She was not sure of why exactly she had been called forward here. It would have made more sense for her to be less engaged or involved with the affairs of the Rune Knights, especially given how volatile and unstable things were presently set between the Rune Knights and the Holy Knights that Augusta was loyal towards. It perhaps was in her favor that the Rune Knights, not just those who were stationed within Orchidia, which based upon her own experiences made her believe and come to know that they were far from the most competent or capable of the Rune Knights that she may have encountered in the past, but also those Rune Knights throughout nearly all of Fiore, were blissfully unaware of just who she was. That worked all the better for Augusta, as the less that was known about her, the more she would be able to move freely throughout the nation, and while there would be some questions as to her, reason enough to be worried about her, and likewise reason enough for her to be worried and concerned on her own for her own safety, it was a mutually benefcitial relationship in which she was able to capitalize on and not have to deal with anything beyond just occcassional encounters and interactions that would not have any direct risk put upon Augusta, and that was ideal. The less that she might have had to deal with, the less there stood a chance for her to be discovered, especially by the Rune Knights, it was all the more advantageous, and something that would enable for her to continue to understand more of the areas of Fiore, to better acquire information and prepare herself for when it would eventually come time for her to proceed with her legions moving through and conquering all of Fiore. And of what she was seeing so far of Orchidia, it was something that looked more and more like it would be an easy place to start with, something that up to this point, she had little reason to think that there would much of a challenge in conquering and razing this place to the ground. That would have to wait though, as for as much as she would have wanted to go ahead and just begin her crusade, wiping out each city possibly, from Crocus to Hargeon to Era to Magnolia, it would have to wait, as the amount of time to acquire enough information as well as to assemble her forces, ensure that there were no obstacles, and things of that nature, were far too many for her to possibly prepare for in the immediate future. It would take months, for probably each of those factors to come to light and make such an ambitious goal at all possible. Worse yet, would be how limited Augusta would be in assembling her forces. She had been given legions of troops before, but to assemble them within Fiore’s rank, would be challenging.

In the meanwhile, she would be expected to simply engage and be among the people of Fiore, biding her time and just waiting until she would get just what she wanted, what she was determined to see carry to light, and once that would happen, it would something that she would excitedly carry out, with all the fervor and dedication that she done time and time again, with no fear or concern in either herself or that of her legions that followed. Only those who would challenge her would have reason to panic and fear, and they would come to fear, as she would leave nothing left of Fiore outside of a nation in which the Holy Knights fully and utterly ruled, where Augusta’s reign would be the law an dthose who challenged it would suffer the same fate as those who might consider themselves foolish enough to challenge her, and like everyone in the past who had done this, they would all suffer the same inevitable fate, with no variation, no likelihood of receiving mercy. The people of Fiore do not deserve mercy, but rather deserve the death and agony that has long been overdue to them. In time that would come, in time. Right now though, she was doing her part to “help” the people of Orchdiia, in this time agreeing to assist with something that seemed very strange, at least fo rhte fact that it would not normally be something that the people would typically be engaged in. Rather, it was something that felt like it whouls have been something left only to the Rune Knights, yet as time went and Augusta spent more an more time within the city, she had enough knowledge to know that the Rune Knights were not the most impressive group of a force that she had seen in any sort of city, and there was nothing to make her believe that this was going to be anything different. It was easy enough to believe that the Ruen Knights were just a poor unit, maybe that of a group of people hwo were thrown together as ameans of trying to impose peace and order to a city, but it was hard to believe that ti was so simple. It was a systemic issue that was hard to argue that the lacking of confidence and skill of the Rune Knights made it such that they were only barely there in name and spirit than in presence more so. There for it made sense that having others who were proven to be cpable help assist them in matters, and as Augusta would ultimately come to find out, this was a matter that there was no reason to velieve that the Ruen Knights could have actually done on their own. They were going to have needed a lot of help on this, and to have Augusta on this, while it went against her own personal beliefs, it would be great in building up a repour.

She had been asked to arrive out and meet up and several Rune Knights, who all seemed too similar to what she was used to at this point by the Rune Knights of Fiore. They were clearly out of their element, not sused to being engaged in serious efforts and more acting as fictious figure heads meant to represent some sort of order. They all varied, one of them being an older gentleman, his white hairs and beards making it clear that he had no business being here still as a Rune Knight, that his hage was far more of a detriment than anything else and yet here he was. The other one was one who looked to be some what capable, a man who was of average height, having a build that was hardly impressive, though at the same time being something that was a bit lackluster if anything else. He made sense being out here, as he was perhaps the closest thing to a real rune knight, though he did not impress on any level, and if things came to a ehad, while he might have been the greatest threat, he would not be someone who Augusta herself would have had to be worried about. Then there was another rune knight, a young woman who seemed to be out of her element, even more than that of the old man. She was young, arguably younger if not the same age maybe of Augusta, and yet she seemed to be utterly consumed in the armor that the Ruen Knights were expected to wear, making her appear all the more undeserving of being out here. One could have made the argument that she were a child that had stolen the gear and it was too big on her and it would be a genuine argument that could have been made. It was funny, though disappointing at the same time. But more than anything else, it further reinforced what Augusta had come to believe about the Rune Knights, that they were a bunch of run off fools and failures who did not deserve to be the Rune Knights, who would be crushed under her boot and made Augusta even more believe that she could have conquered Orhcidia now without serious issue or challenge. If the idea was that she was supposed to work with this group and help them, it felt like she would have been better off just doing this all on her own rather than relying on them because right now, from what she could see, she was the only person who had any sort of hope and talent or capability for that matter as far as dealing with something like this. If this was the best that they had to fofer, it meant either that this was a job that she did not need to be here for, or otherwise it was something that spoke even more to that of the status of the Orchidia Rune Knights collectively.

