Myra

Personal

Name: Myra

Age: August 19, X770

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Homosexual

Class: Adventurer

Race: Neko

Rank: D-Rank

Guild: Guildless

Tattoo: Left Shoulder | Vermillion

Face: Holo | Spice & Wolf

Appearance

Height: 157.5 cm | 5'2"

Weight: 46.3 kg | 102 lb

Hair: Orange/Brown

Eyes: Red

Overall: Myra appears like that of a typical young woman, with the most distinctive differences being the lacking of traditional human ears in place of ears resembling that of an almost hybrid cat breed, having attributes resembling that of both a maine coon and a somali cat. As well, she possesses a fully grown tail with a similar hybrid-like appearance, bearing the same color as her own hair with the exception of a splash of white at the end. Tail and ears aside, Myra looks no different than that of a young woman, having long flowing orange/brown hair with bangs extending down to her chest while also extending down the near extent of her backside. However, her eyes are worth noting, possessing a unique red color to them.

As far as typical attire goes, Myra generally wears clothes like that of a traveling merchant, being relatively simple in design and material, but also possessing a surprising level of craftsmanship applied to it. her preferred outfit generally consisting of a pink shirt with purple trim, a pair of black pants that possesses the same purple trim, a red silken sash, and a pair of leather boots commonly worn by travelers.

At times, Myra may prefer to wear more extravagant garments, usually obtained through less than honest means. Whether it was stolen, picked from a recently-deceased person, or just an outfit that a traveling companion happened to own, Myra will tend to adorn whatever is most appropriate given the occasion. Though she may be put in a position to wear clothes more indicative of a beggar, she may sooner tend to wear clothes that may be dirtier though still be of higher general value to keep appearances.

Extra: Myra tends to wear a small, sewn satchel which contains small gemstones of varying sizes and color, which she considers to be trophies of her travels.

Personality

Personality: Myra is an interesting individual, with her identity more akin to that of an unusual boiling pot than that of a simple profile. Apply much of the cultural and societal standards that are so frequently heralded within the Neko society and then combine those norms with characteristics shaped and defined by Myra's survival, her interactions with the people of Fiore, as well as her own medley of self-absorbed behaviors and delusions of grandeur. To provide an overly-simplified explanation of just who Myra is, that's probably the best answer that can be given. However, it doesn't tell the full story of just who she is really.

Myra considers herself to be her highest regard and often will focus on herself as an individual before that of a Neko. To that, while she does believe that while there are elements to the Neko culture in which she favors and may openly advocate for, that degree of support is by no means absolute, with Myra willing to forsake any supported principles or beliefs for the sake of either convenience or oppurtunity. This is not to say either that there are not times in which she will abandon or otherwise suddenly adopt support for policies or practices that she might have previously never regarded. As such, this makes her very maliable to whatever situation is at hand, though has also caused her to be regarded as untrustworthy at times. Further, her willingness to shift her positions seemingly at will has made it far more difficult - if not next to impossible - for Myra to appropriately recognize and appreciate a person's dedication towards a particular cause.

Crafty and manipulative, Myra is seemingly always up for displaying her wit and cunning, regardless of the potential outcomes that can result. It doesn't matter if it's an accusation she falsely made puts a man to death or a story that leads some adventurers to their doom, what matters most is that Myra has fun telling her or is able to show off just how brilliant she is. She's also not afraid to apply this craftiness in whatever capacity might most benefit her at a given time, be it assuming the identity of someone else, denegrating the reputation of a key figure, or creating a complete fabrication to best suit the given situation. But for as brilliant as she might believe herself to be, she has a hard time accepting that there may be those brighter than her, which can often lead to fits of jealousy.

One of the areas in which Myra's behaviors and personality tend to be the most polarizing is how she regards privacy and interactions on a closer, more personal level. Rarely does she regard someone's personal space, never hestitating nor afraid to interfere in someone's affairs. Whether it is going through someone's goods, eating a travel companion's food when she had not purchased it, knowingly trepassing on private property, or perhaps a simple heist, Myra holds few areas particularly sacred. More deviantly, Myra's looseness with personal boundaries also extends to a person's body, which often leads to Myra flittering the line between waivering sexual tension and unwarranted sexual assault.

