Hinoki Theater's backstage was a whirlwind of activity as actors hurriedly prepared for the upcoming performance. Mielle stood amidst the chaos, a slight figure obscured by layers of elaborate costumes. She fidgeted with the edge of a deep blue kimono, adorned with intricate patterns that seemed to dance with a life of their own. The anticipation in the air was palpable, and Mielle couldn't shake the flutter of nerves in her porcelain chest.

Manager Yua, a graceful and composed figure, glided through the backstage chaos with an air of authority. Her keen eyes spotted Mielle and she approached with a warm smile, a stark contrast to the whirlwind of energy around them. "Mielle, my dear, you look positively enchanting. This costume suits you wonderfully," Manager Yua praised, her eyes twinkling with approval.

Mielle, her mask concealing any nervousness, returned a small smile. "Thank you, Manager Yua. I absolutely adore this outfit, it's so well-designed ~!" Mielle squeals.

Manager Yua chuckled softly. "That's the spirit, dear. Now, let me introduce you to Tomura Matsukaze. He'll be your sparring partner on stage," she said, guiding Mielle towards a corner where a man with a massive pompadour awaited.

Tomura Matsukaze, a B-Rank mage known for his theatrical performances and penchant for masks, turned to face them. His sharp gaze appraised Mielle, and he offered a nod in acknowledgment. "Mielle, is it? You're the one playing the antagonist tonight," he remarked, a hint of skepticism in his voice.

Mielle inclined her head. "Yes, that's right. I'll be the antagonist in the final act," she replied, a soft hum in her voice.

Tomura arched an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "You don't strike me as the physical type. Hope you won't slow me down out there," he commented, his tone bordering on condescension. Beneath her own mask Meille scowls in furry, and her mouth opens to launch her own retort.

Manager Yua intervened with a diplomatic smile. "Tomura, dear, Mielle may surprise you. She's here to bring a fresh perspective to our performance. Now, let's focus on making this play unforgettable." Thus Mielle was not able to verbally slap this arrogant man a new one. Too bad.

With that, the trio delved into preparations. Mielle underwent further costume adjustments, the layers of fabric creating an intricate ensemble that seemed to blend seamlessly with the mysterious allure of her character. Tomura, despite his initial skepticism, joined in the preparations with practiced ease, adjusting his own costume—a hero's attire adorned with vibrant hues.

As the minutes ticked away, Manager Yua offered words of encouragement to both actors. "Tonight's performance holds a special energy, and I have a feeling it will be extraordinary. Trust each other on that stage, and the magic will unfold," she advised, her eyes flitting between Mielle and Tomura.

The stage manager signaled that the performance was about to begin, and Manager Yua ushered Mielle and Tomura towards their respective positions. The curtain would soon rise, unveiling the world they were about to immerse themselves in.

Tomura cast a final scrutinizing glance at Mielle. "Let's hope you can keep up," he said, a challenge lingering in his words.

Mielle met his gaze, her masked expression betraying none of the uncertainty beneath. "I'll do my best to match your tempo, Tomura," she replied, a quiet determination in her voice, instead of the scathing words she wanted to say. It would not do to distract either of them before the performance. Mielle may have a temper, but she was still a professional. Thus she stepped forward past the curtains.

The stage awaited, and as the curtain ascended, the theater was plunged into a realm where reality blurred with the art of performance.

In the scripted finale, Tomura delivered a decisive strike, the hero's triumph celebrated with a flourish. Mielle, playing her part flawlessly, crumpled to the ground, her character meeting a dramatic demise. The curtains fell, signaling the end of the performance, and the theater erupted in applause.

Backstage, Manager Yua beamed with pride. "Bravo, both of you! That was absolutely spectacular," she exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

Tomura Matsukaze, momentarily shedding his hero persona, extended a hand to Mielle. "You held your own out there. Impressive," he admitted, a grudging respect evident in his tone.

Mielle, her mask concealing the exhilaration beneath, accepted the praise gracefully. "Thank you, Tomura. It was an honor to share the stage with you."

As the applause echoed through the theater, Manager Yua approached Mielle, a glint of appreciation in her eyes. "You brought a unique charm to the character, Mielle. I'm glad you joined us for this performance," she praised.

Mielle nodded, her porcelain features betraying a hint of a smile. "It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you for the opportunity, Manager Yua."

The festivities continued, the actors reveling in the success of their collaborative endeavor. Eventually, as the night waned, Manager Yua approached Mielle once more, a sealed envelope in hand.

"As promised, your well-earned reward," Manager Yua said, handing the envelope to Mielle. "And I hope this won't be the last time we see you on our stage. Your presence brought a certain enchantment to the theater."

Mielle accepted the envelope with gratitude. "I'd be delighted to return. Until next time, Manager Yua."
