Venus found requests from Giuliano rather strange, but also, interesting compared to the ones she usually takes. The other day, she received a letter underneath the door with her name engraved to her villa, a place she was sharing with some of her guildmates. In the letter was a simple message that requested her assistance to accompany Luca and help him perform his heroic deeds since his father had to leave town for a business trip. As ridiculous as it sounded, Venus was quite disappointed that she wouldn’t see the dashing face of Giuliano again for this quest but instead she would be stuck with his idiot child.

”For the money, Vee. For the money,” she’d say to herself as if it was chant that she’d been reciting.

And so, when the new day begins, she would have to travel to the Magnolia streets to meet Luca, her client of the day. Never leaving her house without her weapon, she equipped herself in her complete attire; armour and all accessories that she had with her sword sheathed over her back. Unsure whether the day will go perfectly fine or turn the complete opposite, she departed the villa, fingers crossed whilst she prayed to the Gods above for the best.

The villa was located to the piazza of the town, so it took her no longer than a few minutes to travel to the town square where she would meet the kid. Her instant reaction at the sight of children would be a deep frown, almost with a strong distaste. It was clear as day that Venus disliked children, perhaps ‘hate’ might even be the perfect word for her towards those tiny little creatures that she would call the spawns of Satan. Seeing Luca dressed in a superhero costume reminded her the reason of why she disliked children, and how frustrating they were.

”Look at my superhero costume!” The boy raved excitedly as she showed off his cape in a twirl as soon as Venus approached towards him. She was glad Luca easily recognized her, although that was only due to

”Wonderful, you look just like a superhero.” Venus bit the inside of her lips forcing a stiffs smile as she tried to hide the obvious sarcasm in the tone of her voice. ”Alright boy, how’d you intend on helping these people with your magic?” All she had to do was play along with his imagination for the day, so she figured she should listen to what he plans to do so that it all goes according to his wishes.

”I wanna be a superhero and help everyone with everything!” – was all he said. That would be the most briefest description for a request she’s ever heard in her life. Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance from his very simple response, but she’d only nod, pressing herself to not let her frustrations pass her lips.

”Okay then.” She decided she would just play along with his silly imaginations. ”Well, before we start, let’s learn some gestures to cast spells, shall we?” The boy looked up at her and nodded and she could already see the excitement within his eyes. Despite her massive dislike for children, she couldn’t deny that they were adorable at times.

And so, the Siren would put on a display of her most frequently used gestures, such as snapping fingers, tapping her feet, extending her hands and Luca would patiently follow her directions. ”Well done! You’re good to go, let’s save some lives!” She threw her hands up in the air and as they began walking, she’d try to find the things that required the least effort but would also deceive the child enough to think that he was actually using magic.

The first thing that Venus noticed was the cat that was stuck on a tree and figured that it would be an easy task for Luca to believe that he was a hero by saving a mere cat. ”Alright, Luca. See the cat up there? It needs your help. Now show me what you got,” said the female, hyping up the seven year old child as she stared up at the cat purring from a tree branch. How was she supposed to help him save the cat? She snapped her fingers the moment she came up with an idea and began, ”Snap your fingers when you’re ready, Luca and remember what I told you – concentrate!”

The hunter would snap her fingers at the same time Luca did, summoning a pair of icy wings behind his back to lift him up into the sky. He squealed from the excitement as the child he was and when he was lifted to a certain height he held the terrified cat in his arms as he brought him back down. With another snap of her fingers, the ice wings dissipated behind Luca and as he set the cat down, he would jump up and down with big enthusiasm written all over his face. ”Did you see what I did?! That was so cool!” The woman simply smiled and nodded – she just wanted this to be over with. ”Great job, now let’s move.”

The next task she had for Luca was also a rather simple one, which was to help a man who was waiting by the side of the streets for some kind of assistance. When Venus talked to him, he’d explain about how he had broken one of the wheels of his carriage and needed help to deliver the goods to the destination. Well, she didn’t have the time to spend an entire day delivering goods so the fastest solution she could come up with was to summon a magical wheel in place of the broken one. She’d tell Luca to do so, performing actions to cast the spell and Venus would take action out of sight instead of him.

The final mission for Luca would be the most difficult one for him. It required stealth for they were trying to stop a beggar from robbing another man in an alleyway. Thankfully, Venus was the one to witness it. She was all about getting rich and stealing things from people, unless it harms the innocent ones. So she’d tell Luca to chase the man and the Siren would make it easier for him by summoning a layer of ice beneath the thief causing him to slip and fall on his face. They turned him into the knights and once the deed was done, it was finally time for her to send Luca back home. It wasn’t so much of an exciting day, although she’s learnt that children weren’t so bad after all.
