Poropo Poproporp
Poropo was once again tasked with protecting a shop from thugs who wished to harm the business by ransacking and stealing valuable yet illegal goods. The shop was different than the usual shop from a few weeks ago, but the job was the same - if these shop owners just stopped selling illegal good then the monk would not have to stop thievery from taking place! Poropo waddled around the store thinking about whether he should take this job after all or just find a more peaceful job today, "I understand the shop needs to be protected from thieves, but if you and the other merchants within Magnolia keep selling illegal goods then this will keep happening forever!"

Kind Monk Poropo was not happy with the shop owners of Magnolia for selling illegal goods to begin with, but the illegal goods were also mostly harmless. Wine from a country at war, cigars from a remote village which makes recreational drugs, and various other recreational consumables which only harmed those who took too much. However, the monk did feel there was a reason these goods were illegal, but he could not put his finger on why, "I may not understand why these goods you and the others sell are illegal, but you need to take the proper steps to legalize rather than just sell."

"I get it, but you gotta help me out this one night! I beg you! I thought you were the Kind Monk of Fairy Tail! Please...please protect my store for the night..." the old woman begged the monk to protect her store and the illegal goods stashed in the back from thugs in the night. The monk could not say no to such a request, but he would need to be paid more than before if this job would be worth doing - the more the monk asked for the more likely the businesses would turn to less illegal goods in order to ultimately save money.

"Alright...in the name of the Iron Deity...I will protect your store for the night," begrudged the monk as he started to inspect the shop for any place a thug could sneak in and steal items in the dead of night. The monk was tired of protecting illegal goods when he could be protecting legal goods instead! However, legal goods were not stolen like illegal goods were - the allure of having and reselling an illegal good was much greater than doing normal selling or stealing. The value of stealing outweighed the risk when discussing illegal goods, "however, I will need to be paid extra - you need to learn your lesson...spread the word, too."

"Thank you so much, Kind Monk Poropo! Thank you! Thank you! I will pay you as much as you think is necessary...as long as my shop is not damaged and nothing is stolen," said the old woman in a serious manner - she meant business when she said she did not want anything to happen overnight. Paying extra meant getting extra services, which the monk did not intend when saying he needed to be paid more. However, there was no room for negotiation when the night was starting to creep in - Poropo needed to come up with a plan using all the time he could get.

"Thank you, too, for allowing me to be of service...I guess," mumbled the monk as the old woman began her closing procedures, leaving only the keys to her shop in the monk's hands for safekeeping - if the thugs really wanted to mess the store up, then they could sneak into the old woman's home and steal her shop keys, but for whatever reason the thugs had never once thought about smart plans. There was a time when they attempted to steal from different angles of entrance, but all were foiled in the end thanks to the monk's metallic helpers.

Speaking of his metallic helpers, the monk was actually without magic this time around - the Iron Deity saw fit to change how the monk's magic worked in order to provide him with better defenses and offenses, but at the cost of having to re-attune to many of the spells the monk once knew. Poropo was not all too satisfied with having to put himself into danger again to relearn spells he once knew, but the whatever path the Iron Deity lay before the monk would be a path he would travel, "Oh Iron Deity, place let tonight be a peaceful night."

Poropo hoped there would be no violence nor a need to scare anyone - the monk did have a staff to somewhat defend himself with, but the goal tonight would be to wait for the thugs to arrive and then bluff his way to victory! The monk set his fancy goggles on in order to look slightly more intimidating and then found a chair to sit in and wait - the thugs would see a large, Kind Monk Poropo sitting in a small chair with his fancy robes, goggles, and staff. Many piercings would adorn the monk, including magical earrings which were indestructible - Poropo was happy to deal with this mess in a different way, if everything resolved peacefully.

While the monk waited, he thought about all the entrances into the shop - they were locked, blocked, and impossible to enter without help from advanced magical spells, "which I used to be able to cast..." The monk was still a little sour about losing his connection to Iron Deity Magic, but the basic magic to summon metallic angels made of light was replaced with a cold magic to better protect the monk and deal with impurity more harshly. The monk had time to contemplate about his choice to not re-learn all his spells yet, "I should have probably re-learned how to summon the First Immortal at least - he was always helpful, especially in these situations..."