Apparently there had been something which happened that had required the amount of people in addition to Augusta’s presence, though they were purposely vague as to why it was that they were in need of huge help. Once the trio and Augusta began to walk towards a part of the icty, they had begun to explain to her that there had been some murders which had taken place within the city, some of which were done by someone who was unknown but had some familiarity as far as how to go about making sure that they are not caught. According to the older of the rune Knights, there was no evidence left at any of the scenes, and what evidence there might have been was nothing in which could have been used to single out any person in particular. It meant that there were far more issues and concerns than what the Rune Knights could have been able to take care, especially given how understaffed and undermanned it seemed that they were. As Augusta was certain of at this point, these were far from the best Rune Knights, and no doubt that if there were some sort of evidence that may have existed, this was far from the group that would be equipped or able to handle the task. And though at first Augusta may have believed that there may have been some level of truth to that, she was not convinced, still believing that there may have been far more on the fault of the rune knights than that of anything else, but as they went and visited the crime scenes, the truth began to become a bit more clear. The first one was an alleyway, one that appeared to have been constantly filled with people who had been living here, which was not a huge shocker given the fact that there no shortage of people who Augusta has seen at this point who were living on the street, and this alleyway was clearly no exception. If anything, this appeared to be one where more of them lived in than anything else, just given how bad it smelled, how many remains of people living were here, and factors like that. To believe that there may have been any sort of evidence here was a wishful prospect, but it was hard to imagine and believe that it was really going to be anything that was worth finding, even if there had been a group of rune knights who might have had some level of talent in them. It was messy, dirty, very little light had managed to penetrate through here, and at night she had to have imagined that there was almost no chance that anyone would have been able to see what was going on, thereby removing any chance that there were any witnesses, and even if there may have been, again it was a question of the status of how much could the homeless be trusted in this.

The second spot was one that was a bit better off than the first one, it wasn’t as terrible of an alleyway location, but it was far from that of something that should have been impressive. Deep within one of the more abandoned parts of Orchdiia, it looked like an animal had been running around, things that were ripped apart and thrown about as though someone had been lifting it and taking whatever that they could. If this was in fact a crime scene, it was apparent that there were no efforts that were made as far as trying to make sure that the scene was not ruined or impeded. If anything, it was all the more ruined and destroyed, not just by whomever or what ever might have been running through, but also by the people including those of the rune knights who were walking around, holding no regard at all towards that of the crime scene itself. The female eknight was walking about, pushing things out of the way, making no regard at all as though there might have been something that was worth preserving or not. That did not matter ot her which made Augusta wonder something, as it was something that she had noticed before as well when it came to the other crime scene that made her believe that either this was a vagrant amount of disrespect that was unseen and should not have been approvable by any set of standard or if it might have been a dileberate action that was being taken by her in order to blend things in the crieme scene and make it even more difficult than otherwise. Augusta kept her mouth silent as she simply looked around, hoping to find something that she might have ben able ot take away from this, and yet, there was nothing that they could have given her. She asked who it was that died and what was the cause of death, and the older man was saying that it was someone who was homeless and they were not celear as to what it was that killed them. This frustrated Augusta and so she instead asked if it was known whether it was something that may have slashed, hit, or something like that, perhaps then at least she would be able to narrow things out. A slash would be indicative of a number of weapons, but it was less so than that of a blunt weapon, which could have been a mace, a hammer, fists, a rock, too many things which would have allowed for a greater variety of things that it may have been, and therefore it was all the more important for her to go ahead and determine just what it would be that would have been enough to allow her to narrow down a possible list of suspects as well as she could have. Yet, the fact was if so little was available right now, and with this group, she wasn’t hopeful.

