The carriage began its journey with three individuals inside. Only two of them had truly been familiar with each other, while the man who sat across from them was a stranger. He clutched the covered Holy relic into his lap and gazed out of the window on the carriage. He wasn't a man of many words, something Alejandro could respect. However, the Light Dragon Slayer wanted to know more information about this prized possession. It wasn't just any ordinary item judging from the way he clutched the thing, that much was obvious, but what could it be? As the three of them sat in silence, Alejandro could feel the mysterious item almost pulling them towards it. There was this strange sense of...connection, that the young elf hadn't understood. Alas, they remained quiet and ignored the feeling. As much as they wanted to press a conversation with herald about what the item was, they decided against it.

Time was not a friend to the travelers. Judging from the position of the sun, in just a few hours time the sun would be setting. Usually summer time called for longer days, but not today. The seasons were bound to change in the weeks ahead so the sun seemed to be preparing itself for an early slumber. The horses hooves clicked against the ground. Not only was inside of the carriage silent, but outside of it was just as quiet. The Knights rode all around the carriage to protect it should any foe be silly enough to attempt an attack. While Alejandro always had in the back of their mind that something would emerge from the shadows, Herald's words ran in their head. The elder priest didn't expect anyone to attempt an attack. He was confident that he had created a unique path and would be able to escape the wrath of greed, but he was speaking from privilege.

A man like him seemed to have gone through a fair amount, but there was no way that he understood the world today. He was always cooped up in the church, protecting by the hundreds of guards stationed in the capital. As they rode through the forest it became much harder for the Stellan elf to hold their tongue. They wanted- no..they needed to know what was inside. At this point, it wasn't even because they were curious, it was moreso about why an entire platoon was needed to escort both him and the item to the Northern Region of Fiore. The North was mostly in its own world, or at least it seemed that way. Alejandro had a big chunk of family in the region but it was rare for people to make their way there. Worth Woodsea was a place claimed by the creatures and races that could not find solitude anywhere else in the country.

"Lord Herald." Alejandro said. Their aura of warmth grew colder and that short smile straightened its posture. The High Priest slowly turned to face the Lieutenant sitting beside him. He knew what was coming because he had promised to reveal this secret information, but something told Alejandro that he truly regretted having said that. It was too late though. "I suppose you want to know, now then. Well..." he began before fixing his posture. With a swift flick of his wrist the brown cloth was floating towards the floor of the carriage. There, Herald the High Priest revealed the wooden boxed that laid underneath. Happy glared at the magical box but the Stellan kept their eyes glued to Herald. It could have been fear, or perhaps even excitement that kept the Knight from instantly looking at the box. The Wood Elf waited patiently for Lord Herald to begin his explanation.

"The item inside of this box is called the Orb of Magi. It isn't just a Holy Relic, it's an ancient Holy Relic with power we have yet to tap into. People have killed for the Orb, seeking to use its power for their own personal gain. Some want it to wreak havoc on the world- and make no mistake- this relic has the power to do it..." click. Herald popped open the wooden box and inside a spherical golden orb rested upon the velvet laced sheets within. Alejandro's eyes widened. A flash of light so bright drowned the carriage in it's glory. Surely even the Knights outside of the vehicle could see it boom beyond the windows of the carriage. Alas, it was beautiful and the flash only lasted for a moment. It was not blinding, it was not harmful, only...healing. The Light Dragon Slayer could feel the depths of its power.

They felt oddly connected to it, though in that feeling there was a hint of displeasure. It was as if the orb was trying to pull their soul out of their body. "Do you feel it? It's the power of Lenux inside of the Orb." Herald smirked. "You see, Lenux was a man that had an ability known as Boundless light. His light was every lasting and his magical power was told to be infinite. Some thought that Lenux was the light, others thought that he was a god in his own right. The truth was, Lenux was a man with a gift. That's all. This Orb doesn't contain a portion of Lenux's power, it is a portion of Lenux's power." Alejandro glared into the orb, soaking in everything that they were taught. They couldn't pull away from its powers and to be honest, it wasn't like Alejandro wanted to.

As they fell deeper into the power of Lenux's light, they began to hear whispers, almost inside of their own head. They grew louder and louder until - "Ale?" Happy chimed, placing his hand onto his friends thigh. It was as if the elf's sense of time has escaped them because before they could realize, they were leaning into the orb, almost high off its power. "Oh...I-" Alejandro said as they pulled themselves back. They needed a moment to process why the hell that just happened. Herald, however, didn't seem to care. The Priest raised his eye browns in discernment before slamming the case. "Mhm..." Herald said before grabbing the cloth and throwing it back over the box. "If you weren't a Knight I'd think you were trying to take this Holy Relic. Watch yourself." Ale cleared shook their head nervously, chuckling with embarrassment. "No no! Haha, I don't know what took over me there."

