Nuala

Rania Okano was enjoying herself in Marigold Town; the small village was oddly populated during the summer seasons, and there were more people around than she’d expected there to be! Marigold was a decently small place, with lovable citizens and a calming and relaxing atmosphere. It made perfect sense to the Paladin that people from all across the country enjoyed coming here to take a step back and relax for a bit and she’d been doing the same.

Rania had spent more time in Marigold than she had intended and it had almost been two months already. It was not like anyone was waiting for the young woman back home in Magnolia anyways though, so there really wasn’t an issue with her trip to the south. If anything, she had learned a few valuable lessons here and even met a few interesting people. Unfortunately, Rania wasn’t good at making friends and even though she was kind and likable enough, it seemed that she was also simultaneously difficult to approach. As a result, the woman from Desierto was more of a loner.

Oddly enough this was nothing that kept her from finding suitable jobs for herself though. The skilled healer had made it a habit to simply visit the local hospital or doctor’s office to see if they needed any help. Her magical healing skills often came in handy and while healers weren’t necessarily “rare” anymore, it was always nice to have someone like a Paladin around to use their magic on people. Nuala had been working as a nurse for some time now and it seemed that the young woman had settled just fine in Marigold. The south was a decent place to be at and even after living in Magnolia for so long, Rania enjoyed her time away from what she considered home. It was nice to try something different for once.

Of course Marigold had its own issues. It used to be quite the cultural city, a place where many people would visit and gather to visit the local theatre for example. Unfortunately the theatre had suffered quite a lot of damage under the recent attacks and demonic incursions and it seemed as though traffic had slowed down at the Marigold theatre ever since then. Nuala had heard that they were always looking for people to help out at the theatre, be it with repairing the stage and building new sets or even helping in a play itself. They wanted to restore the theatres former glory in the hopes of finding their plays sold out again all across the country and Rania firmly believed that this would be possible.

There were a lot of dedicated people involved after all! In fact, this would be Rania’s job for the day. She had been looking for work that was a bit different from the usual hospital work and found it in from of theatre work. Of course Rania wasn’t much of an actress, but she would find other ways to assist the actors and actresses. There was a huge play planned and from what she had heard, many of the tickets were sold out already! Clearly the citizens of Marigold weren’t the only ones that were excited for an epic comeback of the theatre and Rania could understand why that was the case.

The cultural aspect of Marigold is what allowed the town to keep up with the rest of the country and even though the city itself couldn’t host a crazy amount of visitors, they still somewhat dependent on tourism. Besides, it was summer time and what better way to lure people in than now? Rania arrived at the theatre with a big smile on her face. The young woman really enjoyed working here, for she had done so in the past and it had always been a pretty good experience. The staff were kind, the actors and actresses weren’t in any way arrogant or difficult to deal with and the overall atmosphere was simply nice and enjoyable. And since Rania had frequented the theatre before, she already knew her way around. She didn’t know yet what her tasks would be for the day, but there were different things she had assisted with before.

There was even a time when she made use of her healing skills to help the actors with some stage fright. Another time she taught them an exotic dance from the country she was born it. It seemed that no matter what, they would never run out of things to do and she would find a way to help. It seemed that today would be one of those days again that would be more simple. Rania was approached by one of the managers that were planning the next play. The play itself was actually surprisingly big and they were building a whole new stage with new props and everything for it. It took a lot of effort because they tried making the scenes very realistic, as much as possible.

Unfortunately, because building the stage was difficult and it was summertime after all, the weather was really hot and some of the workers weren’t feeling too well. Rania was informed that there had been a few minor injuries and she was tasked with helping those in need and keeping a look out for everyone who might suffer under the current circumstances. Rania then proceeded to approach some of the workers and began helping them out. Luckily the majority of them was only suffering from minor cuts, all of which she could easily heal using her magic, without exhausting herself on top of it.

She spent most of her day doing this. In one case there was even a younger boy who had volunteered but had to stop due to feeling feverish. Rania’s magic came in fairly handy in most of these cases, but luckily there weren’t too many. She spent the rest of her day like this until it was the end of the day and people finally finished their shifts. Rania was then paid a handsome sum of money for her services, which she gladly accepted before going home.