What's important to note is that to simply call Myra a pervert would be a mischaracterization and dismiss a very key part of what has defined her, namely being the interactions in which she has encountered with the people of Fiore. While many of the places that she has been to, the groups in which she has traveled with, and the people she has encountered have been positive, there's been no shortage of people who have come to make her despise the people of Fiore. She has been robbed before by pickpockets, looked down upon and physically assaulted by people, whether motivated by bigotry, alcohol, or another underlying reason. And perhaps defining her comtempt of the Fioren people more than anything else are a few key instances in which she has ended up as a victim of sexual assault herself.

These incidents have attributed to a level of independence that Myra has only further fostered over the past several years. It's this indepenence that has prompted a level of confidence to some degree, cockiness, within the Neko. That level of cockiness has shared a sort of symbiotic relationship with her own cunning, both seeming to provide towards and reinforcing one another. However, for all of the strengths in which she has fostered, they have also come to serve as an intricate mask to conceal her own feelings of loneliness, fear, sadness, and pain which constantly dwell within her.

Myra's experiences have left her with a number of issues, chief among them being significant intimacy issues. The concept of love has never been one in which she has understood, with her own experience of relationships being limited to brief caravan affairs, one night stands, or instances of sexual assault. This, toppled with an ironic fear of being alone and worry of abandonment have further warped her processing and ability to develop healthy relationships, particularly with men. In fact, she tends to regard men as a whole as being untrustworthy and therefore is far less inclined to reveal key information about herself as a result. It also tends to cause her to more easily gravitate towards women, both in the respects of being people to confide to as much as she just tends to prefer for company.

Likes:

  • Travelling: Having grown up not only moving from place and place, Myra has become quite the traveler, taking a preference towards actually venturing to other lands. Whether previously explored or uncharted lands, Myra takes joy out of knowing wherever she may be is not where she was previous.
  • Festivals: Myra's love of festivals is a multi-faceted one. They serve as a means of escape; a way for an individual to forget about whatever strife or hardship they may be facing. They serve as a great place to feast upon tasty meals and strong drinks. And they generally present an uplifting feeling to the people of the area, often leading to more inviting situations, whatever they may be.
  • Fables: Fables and legends have long been sources of enjoyment for Myra. Whether they were stories told for generations, or crafted tales meant to explain past occurences, Myra has taken a liking to the not just the stories, but also to how they are presented. The differences in dialect, the tones used, each person tells a story differently and in a sense, tells a different story entirely.
  • Demonstrating Her Cunning: Myra holds herself to be a particularly crafty and - at times - devious. Whether it's telling a lie, creating an intricate story, or simply prompting an arguement for the sake of proving herself smarter than someone else, Myra takes great pleasure in showing to others that she has far more cunning than one would expect of her.

Dislikes:

  • Fiore Society: Time and again, Myra has been on the unruly end of discrimination and bigotry by the people of Fiore. While Neko are often respected and treated decently by the people, Myra has had far fewer experiences. Whether attributed to by genuine hate or by Myra's own actions or behaviors, she has come to regard this stance as the standard for the people of Fiore.
  • Pickpockets: Myra's travels have not always been of joy and grandeous explorations. More than a handful of times had she encountered pickpockets and other vagrants that would commonly stalk the roads far from the major cities. While Myra has come away from most of these encounters with her possessions intact, there have been the rare occassion where what she concluded travelling with weighed far less than when she left.
  • Men: Having survived past instances of sexual assault, Myra's confidence in men has become not much more than 'the only good man is one who's bleeding out'. She has a distinct lack of trust towards men, immediately tending to gravitate towards another woman for a sense of protection or to immediately go on guard if there is no other female in the area.
  • Water: Like all Neko, Myra does not like water. Whether it's a heavy downpour of rain, a large body of water like a lake or river, or just someone happening to mistakenly pour water over her head, Myra is not a fan of it. Even beyond just being a Neko, the feeling of wet hair, the sick feeling in which wet clothes bring about, they all contribute towards a disdain of water.