No matter how much they tried, they couldn't hide their truly childish nature. It didn't take them long to return back to who they were pretending to be. For the remainder of the ride all three of them had settled in silence. Happy, of course, couldn't bask in silence for too long so he fell asleep almost immediately. Herald was slightly on edge now after seeing what had happened with Alejandro, so he kept his eyes glued to the box. Alejandro began to drift off into slumber. The trip had been peaceful so far, perhaps it was safe, they thought. How foolish of a thought. Just when they began to let their guard down; *Boom!* one of the wheels of the carriage broke. Quickly the Horseback Knights stopped and drew their weapons. Ale quickly jumped out of the carriage to see what had happened. "The wheel broke, damn." they said with a sigh.

"For god's sake! I just bought this-" TSWHEW before Herald could even finish his sentence and arrow zipped through the air and punctured the skull of one of the Knights. "Gagh!" the Knight said as his parting words from this earth. "Lord Herald." Alejandro grabbed the priest before hiding him behind the carriage. About eight more arrows zipped through the skies, hitting about two other men and the carriage rider. The other Knights began shooting arrows into nowhere. They had no idea where they were coming from but they were adamant on shooting whomever had shot at them. Alejandro ducked behind the carriage as well, trying to peek from behind to figure out where they were coming from. "In the trees!" Alejandro shouted. Quickly, the Knights shot their arrows towards the trees, hitting a few of the unknown attackers. Some of them fell from the ground, but then everything went silent.

From the shadows about 15 Assassins appeared and wasted no time in attacking the platoon. The array of arrows had finally halted and so Alejandro turned to Happy. "Stay with Herald." they said with a nod towards the exceed. Happy wasn't the strongest individual but he was amongst the toughest and most courageous. There wasn't a single doubt in Alejandro's mind about the exceeds ability to protect the priest. Quickly, the young elf jumped into battle and quickly it became bloody. The assassins were swift and nimble, dodging attacks from the Knights left and right. They were obviously experienced fighters. The Orb of Magi mst have been extraordinarily powerful if- "Rgh!" Alejandro turned to see that their leg had been sliced. Turning quickly, they kicked the same leg into the assassins face. The fight pursed out. Metal swords clashed against metal daggers, the turf was being painted with crimson red.

It became evident that they were losing. Alejandro stopped for a moment and watched as the Knights struggled to catch their bearings. They were being completely dominated. If Alejandro stayed any longer, they would soon be fighting a group of assassins on their own. With few Rune Knights on the field, Alejandro made the executive call. "Hold them off! We have a mission to finish!" They said before turning and sprinting towards happy and Herald. "We better not die, Lieutenant." Herald said filled with both anger and anxiety. "We won't." Happy said with a smile. "Come on." Alejandro grabbed Herald and began to make a run for it. Behind them screams and gasps of agony and pain filled the air. How many times had they witnessed death since they became a Knight? They lost count. From being in one of the safest households in the country to pursuing a life of thrill and danger, things have truly shifted entirely for the wood elf.

Arrows zipped and zoomed past the trio as they ran with their head ducked low. The Assassins were still on their ass. Moments like this aren't what Alejandro lived for. Of course there were a lot of other mages who enjoyed such an activity, they hoped to put their lives on the line in search of a sort of taboo type of fun amongst the Celdrua household. Even Happy liked the thrill, it was why he was always so eager to fight. Twigs snapped beneath their feet as they sprinted through the forest. Lord Herald would not let that box go. The Orb of Magi was too special- so special that they were willing to die for it. All they needed to do was continue running until they reached somewhere they could duck for cover. The Assassins couldn't stay on their trail forever. Ale led the group in a zig zag motion, making turns randomly to throw to assailants off their track.

Finally, after about ten long minutes of running it seemed like the coast was at last clear. "Hold on...I...need a break." Herald stopped bent over to catch his breath. Old people. It was hard trying to save them. The High Priest was no longer in his prime in terms of his physical capabilities."Don't take too long, father. We've got them off our trail for now, but they're lookin'." The Lieutenant looked down at their clothes, covered in blood, ruined with tears and dirt. "Happy." The elf nodded. The Exceed knew exactly what to do. Wings sprouted from out of their shoulder blades before the rose up into the sky to look around. "Here." Alejandro pulled out their flask full of water. Nobody wanted to carry a passed out High Priest with a chip on his shoulder, so water will do. Happy came down not long after to report what he saw. "Nothing."
