… This food store began selling crepes. That was a type of meal that Hyōen hadn’t tried before; either that or he didn’t remember all the times with his mother in town, but then again, he’d eaten so many types of food when he was younger. Now, he relied on raw materials from the nature, but crepes reminded him of what he used to eat as a child. “… Okay, here we go,” he spoke up while Coda was waving her wings to ready for a breakdown from Hyōen’s stomach that would bring him to his knees. After having lived in the woods for so long, proper, delicate food was giving him the worst stomach-aches.

As the first bite went down his throat, he felt something. It was the sweet sense that took over, a refreshed feeling travelling through his body. His coal-black hair lit up in a passionate, pink flame that exposed his happiness for the meal that was eaten. Coda calmed a bit down and lowered her wings again, feeling assured that it wouldn’t go down like always. During his daily heaven, a group of men began approaching Hyōen as he ate. The other customers at the store were having their eyes on the dark boy alone, a little shocked at his quick way of devouring food. The crepe was practically, and literally, down in less than nanoseconds, a habit that seriously shocked their own values and etiquette. Coda was merely amazing the animal admirers while she cooled down her wings on the air. "T-Ten more of these, please!" Hyōen quickly begged the merchant as he slammed his hand on the table with an even grander flame that substitutued his hair, glowing out that pink color of pure passion and love for the new meal that hid a nasty secret dormant...

Okay she would leave... tomorrow! Yes tomorrow, or well the day after was fine too. She was in line for a milkshake, she liked them too much lately as she stared at her tight fitting dark blue dress, still fitted. Now she was moving enough around to not gain much weight but damn she hated this body more than anything, no wait that wasn't true, there was one thing she hated more and that was her dead twin. Thank god she was dead so the only thing Lacie had to hate was her body. She was short and her hair was red. She had freckles, what more did she had to say. She liked to look to her reflection because she liked her face, it was prettier than Alice had been, who had been more tough but, "Miss? Miss?" She shook her head and noticed the gab in front of her and blinked surprised as the guy behind the counter asked for her order, oops. Ah well she wouldn't have to apologize to stupid people.

Before she could place the order of her milkshake, someone slammed on the table to order ten more crepes. She couldn't imagine that it was tasty, although she had liked the waffle bite she got from Konstantin, as she had to figure out the world and how it worked, it might be smart to try a crepe, but before she could order, the guy made sure the ten crepes were on, "I would like to order a crepe too. With chocolate please and a strawberry milkshake." She would have to find a seat and the crepe would be brought to her, she only had to wait a few seconds for her milkshake. She went to sit next to the enthusiastic boy that ordered the ten orders, "They must be very tasty if you want ten." She couldn't help but say, although if you listened closely you could understand that she had no idea if they were tasty herself. She hadn't noticed the flames that he had used but she might understood that pretty soon.

His eyes lit up in flames, clearly desiring those ten crepes. Heck, he could go out on a rampage without them at this instant, but luckily, a plate with the wished amount was placed before him. “Enjoy your meal, boy! That will be 100 jewels!” the merchant expressed. Before him, Hyōen had placed the price on the table and snapped a crepe in the same instant, having its delicious aroma engulf his mouth. His eyes almost broke into tears by the amazing taste. It was surprising for a guy with a ‘no delicate food’ complex to enjoy crepes so much, though, to the extent where it began worrying him. However, before thinking too much of it, a strange girl commented directly to him.

“Mhm..!” he replied while stuffing himself with the crepe, “… *slurp* I might take another ten with me back home!” His face brightened in joy of the meal as he thanked the seller for such an experience. His pink flare was spotted by the seller in a hurry after he accepted the payment, in which he commented: “U-Uhm, perhaps you should back off from the wooden tables. Your hair is on fire, boy..!” Moving his eyes up, Hyōen nodded calmly. “They often light up things, but don’t worry about your store, sir…” he assured, while enjoying another crepe. He would slowly hand a third crepe to the girl beside him, showing off some politeness to ease the situation before trouble was erupting due to his hair…

Lacie found the boy rude. Not only did he interrupt her order, he didn't answer her when she talked to him, he was too busy stuffing his mouth. She took a sip of her milkshake in the mean time. Right, she should find another table but that looked weird if she would get up and sit on another table, so she refrained from doing that. She looked with a surprised and a little disgust face at him, mostly because of the way he ate and talked and the flames she noticed now.

She took another sip of her milkshake and waited not so patiently for her own crepe. Suddenly without tasting them she already found them disgusting, maybe with chocolate hadn't been the best idea, as she had only liked chocolate from the chocolate festival that was held during Valentine. Which had taken a while and after that in combination with waffles they were fine and fruit, she should have ordered strawberries on that too but that might be too much. Finally hers arrived, and she ate it neatly with a fork and a knife. She had declined the one the boy offered because ew but she had done it with a smile and trying to look nice. "It looks like you never had them before." she muttered more as she put a piece of the chocolate covered crepe in her mouth, to her own surprise, she liked them more than she had expected, fruit had been nice on one but this was already.. perfect. She couldn't freak out about this but she took a quick bite herself again, okay ten was too much but she wouldn't mind another one... she didn't like that idea too much for it made her different looking. Maybe it worked well with the mask that she was still wearing.

