Ianthe
Spoiler:

Ianthe sipped the tomato soup from her spoon quietly as she looked over the requests she plucked from the request board earlier in the day. The soup was the right temperature to drink down, enough to enjoy it with burning her tongue. She arrived in the beautiful city a few days ago and she marveled at everything around her. Today just happened to be one of those rainy days, the one where it was better to relax inside and just listen to it. Ianthe was unfortunately not able to just relax, she had to keep working and keep moving if she wanted to be recognized and become strong enough to help others and maybe one day see her homeland again. Trying to remember it now was hazy work. It saddened her quite a bit when she couldn’t remember anything about the place, not even the name. But she knew seeing it would jog her memory so she had to keep working, making jewels, and traveling the land until she found it. Ianthe finished off the last of her soup and took the final bites of a grilled cheese sandwich before placing all but one request into her cloak’s pocket. A flash of lightning filled the sky followed by a burst of thunder. Ianthe furrowed her brow as she looked out the window, she didn’t wanna go out there with all that messy weather. With a heavy sigh she paid for her meal and tightened the cloak around her shoulders, throwing the heavy hood over her head. Grabbing her clear plastic poncho she bought recently, Ianthe threw that on too while making sure the hood for it covered her own cloak fully. Reading the request she had in her hand once more she made her way out of the cafe and towards the Inn where the person who made this quest was.

The rain wasn’t so bad with ponch protecting her and it didn’t take long to make it to the inn. Wasting little time she made her way to the bar keepers area and pulled out the request. “ Uh hello sir, I’m looking for Batra. “  Ianthe’s voice was steady even amongst the rowdy sounds of the Inn’s bar. “ Ah that would be me, you must be here for my request. Good, that’s good. Now to give ya the short and simple I’m having a little problem. A good customer of mine got scammed out of his money. We all know who’s done it so if you could just go track the little weasel down and get the money back I would be thankful beyond words. His name is Kyle, here is a picture so ya don’t miss him. “ Barta slid a image of the man named Kyle toward Ianthe and she quickly picked it up to examine. Nodding her head she placed the image in her pocket and made her way back into the rain. A frown came to Ianthe’s face as she walked around the city streets in the pouring rain. Who knows how long it would take to find this person, especially in this rain he would most likely be inside of a building somewhere. With frustration building up she knew this would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Rubbing her hands across her eyes, the moment of blindness caused her to run right into something or someone.

Ianthe

“ I’m sorry I didn’t mean it.. “ Quickly moving her hands from her eyes, Ianthe was met with a dark haired male who was far shorter than she was and wearing purple shirt and green tie. “ Kyle…” The words fell from her lips as she stared the man down. “ Hey it’s ok hun, we all make mistakes…. Wait? Do you know me or somethin? I mean I am popular around here, how can ya not know me? “ A short but overly confident laugh erupted from Kyle. Ianthe shook her head at him and held her hand out. “ You conned a poor man out of his money. I demand you give it back now, or face the wrath of a mage. “ Ianthe’s voice was firm and direct as she never broke eye contact with Kyle. “ Oh gosh, I don’t think I conned him out of anything, It was a fair and square game. But I don’t wanna get in no trouble so here, take the money, I’m outta here. “ Kyle’s voice sounded sad and he looked bummed out as he handed over the Jewels to Ianthe. Taking the jewels she rushed back to Batra who seemed impressed by the expression on his face. “ I didn’t think it would be that easy. The customer should be very….” Ianthe titled her head slightly as Batra”s voice trailed off. “ Is there something wrong? “ The question was an innocent one from Ianthe as she thought she had done good. “ Oh doll, this ain't real… He gave you fakes that little cockroach. Kyle is the worst I swear. Please go and get the real jewels and bring Kyle back to me. I don’t blame you doll, these are real good counterfeits and I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed it at first glance.” She could feel her cheeks prickle with heat and he eyes water. Ianthe was embarrassed that she got it wrong, so embarrassed she ran out of the inn and to the last place she saw Kyle. He was still in the same area but as soon as he saw Ianthe he ran in the direction of the city’s exit. Ianthe wouldn’t have him getting away from her so she took the alleyways to cut him off. “ Kyle you know what you did was wrong. Now give me back the money. I don’t want to have to hurt you for it. “ Kyle laughed at her words and charged at her. Ianthe was quick on her toes and could see him coming from a mile away with an attack like that. Side stepping him she watched as he ran past her. Positioning herself behind him she gave the man a kick to the back so that he would fall on his face in a dirty puddle. The force of the kick made Kyle fall so hard he had gotten knocked out. Grabbing the wet man by the arm she pulled him up and used herself as a crutch to drag him to Batra’s Inn where she dumped his body onto the ground. “ Thank you doll, here is your reward. I’ll make sure Kyle here learns a lesson about this. “ Ianthe nodded, collected her reward, and took her leave.
