I know you can buy your stat upgrades, but what is the +X on?

If you have 30STR when you buy the race, is the +25 on top of this base stat of 30 or is it 0?

Machia is currently disabled and cannot be bought. But yes, after you purchase the upgrade, it'll be added on top of whatever stats you have previously however, you cannot gain any stat increase from quests nor can purchase any potions.
