Departing from the cultists' company, Gundar had been tossing up and down a bag of jewels he had received from the cultists. This was a pretty lucrative day all things considered but it wasn't over just yet. They'd have to return back to the original client in order to collect the rest of their payment as well as learn about the next operation and its location. Heading back to the client's 'office', they had met with the man sitting at his desk and looking over some paperwork. When they had entered, he just looked up at them and pointed at them to have a seat. Sitting in the same place as he did before, Gundar had grunted and prepared himself to speak. However, there was no need as it seems the client had already known about the job's progress before they even arrived. He'd admit, this person's circle of information was quite skilled.

There were currently three people sitting down in a room, and one of them was recounting what the other two had done within the confines of the past few days. The man was obviously talking about Keita and Gundar, and he was the one that had given them the jobs in the first place. The two of them sat there and Keita wondered how much he actually knew, because the person keeping track of them was quite thorough in his information, and Keita also knew that people usually wouldn’t give out all of the information that they knew. Still, Keita didn’t have any secrets that could be used to blackmail him, but he would make sure to be careful after this, just in case. After the explanation and recounting of events, the man started to talk about their next mission, which was similar to what they had just done. IT was a mission designed to attack the priests.

The client had placed his hands together before turning around in the chair he was sitting in to reach over for their reward from their previous job. Taking out two bags, they jingled with the jewels they were so eagerly awaiting. Tossing one at each of them, Gundar had caught his before dumping it all out onto the table to count each and every last jewel, making it it's all there. Dwarves were rather meticulous about promised goods and always made sure people didn't try to cheat them, especially humans. Now that he was done counting them, it seems the client was ready to continue. On the east side of Oak, there was a group of priests returning from purifying some lands in hopes of stopping the undead menace. Their job this time was to eliminate the target in order to hinder their progress a little bit. Unfortunately, this group was a bit stronger than normal and were heavily guarded since tales of the church being infiltrated had surfaced.

Keita watched on as his partner Gundar unceremoniously dumped the contents of the bag of jewels that they had gotten as a reward for the last mission all over the table and started to meticulously count them in front of the man. Luckily this was a dark guild and everyone was suspicious of each other, so this was not counted as any form of disrespect by the man, and he simply waited until Gundar counted everything and put the pouch away before continuing on with what he was saying before. Keita ignored this and simply put his pouch away with the money as he listened to the explanation. After the man finished speaking, Keita nodded, as it seemed to be a rather straightforward mission this time. All they needed to do was to disrupt a bunch of priests going somewhere, they didn’t even need to kill them all, simply hinder them.

Taking this bit of information in, Gundar had leaned back in the seat he was sitting in. Nodding, he had decided to take on this quest as well since the payment was better than last time. Getting up from his seat, he grunted and decided it was time for them to leave and immediately set out on this quest. Exiting the client's 'office' Gundar had set out to the last known place the priest was rumored to be in. Getting to the eastern side of Oak with Keita if he had followed, Gundar decided it would be best to ask around to see if any priests were here recently. He didn't want to stand out too much though since his appearance was a bit jarring, compared to other dwarves so he wondered if he should try and dress up like an acolyte or something. Well, first he'd just ask around anyway in hopes somebody was dumb enough to mention it.

The game was afoot, and there seemed to be another facet to the mission this time, and it was the fact that the two of them would have to put on their detective hats and find the damned priests in the first place. Keita was a bit annoyed at this, as usually a mission would have some sort of destination, or at least some information that the two of them could go off of, but this time it seemed like they were hung out to dry. After walking out of the building and actually hitting the streets, Keita noticed that Gundar was simply going around asking people if they had seen any priests around there lately, making it extremely obvious that they were targeting them. Luckily for them, their guild insignias could easily be hidden, and so it didn’t really matter that the two of them wandered around asking for priests.

The civilians had been a bit wary of Gundar, a few telling him to sod off or just flat out not responding to his questions. This annoyed Gundar but it was to be expected as his affiliation wasn't exactly clear but it wasn't good either. Gundar was about to give up on this area until a seedy old man had taken notice of them, beckoning them closer. Gundar tilted his head thinking this was some sort of ploy but in the end he had nothing else to go off of. Walking closer to the man, Gundar wondered what he wanted until the man had said, "fifty jewels and the information you seek is yours" Gundar grunted as he reached into his pockets with no questions asked in order to hand the old man the compensation he had asked for. The old man looked around before telling Gundar and Keita the priests said they were heading back to the church.