“It does, right..?” he replied again to the girl beside him. Apparently, given by her expression and amount of crepes bought, this would be one of her first times too, in which he began to smile. “They taste good here,” he proclaimed while taking another bite off his crepe. Coda was waving her wings and stretching out, taking small bites of the baked bread that the crepe consisted of, keeping away from the more sugar-filled ingredients. Hyōen didn’t mind the least, because his relationship with that bird was like that of siblings. Beside, he’d lived with this bird for as long as he remember.

Besides the small glares, the girl appeared quite friendly enough, so Hyōen didn’t mind her company. Finding peace, he kept enjoying those crepes, until he suddenly looked down at the table, finding out that a crepe was on the hand of a random stranger. It was slowly being picked away as Hyōen calculated the situation, his hair instantly turning into a clear, orange fire as he concluded by boosting up a jet-like flame that pushed his leg upwards, sending a jet-boosted knee to the burglar’s chin. The man was beneath the table, trying to avoid getting spotted, but as he received what he deserved, his head crashed through the table and left out a fainted male. “Watch out for those burglars out there, sir,” he warned the astonished seller while still eating his crepe like nothing happened. Other people were having their eyes on the table too, being oblivious that the group from earlier had begun their ‘raid’ as they all were distracted. If you just looked down the tables, you would spot all of them…

Lacie stared at the crepe, something couldn't be so easy looking and yet so delicous. She turned her gaze from the food to the boy and nodded, "Yes.. yes you are right." she said the surprise clearly in her voice but she took another bite and another and so on. She was more focused on her food and milkshake. She did notice the boy for she obviously had been sitting next to his table with a reason, he was curious. She found him funny for some reason and that was something she actually didn't like. She had better things to do than stay here and be a nuance to her own being in Orchidia. She had to repack herself and make a decision and rather soon. She was now fooling around and walking around in Orchidia lost and without a head in a matter of speaking.

In the corner of her eye she noticed the the fire because of the colour and the movement. She quickly looked at that, holding up her own hands in case she needed to protect someone from this boy. But no, it wasn't that bad as she had just quickly assumed. She stood up from her own table, next to Hyoen and stared at the fainted man. Her eyes quickly scanned the shop, "There are more." She pointed out at another man that didn't try to get the food of the table put the purse on the table. She didn't have the strength for this nor the magic but if the boy next to her could prevent people like that from leaving, she could at least support him and in case necessary heal him. He even had a companion like Arthur had, that was very useful as well. And the fact that people were watching their tables now.

The girl had mentioned, right after enjoying a crepe or two, that there were more of them. Moving his view towards the table which she pointed at, he could fathom a large number of thieves; it was extremely surprising to see them being scattered all over the place without being noticed until now. “H-How even…” he mumbled, “… Hey, sir, you might close your van. Now.” The seller did as warn and pulled down the metal bars, whilst he also shut the door behind him. The van seemed safe for now, so Hyōen just needed to clear out the issue. Apparently, besides the one whom he assumed had some experience with magic power, he was the only mage around the market place, and people had begun to buzz as the seller closed his shop. That was when they spotted heads beneath the tables, and loud screams began…

“Coda!” he commanded, watching the bird settle upon the skies to look at the enemies, “O-Okay, I never got your name, but do you mind helping me?” A burglar came up behind Hyōen as he spoke, sending a soft blow to his cheek. Stepping to the side, the fire boy responded by planting his elbow into the poor man’s skull, sending him straight to his dreams. He quickly wiped off the injury and sprinted forward, following where Coda was soaring above. His hand held a fireball that he swung in an arc before him, which caused a coat of fire to knock back the other masked man. "Get lost, you fool..!"

She wanted to have beasts as well to support her, for all she couldn't do much but support and heal or well more defend and heal. She could only scream a watch out as another man in this battle wanted to pick up the boy and slung him over his shoulder, it wouldn't happen if it was up to her. She muttered an apology towards herself as she stood on her chair and jumped on her table and off to stop the man from making it a two and two fight, "I'm not much of a help." she said towards the boy whom had asked her to help him. Before she had said that however she had muttered a prayer and a yellow see through shield appeared on her left arm and she blocked someone that wanted to hit Hyoen, "This is all I can do for now." she muttered, the Divine would protect her though and it were about five men and two were already knocked out, this guy was good and besides his companion seemed to be useful. Okay she would go to a shop and buy one herself!

