ManaCastle Phantasm knew to expect the Lich, as he made his way through what was quickly becoming his city. His steps made little to no sound as he glided towards the building that had long stood as the symbol of Oak City's power and nobility. However that was soon about to change. Today the seat of power in Oak was moving to under new management. Eternal Nightmare was now in Oak, and they were going to control the city. Duke Phantasm and his family could either accept that fact or be left in the annals of history. The choice was theirs to make.
The reason why the duke knew to expect him had nothing to do with a planned meeting between the two heads. Odin had not had a letter delivered to the castle, nor had he liaised with Servas to arrange a time and place. Odin had decided today to make his move upon the family, so today he decided to walk in on them. Along the way he was spotted by guards, informants and civilians. By the time he reached the castle gates, he was welcomed in by the butler and a couple of maids, and delivered to a table where he would meet the Duke himself.
It would be some hours before Servas actually arrived himself, and in that time Odin saw four different sets of spies keep an eye on him, with some of them even being so bold as to cast spells or train their guns on his location. They were lucky that Odin was not there for bloodshed, otherwise the rivers running through the city would have run read that day. Servas arrived and read the scroll that the Lich had brought. It detailed how their new 'alliance' would operate. Odin would provide the family with some substantial funds that he could procure from his business in the Swineherd Pub, and they would look the other way on any and all illegal activity. A nod and a handshake would cement their future, and Odin would be free to leave without issue.