Finally the two of them had a lead on where the priests were, as the two of them approached some shady looking man on the side of the road. The man was going to extort them for the information a bit, and although Keita would have preferred to just beat the information ouit of the random man, he didn’t want to make a big scene or anything, and Gundar was already pulling out the money to pay the man. As the man was paid, he started to spill the beans about the priest. “I saw a small group of the priests walking towards the old mill. There’s something going on there, but after a couple of hours, the priests all hurried back to the church, and some of them were injured.” The man described a bit in detail before jingling the jewels in a quick counting method and scurrying off before the two of them decided to change their mind.

Listening to the seedy old man's words, he had heard they were heading to a mill first before heading back to the church. He even said some of them look fairly wounded which Gundar had perked his ears up at. If they were already wounded, this would make their jobs much easier but Gundar couldn't help but wonder what was at the old mill to have done this to them. He wasn't curious enough to go looking for it as it was a fool's journey or so he thought to himself. Maybe when he was a bit stronger or wasn't on a task already he would do so. For now, Gundar would bow his head in order to thank them one more time before heading back to the church in order to confront the priests that they had been searching for. He was debating on whether he should prepare for battle now or if he should just wait a bit longer.

Keita and Gundar both got the information and immediately started heading towards the church that the priests were congregating towards. As they made their way through the streets of Oak towards the church, there were more and more people that seemed to be walking around. The traffic heading towards the church was getting quite heavy, and Keita saw that Gundar was acting a bit strange, as if he was unsure if he was going to just start swinging immediately. The crowds could help them actually if they used them to their advantage, and so Keita started thinking up a plan. The crowds could be used as a distraction, especially if they found a good spot to start firing from the crowd and then scatter when the crowd scattered. This would weaken the priests a bit as well. “Gundar, how about we use the crowd as a distraction?” Keita wanted Gundar’s input before he started blasting.

Heading towards the church, it seemed that the traffic and the amount of people were getting more and more crowded in the streets. He didn't know why this was happening but he knew that he wanted to get paid almost by any means necessary so when Keita had suggested using the crowd to their advantage of hurting the priests they had come to assassinate. He decided he would accept Keita's proposal but unfortunately, Gundar didn't know how they would use the crowd to their advantage so he had hoped Keita had a plan along with this suggestion. Turning his attention back to the path they were going, Gundar had wondered what all these people were gathering around this area for anyhow. He had hoped the priests weren't using them as some kind of shield. Maybe it was a deterrent to keep evildoers away for the time being or the like.

Keita looked around at the people around him, and it seemed that they were being wholly ignored by them, as all of the people were looking towards the church. Keita simply asked what was going on to a random passerby, and the man stated that the church was doing a special healing ritual, and apparently the healing ritual would affect the surrounding area as well, so anyone who had some aches or pains or light injuries could come and essentially get a free healing service. This made sense to Keita, although a lot of these people were fanatics, so there was a high chance they would simply ignore the two of them when they started attacking, as the crowd was dense enough. Soon enough, one of the head priests came out, and one could tell he was injured by the way he was limping. He went up to the podium as Keita started preparing his magic.

Now that Gundar knew what the plan was, he simply just followed Keita's lead and stood near him as he asked some random civilians what was going around this area. According to the man Keita had asked, the priests were doing some kind of healing ritual that would allow them to heal trivial injuries and some minor illnesses. Gundar grunted, wondering if that's all it takes for people to flock somewhere instead of just finding the means to do it themselves. Eventually, one of the priests came out with an obvious limp in his step to the podium with an obvious limp in his step. It seems the information the old man offered was indeed true. Gundar would pull the hooded mantle over his head, in an attempt to conceal his face as best as he could. Crouching to the ground, he had begun to coat his skin with grounds properties in order to defend himself before moving closer to the priest near the podium.

Keita watched as the priest came up to the podium and started to speak to the crowd. “Greetings everyone! We are here offering a wonderful service due to some unforeseen circumstances. The ritual we are about to perform will heal most light injuries and ailments, such as the common cold.” The priest then paused for a moment to the cheers of the crowd, and while the crowd was cheering, Keita noticed Gundar slip closer to the priests after using a bit of magic. The cheers hid the use of the magic circle as he did so, then moved closer. Keita took note of this and then decided that he would move closer as well, slowly slipping through the crowd as he pretended to cheer as well. Soon, the priest started to continue his speech. “The ceremony will now commence! Please be courteous and simply wait, and follow me in a silent prayer.” The priest said, putting his head down.