She pushed against the guy who tried to break her shield and pushed him against a chair so he tripped and fell backward, well that was one so only two left and probably the fire mage had already fixed that. They should reward him with crepes, she bet he would be happy. When she turned around it seemed that his fight would soon be over, if it was she would thank him and watch the people calm down again, "Nice fire magic. I'm Lacie by the way, nice to meet you." She looked at the bird that seemed to be his pet, "And you too." she said as she acknowledged it. She would use pets for her own good, she definitely didn't fancy one, she prefered being alone most of the time.

Hyōen couldn’t but grin by Lacie’s statement of her amount of help. It was better than nothing, and so he replied: “Y-You barely helped me yet… show me just how helpful that you-“ His words were cut off by the blocking of a random burglar’s fist, defended by none other than the girl who just stated that she wasn’t of much help. “S-See! I told you..!” With that said, Hyōen’s feet boosted out jet-like flames and pushed him towards the last two, simply tackling them down using his arms as ploughshares to push their bodies to the kerbstones. He would then move back to the seller who slowly looked out and assured himself that the trouble was taken care of. “Oh, thank the Lord, my shop is fine…” he mumbled, “That was some splendid firework there, you two! Why don’t you take this plate of crepes; the house pays the bill!” The generous merchant placed a large plate with about 10-20 crepes, ready and waiting for Hyōen’s mouth to devour them. He couldn’t stop watering from the view…

Lacie had complimented his fire magic, a thing that made him feel kind of proud. He sparkled a little while having some ice on his cheek, whilst Coda nuzzled Lacie’s face with her beak to try and register her into her memory. “Hehe, it seems that Coda likes you..!” Hyōen commented, “Also, I haven’t complimented your magic… or whatever it was… wait, what was it again?” It was shown right in front of his face earlier, but he already forgot what exactly that she used to block the enemy’s punch…

Even though there wasn't much she could do, she had done something. She was glad that her spells could do something, but she took the idea that she should work out more, get a bit stronger, get a companion might be a good idea as well. She bit her lip as she lowered the shield that was on her arm, her arm felt a little bit sore. She should definitely get stronger. With a soft sigh she turned to look at the boy that helped her or well she helped him and his companion, she also stared at the owner that seemed to be happy that nothing of his store was rekt nor that his reputation was gone. The shop would be able to go on. The owner offered them ten to twenty crepes, she couldn't count it and she stared at it, well why not. She could take one and let the boy take the rest, he seemed to like them more and eat more than she did. She couldn't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm.

She went to sit down at the table where the owner had put the plate. Just when she sat down his companion went to sit on her shoulder and nuzzle her, which she at first didn't like but she got used to it sooner and she couldn't help but laugh about it and petted the bird, "Well I'm glad to know that. Nice name, Coda." she said as she turned to look at the bird shortly before looking at Hyõen. Right now it was allowed to leave her because it was getting a bit too much to her liking, but she didn't say it. She pretended a giggle when he asked about her magic, "It's called Sun's blessing. It's a light magic based on healing and defending."

He laughed a little by her compliment. Coda was a nice name, indeed. Despite that it had no apparent meaning or origin, Hyōen found it a suitable name for such a marvellous bird. Lacie then revealed her magic to Hyōen, calling it ‘Sun’s Blessing’. It sounded like some kind of light-type magic given by the holy-like name, and she confirmed that right after. She also mentioned that it focused on healing and defending, but that meant that she wasn’t the offensive type. Now that was a clear contrast between the two mages; Hyōen was all about offense, and his magic was a pure damage incarnation.

“W-What? Does that mean that you don’t need spells to knock someone out?” he curiously asked, whilst he did a sort of movement with two, clenched fists to further the meaning of his question, “… Damn, you must be pretty built. I kind of rely on my magic when it comes to knock a punch..!” He couldn’t but faintly laugh at his own words, while he also began to feel a little inferior. He tried to hide that feeling by stuffing a crepe into his mouth and remaining silent. There were still two crepes left until he would call it a day…

Lacie looked up from her crepe, eating it a lot slower than Hyõen, "That's the problem. I can't knock someone out. I'm not strong enough and my magic isn't made for actual fighting. But on the other hand, I do not like fighting so I would avoid it anyway." She wasn't sure if she completely understood the way magics worked but this was at least something. When he gave her an unfitting compliment, she couldn't help but blush, "Nope, I must be fast to avoid all that." she said with a little laugh. "It was nice to meet you two. But I have to go." she said after she finished the last bit of her crepe.

Exit.

”Huh, fair enough,” Hyōen replied. That meant that she must’ve relied on assistance from other mages if in combat, but as long as it didn’t bother her, then it would be fine. He still had a lot to learn out there, so he could relate a little; then again, he never fought another mage before, nor had he ever been accompanied by one during a mission.

After her departure, Hyōen was left with the remaining crepes. He ate to his heart’s desire, and the seller watched with awe at the scene. “Huhuhuhuh… that’s some gluttony you got there, boy,” he commented.