Motivations:

  • A Sense of Belonging: Never having been fully accepted nor fully embracing the Neko society, Myra has spent most of her life as a wanderer, often travelling with the various caravans throughout Fiore. However, much like how success and safety along those groups can be short-lived, so too is the feeling of it being a home. Although Myra has enjoyed herself frequently, rarely have she ever felt as though she belongs, a sense that has persisted all of her life.
  • Being No Longer Vulnerable: Due to her age, her being a Neko, and the chosen life choice she has made - notably the decision to travel with caravans - Myra has at times felt that she was at the mercy of whom she travelled with; their attitudes and trustworthiness dictating both how welcome she was and how safe she would be. She longs to be able to feel as though she can defend herself, to not have to worry if the person who she might be expected upon to rely next will come to her aid or not.

Fears:

  • Getting Too Attached: Living and travelling with caravans have hardened Myra to the point where the idea of people leaving and the prospect of being abandoned are not rarities, but rather inevitabilities. People whom she had come to know, perhaps even started to become friends with may end up disappointing her, leaving her group or otherwise abandoning her, or perhaps just end up dead. While a hazard of the job, it nonetheless makes it harder for Myra to fully open up to someone if the risk is that a friend she might have had one day is gone the next.
  • Becoming a Mother: On several occasions now, Myra has been the victim to sexual assault by a human, and fortunately for her, she has escaped each time  without being impregnated. The thought of being forced to carry her rapist's child, more even than the idea of being forced to raise the child, terrifies Myra. Not only would it serve as a constant reminder beyond the physical trauma, but also would force her into a position mirroring that of her own mother, unable to possibly love a child that she gave birth to.

History

"Most people are stupid."

Myra's tale is hardly a tale of joy, nor is it a tale of sorrow. To tell it accurately, it is more akin to a ship riding against the tides, with no shortages of ups and downs throughout it. Born the youngest of four children in a Neko village based in a forest just outside one of the more heavily ventured merchant roads, Myra encountered no shortage of tribulation growing up. Discriminated against by her village and even much of her family due to her possessing physical features far contrary to that of the rest of her family or of the village itself, Myra found herself from an early period relying upon herself, not only growing up, but at times for survival too.

The growing demand for non-perishable goods only ultimately made circumstances more difficult for Myra as merchant caravans made more subsequent trips along the roads just outside of the village's forest. Often left unsupervised and un-watched, Myra began to frequent with the merchants on the occasions that the travelling groups took rest. Of her initial interactions, her encounters were mixed. Some merchants taught her some of the basics behind their craft, skills that could assist in improving her speechcraft, or sometimes - to her delight - gifting the young Neko with surplus goods. These early interactions fostered Myra's interest and intrigue in not only the caravans, but also the rest of the world beyond the forest's village.

"The merchants welcome me not for my wit or my beauty, but because I am a woman. They flaunt their goods before me as if appropriate trade for me in their bed! All's the while they leave those same goods unguarded whilst they sleep!"

On one night in particular, after a caravan had made camp just beyond the outskirts of the forest, Myra had made the decision to venture out and meet the people and find out more about them. Where they were going, what goods they were selling, and any other sort of information that they would have been willing to talk about. What Myra got instead was a moment that forever defined her, with one drunken merchant stumbling into the forest late at night, proceeding to sexually assault a young Myra. Close enough to the caravan, Myra was fortunate that her cries were enough to get the attention of the other traders who proceeded to come to her aid and prevent her situation from becoming any more dire.

However, her cries and the subsequent commotion by the caravan were unfortunately loud enough too such that many within the Neko village had been awoken. In what was only a few minutes but quickly came to feel like an eternity to Myra, the scene came into full realization. Shy of a dozen humans equipped with torches, physically restraining one man who had multiple cuts to his face and barely any clothes on, nearly two dozen Neko who collectively had almost no interaction with humans in the past in various states of processing what was going on, and in the middle of it all was Myra, still struggling to process herself what had just happened to her, a medley of emotions running through her - none of them pleasant.

