Baska, a lively town. Loud and boisterous during their day to day activities as the people of that town selling or bartering their goods with each other. Famously known for its annual flea market, Baska became a modest trading hub for small merchants while also offering a place to rest for all weary travelers. Their annual flea market is well known because they have literally everything you are looking for, weapons, jewelry, armor, unique items, and even junks. But that’s not it, Baska is also well known because of its so-called “Baska’s Great Rock”. There are many combat tournaments hosted on top of it, connected by a small bridge directly to the rock, the top area of that rock is filled with a large ring and some merchants stalls selling beverages and snacks for everyone that watches those tournaments. The best part about all the tournaments that happened here is because the ability of the participants are not restricted.

The result of that rule means anyone can join the tournament literally including kids, tourists, travelers, and even rune knights. These tournaments are not just attracting tourists or travelers, but mostly fighters from all around the world. While some tourists might come to witness the greatness of all fighters in the tournaments, so many fighters came wanting to participate and trying to get the rewards by winning the tournament. But those things are only the nice things about Baska and the attraction that they offer to everyone around the world, despite the dark side of the story. The tournaments that were hosted at the “Baska’s Great Rock” for sure took so many lives from so many fighters. Not just one or two, but dozens of them fall down during the tournaments, as the unavoidable side of their tournament rules. People who came here to join the tournaments are mostly people who want to prove themselves stronger than the rest of the participants.

Since literally anyone is allowed to join, sometimes participants end up fighting against someone who is way stronger and having no mercy to show, resulting in the situation where some participant does not have any chance of survival during the fight. The rules only require a knockout or for a killing strike to be made obvious for the winner, but if someone decided to take the life of their opponents no one can stop them, and this truth behind the tournament is the reason why Achlys came to this place called “Baska’s Great Rock”. Few days ago, Achlys was in her place at Baska after arriving in town from Eternal Nightmare Guild Hall in Oak City. Her original plan here in Baska was actually to visit the famous flea market that will start in a few days, but something unexpected happened before that, it’s even pretty early if you really think about it.

During her arrival in Baska, she took her time to go around and look for some items in town. Despite the crowded situation that she hates, she keeps walking around to seek some items she wants. During that stroll around town, Achlys was surprised by what she saw on the street of Baska, something was going on. She was shocked to see some people on the street shouting and asking for attention from every single person walking by on that street. Those people are shouting out loud “Stop the tournament!!!” “Ban the tournament!!!” “Stop this violence show!!!” Those people seem really mad about that tournament, but they look exactly like local people. The way they dress, the way they look, the accent they have really tell people that they are local people. “But why do they hate the tournament that much?” Achlys has that thought in her head while looking at those people on the street.

Weirdly, those people shouting on the street show a different emotion besides anger. Achlys can clearly see that they are not just mad or angry about the tournament and all the bad things happened because of it, Achlys can sense another emotion from their face and their voice, she can sense sadness. The sadness from those people can clearly be seen on their face, and it turns out that those people are some family and relatives to some fighter, traveler, and some other people who ended up dying because of that tournament. They lost someone they really love and care about during that tournament. From their point of view, that tournament is not an attraction, it's a disaster. Achlys walks towards them to get a better view and to hear clearly what they have to say. Surprisingly, one of them grabs Achlys on her hand and begs her to help this woman to try and stop the tournament by defeating the current champion known for his brutality.

Curious with the reason behind those people's action on such a public open space, Achlys decided to listen to that woman's story. Achlys invites that woman to walk a little bit away from the crowd since she starts to feel bothered with so many people around her. That woman agrees to follow Achlys away from the crowd and then get into a restaurant that isn't really filled with any customers. When they take a seat, that woman starts to tell Achlys her story and the reason why she hates and wants the tournament to be stopped. “I will pay anyone who wants and is able to defeat the current champion in front of my eyes, and I’m willing to pay big amount of jewels only to see that guy get beaten up so badly, near the line of death, almost crossing it to the other side.” said the woman before she start telling her story.

“It was around this time on a great day last year, when my dearest boy told me that he wanted to join the “Baska’s Great Rock” tournament to prove himself to everyone, to prove that he was really growing up and getting stronger. I didn’t agree with his decision, but he keeps telling me that he will be fine, and he needs to show everyone how strong he got after his training for months. He promised me that he would know his limit and not force himself to fight against anyone, nor to win. But that was his last promise and my last time seeing his face before his death. He was killed by the merciless fighter that ended up winning that tournament by killing almost 20 participants in their battlefield. The guy who killed my son finally became the champion of that tournament, and not just receiving the prize of that tournament, he also got so many praises from everyone who watched that match.”

“I will pay anyone, anyone who wants to fight for me and defeat that merciless champion who killed my son. I really want to see his face get scared and beaten up, that will be enough for me to avenge the death of my son.” said that woman again. Hearing that offer made by the woman, Achlys seems to be smiling. Get the chance to participate in the famous tournament that attracts so many tourists and travelers from around the world, plus getting more jewels instead of just the winning prize. Of course Achlys feels interested with the offer from that woman, plus those items that she is looking for in this town flea market will cost her a lot of jewels, like a big amount of jewels. So Achlys is considering taking that request and claiming the jewels promised by that woman, plus she can test the power of the champion anyway.

