It seemed to be that time of the year. The time of the year where everyone decided to come out and hang like one big happy family. Zhu-Lin hadn't seen her family for quite a while, and she had been feeling a bit lonely, like there was a hole in her heart that she had tried to fill one too many times before and failed. Things weren't going the way she had initially wanted when she had first traveled to Fiore, and she had just hoped that one of these days, something nice would come along and fill the hole in her heart with something pleasant, something that she couldn't get anywhere else.

She walked along the petal-covered streets looking for something interesting. It didn't have to be anything in particular, it could just be a drawing, something that was lifeless yet full of meaning and color. There was so much going on around her she could barely focus. The people walking by laughing, the sakura petals falling, all the vibrant colors. She had just stopped in her tracks, looking around and admiring everything for a moment. She turned around to start walking again, but just as she did there was someone right in front of her, and she had almost fallen. The person had startled her a bit, and she had just bent over for a moment, apologizing to the person as she would do in Sin day to day. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!" she repeated herself in her language. She really was sorry, as it was her fault for not paying attention. She stood up straight again, now patting the person in front of her. She had stared for a moment, taking in what was in front of her. The face she had seen wasn't like anything she had ever seen before, and it was the slightest bit odd that she could run into someone like this on such a crazy day. A whole sakura blossom had fallen and landed in their hair, and as it did, she had gotten a glimpse of the future, or maybe a possible future. It was odd, but maybe this could be the thing that filled the gap, the gap that has been open for so long.

Sage †


It was that time of the year, where everyone would gather around with friends, family and loved ones, but not Sage. He was walking down the petal-covered street alone in his light blue kimono which matches his left eye. He would look around the flower festival, the things they sell, and the foods people eat but he couldn't help it but to not notice the fun they were all having, the fun, the laughs, the smile that can only be gained by being with someone you love. All these thoughts were making him sadder, so he decided not to think about it at all, he's very idealistic, finding the good in everything, he said to himself in his mind, that it was going to be fine, maybe it's not his time yet, miracles can happen whenever and wherever. He then took a deep breath, the aroma of fresh food and the smell of the cherry blossoms filled his lungs, he felt a little bit happier now.

As he would start to continue walking again, he didn't see what he was walking into, he accidentally collided with someone, before Sage could even speak a word, the girl he bumped into said something as she was apologizing, she would start to clean Sage's clothes even though there shouldn't be any dust or something like that when they bumped right? But it was ok, she was being very modest and humble, and before Sage could even act, petals of cherry blossoms started to fall on them, Sage's elven ears twitched because he could feel the petals rubbing themselves over it, but he doesn't care for when the girl looked at Sage he felt this affection towards her, he tried to say something, he was stuttering for a moment, which isn't a good thing, but he couldn't care less, he must talk to this girl. "H-Hey, I'm Sage, what's your name?" his cheeks would go a little bit of red, he didn't know what else to say except to introduce himself, and he does want to know the girl's name. Without noticing, his lips curled upwards a little bit, carving a little smile on his face.

Zhu had smiled at the boy in front of her, now not feeling as embarrassed as she did before. There was a feeling in the air, a feeling that had never been there before. It was warmth, comfort, maybe even love. Maybe she was coming to feel what everyone else throughout the festival had been feeling, and she had finally gotten a sense of what it felt like to finally have something truly meaningful in her life, even if it was for a moment. There had been a petal that had fallen into her cat ear, and as it twitched, she had heard a bird off in the distance. It was a chirp of joy, and from the sounds of it the bird had become a mother, and the sounds had been caused due to the fact that her eggs had just hatched, creating official new life. She shook the petal from her ear and as she had finished, the boy had introduced himself as Sage. She had replied with, "I'm uh... I'm Haruna... nice to meet you." She had been looking down a bit as the boy had been just a smaller than herself, and as she had finished, she said, "So uhm... do you want to go uh... eat or something? There are a lot of nice food places around here, I'm sure there's something that'd be perfect for right now." She was trying to make this less awkward, and food was normally the way to do it.