Listening to the priest's speech, Gundar had used this time to get closer to them as they distracted the crowd by drawing their gazes towards them. This was quite easy to do as there had been others attempting to force their way through the crowd in order to get closer to the preaching pastors. Soon, he would be in a short lunging range as he waited for the speech to end to see if he could find an opening and make note of the location of the main target of this assassination. Unfortunately, when the speech ended all he did was lower his head for a little bit but the original target had not come out. Well, this was fine as he figured the target would come out anyway if somebody from his faction were in danger or perished. With that, Gundar had emerged and lunged forward at the priest who lowered their head, delivering a swift uppercut to their head.

The head priest suddenly lowered his head in prayer and offered a silent prayer to the rest of the crowd. Gundar wasn’t having any of that, so there was definitely about to be a huge brawl that would hopefully get the target that the two of them needed to take down out of hiding in the back of the church somewhere. Immediately after the priest drooped his head in prayer, Gundar rushed forward and delivered a powerful uppercut to the man’s chin, causing the man to stumble backward onto the ground in pain. As he did so, the other priests all gasped in surprise, before hurrying to ready their staves and magics as the crowd started looking around. Keita decided to rile up the crowd, sweeping a large amount of compressed water around him, which would cause quite a bit of stinging pain, and once he did so, the crowd went crazy, hiding his own actions of targeting the priests with the staves.

After punching the priests in his chin, Gundar had to commit to his decision now as the other priests had taken note of his actions, they did not hesitate to ready their staves in order to deal with Gundar accordingly. As they did so, it seems Keita had also sprung into action and seemed to have caused an incident that made the crowd go stir crazy and panicking. As they rushed in all directions, they had also inadvertently run in the direction of the priests  which interrupted their magic channeling process which caused Gundar to respond by blending in with the crowd specifically running towards the priests in order to punch them each once and delivering a described blow. Eventually, Gundar had come across the main priest the client wanted dead, who seemed to be the leader of this entire operation and was now firing spells at everybody indiscriminately in order to prevent himself from getting hurt. Gundar snuck into his blind spot, delivering a swift blow to the back of his head before performing the decisive blow.

Gundar jumped in and used the distraction of the crowd to his advantage, attacking the priests and swiftly dispatching them. The crowd rushing in was a fantastic distraction, as there were a lot of people running in every direction, so Keita simply acted panicked and pretended to blend into the crowd. As he did so, there was a magic circle that was suddenly spawned under one of the priests. As the priest looked down at the magic circle, it seemed like he was panicking and simply fired an orb of light randomly to the closest person that he could see, which happened to be a random man with a balding head. The man got hit in the chest and screamed in pain before collapsing. The magic circle went off at around the same time, sending a geyser of water up into the sky, taking the priest with it. As he fell down, there was a bit of a crack and thump as some of his bones broke.

As he finished dispatching the assassination target, Gundar had turned his attention towards Keita that had been cleaning up the remaining priests here and there. After that the crowd that had all gathered here had finally dispersed, leaving only a handful of people that attempted to hide somewhere nearby or just gave up and cowered where they stood. It was time for Gundar and Keita to make a hasty retreat as they needed to get out of here before the authorities showed up. Hurrying towards Keita's location he nodded towards him, running past him and sprinting in the direction of their client's 'office'. In order to be safe, he decided to take some roundabout, long paths to make sure they might not be followed before returning to the client. Upon their return, Gundar had made Keita report how the results of the mission went before going to collect his reward and waiting for the next task to be completed.

Finally it seemed that the fight was over, after Keita had finished smashing some of the priests with some water until they were too exhausted to get up. They were beaten, battered, and bruised, but they were alive. Keita didn’t really feel like going around and finishing them off, as it was unnecessary and didn’t advance his goals in any meaningful way. Once all the priests were down and it was confirmed that they had finished off the target they had come here for, they both decided to leave. Keita weaved a bit through the crowd of people that were still there, stepping over the ones that had just given up before exiting the scene. The good guilds wouldn’t even get here for another fifteen minutes or so, so it didn’t matter if he fled fast or slow. Gundar had Keita report the results of their mission and grab the rewards, so he handed the jewels pouch to Gundar before leaving.
