Shura Ranzu †
Oh look once again night time was upon the town of Dahlia. The night owl life had become the normal for the moment. Sleeping during the day and working at night. This was the second night of working for the unknown client. Shura didn’t care he was here to make money. Lives lost just meant it was their time to go. Shura showed no malice or hatred it was just strictly business. This time he was wandering through the abandoned streets of Dahlia. It he become the norm for him to not say anyone wandering around less they were looking for some sort of trouble. Shura wasn’t looking for trouble thankfully. Then again trouble always seemed to find him so he couldn’t really escape it. Walking around in the same attire as the night before, except with no blood stains. He was acting natural as to not draw attention to himself.

He was actually on patrol for a client, most likely the same one from the night before. He didn’t care to get a name or want to know the face he was working for. Shura made sure to keep the relationship professional and nothing else. He didn’t want to become the target of some ambitious figure because he knew too much. The patrol was easy, kill anyone who defaced public property with anti-religious slander. Also kill anyone who dare rip down posters of the person in power. It was funny to Shura really, this only showed the corruption that laid hidden within man. Religion was a tool to make people bow down, nasty stuff really. Shura wanted to rule the land standing in front of the public, not hiding behind a religion. He would never say that outloud due to the possible repercussions of his actions.

His eyes darted left to right and back. While doing this he scanned the area around him looking for any possible offenders. The sounds came from the alleyway on his side of the street. The sounds of convesering and shuffling around. This put the scene of the crime on his right, five meters away. Shura concealed himself by hiding around a corner out of sight. From the alleyway they could have only seen the top of his head. If someone was coming from the street he must have looked dumb. Thankfully he didn’t have to worry about that because the streets stayed empty at night.

Two cloaked figures were up to no good, one of them approached the picture on the wall. The individual ripped the paper from the wall making a loud ripping noise. Shura came from around the corner. “Looks like I have to get my hands dirty.”

The two figures looked to see where the voice was coming from. Shocked that someone caught them they had no other choice but to flee the scene of the crime. Shura gave the two a head start before rushing after them. He wasn’t running at his top speed more of a casual jog. That was more than enough needed to catch up. He was enjoying the chasing down of his prey. There was no fun in just catching individuals that he knew wouldn’t be able to escape.

They ran for about three minutes straight down the alleyway. It wasn’t long before the two came up on a fence that was too high to climb. The snow on the fence had become icy so it was pointless to even try.

Shura Ranzu †
Walking down the alley Shura only whistled to add suspense for what was about to happen. He came here to do a job and nothing else. He held no sort of malice for the individuals in question. The two most likely knew what was about to happen. Anyone in this town who stood against the church disappeared without a trace. Sometimes the remains were left behind to leave a message for those who rebelled. This was the law of the land. Everyone in town knew this truth. Even Shura was starting to pick up on these small hints due to the type of jobs he was tasked with. No one knew how deep the rabbit hole went in this town. With each job Shura found himself crawling deeper.

The long shadow of the executioner was cast upon the two. They revealed themselves by tossing the cloaks off. No need to hide who they were, they knew what this man was here for. They were young lads. Looked like they weren’t even out of their teenage years yet. Shura still felt no sort of remorse for what he was about to do. He knew what he was doing was not right. He did not believed he was wrong in this situation. At the end of the day he was just a tool for fate to utilize. These two boys dying here only meant it was their time to go.

Shura grabbed the weapon with his right hand and waited. He was allowing the two boys to speak their final words. “Anything to say before you two are removed from this world?” One of them had a smile on his face, as if he pitied Shura.

"Do you know what is scarier than the monsters who hides in the light and shows its teeth in the dark? The monster who does not hide in the light but hides its teeth behind a smile." The boy was angry but tears streamed down his face.

Shura raised a eyebrow at the riddle in question. He looked at the boy on the left who choose to pray. One defiant and the other was accepting of what was about to happen. “So be it.” With that Shura removed the weapon from his back with both hands. Raising it above his head the one who spoke rushed forward. With his last actions he wanted to try and stop Shura, but it was futile. Orbs fired out in a straight line at the two. Explosions erupted in the alleyway, causing more destruction than good. The two boys were vaporized in the blast leaving nothing but charred remains of the two. Shura returned the weapon to it’s original position. He looked up into the sky, the moon shimmering bright. It was as if he saw the souls travel into the world above. Shura knew at some point the bishop was going to be a target. For the time being he was paying his room bill. So Shura had a reason to keep him around for the time being.