"I'd sooner slit the throats of every man here than allow one to lay their hands upon me!"

Myra, already considered an outcast for her different physical features, was ostracized from her village, directed never to return for her 'engagements' with a human male. Fortunately, she was afforded a small bit of relief in the caravan extending the offer to allow the young Neko to travel with them, both in hopes of paying atonement and also so that she might see her rapist face his punishment. He would eventually be sentenced to the gallows in a public hanging which Myra was present for, but even this belated display of justice would not fully reverse the anger and shame that the rape and her exile brought about.

After a short period, Myra opted to venture out with the same caravan that had helped her. Now having established a shaky friendship with some of the merchants travelling, Myra sought to refine the skills she had begun to learn and while they did improve, she was reluctant to believe that she would ever end up becoming fully accepted with the caravan. Her worries ultimately proved to be correct, as after a few months much of the caravan split apart, opting to travel a largely unexplored trade route which brought with it untold dangers. Myra ultimately chose to travel with this group, though as the days turned to weeks, more and more it seemed that the only destination they were off to were their deaths.

"Just once, I wish to sleep and awaken knowing that the person I met the evening prior will not be gone from my life by morning."

For the better part of two months, the caravan toiled through the region, suffering no shortage of setbacks including several encounters with bandits, wolves, and a frightening moment when a bridge collapsed, almost taking Myra with it. Left with little confidence that they would ever reach their destination, several of the merchants plotted a mutiny, aiming to kill off those who challenged them and sell off the goods for a quick profit. On the night that the mutiny was to occur, Myra had been fortunate enough as to go out and look for firewood, thereby saving herself from the bloodshed and fighting that she could hear from the trees a distance away. Stumbling through the aftermath once the sounds of fighting finally ceased, Myra was heartbroken to see almost everyone whom she had been travelling with either dead or nearly at death's door.

Myra had been so consumed and mortified at the carnage around her that she did not realize that there were seldom few who were still alive, and none of whom considered themselves to be her ally. Before she knew it, Myra found herself to two men who had appeared to have survived the battle, who began to sexually assault her. Once everything was over, Myra simply lay there when out of the corner of her eye she noticed a small blade which had been left on the ground. Waiting until the two men had their backs turned, Myra wasted no time in claiming the weapon as her own and then proceeded to kill them both, slicing the first man's throat with such force that the head was nearly severed, and then subsequently stabbing the second man over sixty times until he was nothing more than a ripped apart corpse.

"Smoked meats, spiced wine, beautiful women, and a warm bed. What more could a girl ask for?"

In spite of the trauma she suffered and against all odds, Myra emerged from the attempted mutiny as the sole survivor. Having collected what of the salvaged goods she was able to, Myra proceeded back the route they initially came, hopeful the still-viable food storages would last the distance. Eventually arriving at a nearby trading post, the young Neko was able to liquidate almost all of the supplies in which she had brought back, netting a profit greater than what any of the merchants she was travelling with had imagined themselves making. With such a surplus, Myra spent almost a month at the trading post, recovering her strength and learning all that she could from the merchants who passed through, making deals as neccesary and otherwise living off of her small fortune.

It was around the time that newer caravans began to push the same route that her own caravan had attempted over a month earlier that Myra sought out to find her way in the world. Even after a month living well at the trading post, Myra still had a respectable amount of funds, enough at least to hire someone to take her elsewhere into the more established parts of Fiore. Having already been exposed to the worst of what the country had to offer, Myra simply chuckled at how trivial now this song and dance seemed to have become. Now used to surviving on her own, along with what remained of her small fortune, Myra had no intention of allowing the misfortunes which had befallen her before to happen again.

"There will be time to speak later. Later when I can look upon your eyes and not feel your words stabbing through my heart over and over again."

Hi there~

  • Please be less specific about the sexual assault that happened to Myra. The website is a pg-13 site. It is fine to mention that there was an assault but remove the taking turns as well as the previous happening and the description before that.
  • Second your character can't look wolf like. Feline and canine don't mix. Please look up cat species; there are enough with a busy tail.