Her name was Haruna, it reminded him of his friend Hatsuharu which then lead him unconsciously creating a ship name 'HaruHaru' for them which sounds very funny, but of course, this is only on his mind he wouldn't want to say stuff like that to someone he just met right? Haruna then asked him if he'd like to eat something which was quite peculiar, for someone to just ask somebody they just met to go and buy some food. He could see that the girl must have a feeling of affection towards him but so did he, the memories of his path came and it didn't taste sweet at that moment, he reminded himself to be careful with every step he takes and not to rush things.

"Yeah sure, I'd love to grab some freshly cooked takoyaki, come," he said leading her to a stall where he grabbed a box of takoyaki the day before and now he came once more to taste the undeniable good taste of the delicacy. He went over to the counter but first, he turned to Haruna realizing that he'd been selfish, "Oh wait do you want to have takoyaki or something else cause I'd be cool if you want to eat something else," he said trying to get his sentence right and not making any silly grammar mistakes and embarrass himself.

The boy had offered to go get this food called takoyaki, and this made her think back to the other day. She had been talking to a woman named Ianthe who had been eating takoyaki, and the description of it just made her want to try them even more now than before. She was now pretty excited, and as she dusted the flower petals from her hair, she could feel warmth again, and there was something forming, something beautiful.

She had followed him to the stand in which delicious sents were being dispersed, and she had watched as he had stopped and turned around, asking if this was what she wanted. "Sure, takoyaki sounds nice. I've never had it before, but from what I've heard it's really good. I trust that this will be good, and it's nice to try new things, so why not?" Her mouth had been started to water as she had imagined what it would taste like. All the food she had tasted so far was amazing, and she was sure that this wasn't going to let her down. She licked her lips and her tail had swung side to side behind her as she eagerly waited for the food that she would most probably fall in love with.

He was glad that the girl wanted takoyaki, this was actually his first time doing something like this, with a girl probably going to ask her out one day, and perhaps she has the same feeling, he walked to the shopkeeper and asked for two sets of takoyaki, when it was served he'd pay both of the sets with his own money, placing his wallet back into his kimono pocket and grabbed the two sets with both of his hands, handing one to Haruna with a smile, "Here you go,", once she took the takoyaki he'd walked further from thes tall making room for other people to buy the foods they serve and he started to look around, "Let's find somewhere to sit," and then he spotted one, a bench facing a mountainy scenery, "Aha! Follow me," he'd say to Haruna then happily walked towards the bench, inviting her to sit first before he does by gesturing his left hand, once she was seated he would sit next to her, it was a bench made for two, he'd then take one of the takoyakis by grabbing the stick of one of the takoyakis and filled his whole mouth with it, then looking at Harna seeing how she was doing.

The girl had felt a bit bad making the boy pay for her food, so in the back of her mind, she had noted that she would pay him back later. She took the box that was handed to her, saying thanks to the shopkeeper. She exited the line and turned around, now looking around for somewhere to sit. It seemed that Sage had already found a place to sit, and as he signaled for her to follow, she did with a smile. This was nice, and she would never have imagined doing something like this normally. She had looked around for a moment though before realizing that something was missing. She was definitely missing something, and she hadn't realized what it was until she had thought about it for a few more moments. She had forgotten Venus! How could she possibly do such a thing. She pulled money out of her pocket and handed it to the boy, saying "I'm so sorry! I would stay longer, but I realize I have forgotten something dear to me, and I must go and retrieve it." And with that she took the box of food and put one in her mouth, making a sound of satisfaction before running off to go find her companion.

As they were watching the beautiful scenery suddenly Haruna gave out a peculiar vibe, a vibe that seems like she was forgetting something, he wanted to ask her if everything's okay, then she took some money out of her pocket and paid Sage, he was shocked by this, he didn't want the money, it felt like he was rejected, it felt like what Sage did, which is buy her food, was not accepted. The neko girl then said that she lost something dear to her and she left setting off to find whatever she held dear.

A sigh escaped his mouth, disappointment could be seen on his face, he leaned his back on the bench and took one of the takoyaki and filled his whole mouth with one, it tasted good, he then remembered what his grandmother once told him, that the first love a person will have will always not end well unless of course it's the true one. He missed his grandmother. He then continued looking at the beautiful scenery alone this time, with his warm takoyaki and the background noise of the festival, being alone there was something that's not that gloomy at all, the way it just is was still perfect.