Achlys finally agrees to take the request from that woman. She asks for extra jewels in case she goes too far and ends up killing the current champion of that tournament, but the woman makes her point that she doesn't need that champion to be killed, just beat up really really badly. “It’s part of your consequence for making a deal with the devil,” Says Achlys to that woman. No words come from that woman, while she just stays still on her seat looking down, she seems desperately in need of revenge for her kid. “Well, I really want that guy to pay the price for taking my kid’s life, but I never imagine that I want him to be dead. You’re the only one who wants to take my request and help me get my revenge, so you do you, do it the way you want it, do whatever necessary and I’ll give you the jewels I promise, I don’t really care about that champion’s life anyway.” Says that woman to Achlys.

Smirks appear on Achlys’s face, and then both of them start walking towards the “Baska’s Great Rock '', the area of the tournament where Achlys have to fight. They stop by the street where that woman and some other people are screaming and shouting for attention and help from the people who walk around them. That woman needs to take some of her stuff before the go to the arena, she also needs to tell her friend that she gets the help she looks for and this person might be able to help the others some other day in the future. Hearing what that woman says to her friends, Achlys thinks in her quiet voice “Just how many people get hurt because of this tournament?” “How many stupid people ended up losing their life because they think they’re strong enough to participate in the tournament?” “And how hard is it to understand that a fight with no basic rules basically means a fight to death”.

But Achlys keeps those thoughts in her head and says nothing about what that woman tells her friends, she just stays there waiting for that woman to finish gathering her stuff before she will take Achlys to the arena. When she’s done with her preparation, she finally walks to Achlys and guides her to the “Baska’s Great Rock” for the tournament. On their way to the arena, Achlys appearance caught so many eyes right to her. Those two tiny horns on the side of her head are easily noticed by the people around her. That look in the eyes of people around them makes Achlys feel uncomfortably mad about them. But Achlys is already used to that kind of attention, and she knows exactly how to react to that kind of look from people. They keep walking until they finally arrive at the “Baska’s Great Rock” and they can see there are so many people gathering there waiting for the tournament to start.

As they arrive there, Achlys can see so many kinds and types of people, fighters, travelers, tourists, merchants, all that people are gathering there for the tournament. Not just that, even the fighters come with different kinds of build, some look like a giant strong man and some other look like a small agile boy or girl who definitely have the ability to move pretty fast. She can even see those travelers and tourists who are definitely excited to see the attraction that brings them all here to Baska. When Achlys is looking around the arena, the woman who leads the way suddenly stops in front of her, and Achlys can clearly see how that woman focuses at one point, focuses on someone, looking straight to a guy all the way there at a distance. That strong looking mind on the other side of the arena, Achlys knows that she will have to defeat that guy soon.

But those people around the fighting area are people that mean nothing for Achlys. She can sense that none of them will be a problem for her, not even the champion that she needs to defeat, despite the appearance of that guy, Achlys doesn’t feel any strong presence from that guy or anyone around that arena. The woman that guides Achlys finally calls her and tells her that they have to do the registration for her to be able to join the tournament, and then guide her to walk towards the registration area. After all the registration is complete, Achlys and that woman wait for the tournament to start, until the announcer finally announces and calls the first two participants that will fight in that arena. When their name is being called, both of the participants get into the arena and start fighting each other, they seem to give it their best while having fun.

It seems like the first fight was just a fun fight between two travelers who don't really want to prove anything, and look like they just want to have fun and try to get the experience by joining the tournament. But looks like they are lucky because they don’t end up facing someone who is willing to fight to death. Achlys on the side of the arena was enjoying the show, she now gets why this tournament is really entertaining and becomes an attraction to a lot of people from around the world. But the crowd around her made her feel a little bit uncomfortable, so she decided to step back a little bit and get to a higher place to keep her view of the matches, and from that place she kept watching the tournament. She only get down when her name was called to the arena and got back to that high place straight away after winning her matches.

Match per match has finished, and Achlys has been fighting against some people with different styles and kinds. But from all that fight and matches that she’s done, none of them are really putting their lives into it, Achlys doesn't even have to give some real attack or spell to force her opponent to surrender. Now Achlys starts to think that maybe the champion of this tournament is the only one who put other people in danger. Achlys now gets excited and can’t really wait for the fight between her and the current champion. She can’t wait to see that face filled with fear right from his eyes. Achlys now thinks that the current champion needs to feel fear, maybe near the line of life and death so he knows how it feels to almost die. Till the time finally comes, this final match between Achlys and the current champion, Achlys can’t hide the smirk in her face because of excitement.

When Achlys gets into the arena and faces the current champion one on one, she can’t hide the smirk on her face. Achlys doesn’t even say any word and she releases a big amount of mana from her body, giving pressure in the air to suddenly change the atmosphere in the arena and the surrounding area. During that time Achlys can clearly see that her presence there can give so much fear for everyone around her, not only her opponent, but also some other people around the arena. By focusing her mana, Achlys makes a demon-shaped shadow behind her to scare the champion even more, and using that momentum, Achlys walk towards her opponent and punch him in the face offer and offer again. Because the current champion is full of fear, he can’t even move or fight back and ask for mercy. Achlys stops right when she feels like her opponent is at the edge of his life and starts walking towards the woman that hired her claiming her reward from that woman and leaves.