The First Immortal was the once who truly scared whatever thugs came to steal from the shops the monk protected, but this time the monk would be without the First Immortal. The donut-shaped metallic angel was simple waiting for the monk to re-learn the summoning technique, but now was not the time to morn or complain or even train! The monk had to watch out for whatever thugs would show up and attempt to negotiate with them to the best of his devote ability - peace was the only solution the monk had in mind tonight.

After about an hour after the night fell, the monk could hear the sound of thugish footsteps upon cobbled stone - the thugs where ready to arrive and attempt to steal from the shop. However, the monk would try a different way to shoo off the thugs instead of scaring them, "besides, the First Immortal was the scary one, hah...hah...right, I need to focus on bluffing." The monk intended to bluff his way out of this situation by show off a fighting stance he did not learn from anywhere - he would bluff how powerful he was and flaunt his reputation and status to all the thugs which would decide to mess with the shop tonight!

Stepping out of the shop instead of sitting and waiting, Poropo readied his fight stance and glared at the thugs coming to ransack the shop just behind the monk. "Halt!" shouted Poropo as he emphasized his stance. The thugs were different than the ones sent previously - the monk wondered what happen to change the people. Was there a change in management or were the previous thugs let go? The monk had no idea, but the thugs would need to decide quickly if they would halt or keep getting closer to Poropo.

The thugs did stop near a street lamp a few meters away from the shop - they seemed a little intimidated by the oddly dressed person standing guard in front of the shop. Poropo lowered his stance slightly and clunked his staff against the cobblestone in order to get their attention further, "I am in charge of guarding this place tonight - any who so choose to take another step in this direction will be met with the business end of my staff!" The monk clunked the staff against the cobblestone once more to emphasis he meant business - nobody would get in his way today, hopefully.

The thugs looked at each other and started to whisper - they seemed to know the monk based on their hand movements and pointing. Perhaps the previous thugs were able to give information about Kind Monk Poropo and his normal tactics before being let go. After a moment of conversing with each other, one of the thugs spoke up to Poropo, "are you Kind Monk Poropo?" Poropo was flattered and happy his name was recognized - the crux of this peaceful plan lay in the hands of his reputation after all!

"Yes! I am Kind Monk Poropo, protector of this shop!" shouted the monk in return, making sure he was heard.

The thugs went back to conversing after Poropo announced he was indeed Kind Monk Poropo of Fairy Tail fame - the monk's reputation was preceding him in all the right ways tonight, as long as no violence would ensue. The thugs conversed for longer and were also starting to whisper less and shout more - they were deciding if thievery was in their best interest. The word "boss" was said the loudest when someone wanted to make a point to stay and go against Poropo, but another phrase which sounded like "hell ring" was mentioned to counter arguments against thievery. Both sides of this debate had fair points which the monk could not completely understand, but the gist of the conversations could mostly be understand from context clues.

Poropo decided to try and throw the argument in his favor by taking a bold and dramatic step forward towards the thugs while shouting, "you have until I reach you to leave!" With every step, the monk changed his fake fighting stance in order to emphasis he meant business! In reality, the monk was just trying to scare the thugs away like always, but without abject horror being involved due to the absence of the First Immortal, "my hell rings are waiting inside to deal with you if you do not comply!"

The thugs began backing up whenever the monk took a step in their direction! The plan was working and the monk was elated enough to up the drama by shouting, "Leave for be tossed into hell by my devilish rings! Haaaaa!" The monk then began quickening his pace towards them with every step, eventually getting close to a proper run, but by the time the monk reached anywhere near the thugs the had already decided running was their best option! The monk was wholly satisfied by the thugs running away, "Yes, a good night tonight...thank you, Oh Iron Diety!" Kind Monk Poropo had achieved what he set out to do!

The monk returned to the shop and continued protecting despite knowing no more thugs would show their faces to the monk. Just in case, the monk occasionally checked the storage area of the shop to see if anyone had snuck in and stolen the illegal goods - nothing was gone and the monk was even more elated! When morning came, the monk was tired and sore from all the sitting and waiting - the actual bluffing was tough but no physically straining. The night was a success and the monk was paid more than he had been beforehand! The monk thanked the store owner while also advising her to clean up her store's merchandise.