There was a good bit of silence until the rune knights finally gave her some sort of information, letting he rknow that it seemed at least that it looked like there had been some slashes, both on this crime scene as well as the other one. When asked about that crime, the first one in the alleyway, they explained it was also that of a homeless person, which unfortunately did not do much as far as narrowing down the list of suspects or even that of the potential victims. There are far too many right now within Orchidia, both the homeless people as well as those who have enough of a reason to attack the homeless to make it as though there were a huge pool of possible victimrs and accusers. There was something else though that she wanted to consider, something else that she felt that there might have been a case of simply they failed to recognize that there was any sort of pattern, to which she was able to come to determine on her own. She asked when the first crime had taken place, and they said that it took place 4 days ago, late at night. Then she asked about the second crime and when it happened, and they said that it was 2 days ago at night, which by all logic dictated that if there was going to be another murder, it was likely that they would end up happening tonight. The only real question was that there would be a murder, but rather where it was that the murder would take place. Both locations had been a place where homeless people had been living in, and it was just a question really of knowing whether or not it would be the same place or not. Yet, it was very clear that that the murder would end up being in one of those locations, and though it did take a bit of prodding, the female guard was able to tell her that there was a place not too far from here, an old building that had been destroyed long ago but had not been taken down due to the amount of money that it would have cost to do so. Instead, it was just hceaper to go ahead and leave it as that, broken down, and decreptid, as it was a far better way of dealing with the homeless issue that nobody seemed to want to worry about. To make matters better for the homeless people, the rune knights refused to go ahead and go near there, believing that it was too dangerous to go down, and it seemed that given these rune knights, that they would not have goen down through a normal area either, or at least, nowhere that there may have been homeless people nearby. For whatever reason, the homeless people were terrified as far as what the homeless people might have allowed for or otherwise may have existed within or otherwise.

The rune knights eventually left Augusta, allowing her to do whatever it was that they might have thought would have been the best approach to handle the matter. It was something better for Augusta, especially given the fact that there were no shortage of places that there might have been, but it was pretty clear that the only place that had not been hit yet was the abandoned building. If it was someone who was going to go ahead and kill off the homeless people every two nights, and they had refused to kill anyone in the same place twice over, but rather instead it looked like that there was at least one person who had been killed in each of them. The fact that the person had not come back to the same location and killed someone else there, it was likely that there was going to have been something that took place at the other location that did not have anyone who was killed. It was a short distance away from the second crime scene in the park, and if Augusta was expected to have caught the killer and stop them from being able to go ahead and commit another killer, then she was going to have to get there as quickly as possible. And by the time that she had arrived there, it was already beginning to look dark, that night was about to fall and it would only be a matter of whether or not she ahd arrived too late or not. And based on what she could tell, there were homeless people every where, filling up the entire place. To say that it was an infestiation would be an understatement, that would be fair, if not even simple. There were no shortage of targets for whomever might have been the killer, though Augusta was beginning to have a good idea as to just who that might have been. She sat around and waited for a little bit, hoping that whomever it might have been that was arriving within this place, if at all, that they would have come by soon, because it was going to be more tedius and tiring than warranted, especially given the fact that Augusta personally did not care all that much what would have happened to these people. It was more a case of that she wanted to get the payment that was promised to her, and if that meant that she would stop this killer, that was exactly what she was going to go ahead and do. There was no reason other than the fact that she wanted to go ahead and get some money, and though there was something else, as there might have been a chance that she could have used those homeless people at some point, if for nothing else than for information, as there were far more of them than there there might have been reasons to not help them. This was a true win win scenario.

After a short bit of time, there seemed at least a bit of a chance that she might not have bene able to find whomever this person was that was going ahead and killing them, and after a short enough time, a sound caused her to think that she might have found whomever it was. Looking around, she found someone who appared at least to be dressed in black, not large in size or stature, but it was clear that whomever it was, they were maybe at Augusta’s hiehgt at the most, little more than that, but it was a sword in their hand and that was enough to eliminate any shot ro chance that it might have been that the person Augusta was looking for was this person. The person, obviously panicked at this, tried to charge at Augusta though she smirke,d holding up what looked to have been a golden rod, pointing it at the person, causing them to stop in their place, their mind being taken over by the Millenium Rod, allowing for Augusta to control them. And with a delight in her eyes, and coldness in her heart, she watched as she ordered the assailant to go ahead and take whatever the blade was in their hand and run it right across their throat, and with joy, Augusta watched as the person came to die, falling to ground as blood began to pour out onto the ground. Putting the rod back into her bag, Augusta walked over towards the body that now lay on the ground, pulling off what looked like a mask, showing that it was in fact the woman guard who had been there as a rune knight before, the one who had seemed to have tried to ruin the crime scenes. As to why it might have been that she was going around killing homeless people, maybe it was that they had wanted to get rid of them, believing that because the rune knights did not care about the homeless people that she could have gone around and killed them. Whatever the reason might have been, it did not matter naymore, as they were now dead, something that was on their person seeming tob e covered with blood. It was a list that semeedt o have a list of rune knights and their patrol information, where they were going, what they were upposed to watch over and when it was that they whould change their shift. It was clear that this was what they were using to go ahead and commit these kills, but Augusta was not interested in how it was that they were doing this, only that now she had a valuable piece of information that ouwld end up helping her with her eventual conquest of Orchidia, enabling her to go ahead and prepare things better. Putting that away after wiping away the blood, Augusta headed back to try to find the rune knight who would pay her for the finished job.
