy in the face, or even used a full strength hit. Apparently the man’s confidence and bravado was misplaced and undeserving. He had known young men to possess higher pain tolerances and actual determination to stick to their convictions. This guy just gave up in a matter of a couple minutes of a few medium strength punches. It was pathetic.

Seeing how quickly the man had caved, Mikajia lost all fire for this job, and just handed the form to the man to sign. He did so eagerly, thinking Mikajia would hit him again if he didn’t. Honestly, he had no desire to. He was so put out by the man’s utter lack of vigor or determination, he wanted nothing more than to have the guy leave his site. He returned the signed form to a pleased Minerva, took his payment, and headed home.
