Kannon
Once again Kannon had a job to take care of. It appeared the young savanan had made a positive impression throughout the land and his presence was wanted elsewhere. Admittedly, he was flattered to know that his presence was desired as far as the north. Granted, not by many people, but that would change in time. Apparently, some people up north had spoken to both of Kannon’s former clients, and they were happy with his performance. The youth couldn’t help but feel a little satisfied with himself. He was a confident man and knew that whatever job he took he’d succeed at it. A proud man he shared none of the nervousness that afflicted his contemporaries. He would just do as requested of him and be done with it. Whatever this task entailed he was more than ready to confront it head on and did so with gusto.  But first Kannon opted to start the day with a balanced breakfast.  After getting out of bed he wanted to take a nice hot shower. The road between the north and west was a harsh one and left him feeling unclean. For the time being he’d been staying at a local inn, which provided all the meals he needed.

Kannon
The food was rather basic, especially the breakfast, which consisted of eggs, toast, and bacon. It wasn’t a terrible meal, but it wasn’t great either. It was just enough to leave him full for the day. As part of his daily routine Kannon started a shower as soon as he finished eating. After breakfast Kannon wasted zero time in leaving for his mission. He was nothing if not punctual. Even as he crossed paved roads and darted through dark alleys the wizard walked with purpose. Certain this job would begin and end like all of them did with him getting a little bit richer. Even though he’d only been in the city for a few days he knew the way to his client well enough. Of course, it wasn’t hard navigating when you had a map and a good sense of direction. When he arrived, an old man greeted him. The codger was surprised by Kannon’s youth expecting someone several decades his senior. Nevertheless, he escorted Kannon to the woman he’d be meeting with. On the way there they passed several large homes indicating that this client was quite wealthy. As he looked upon the large homes, he couldn’t help but feel a tinge of jealousy.

Kannon
When they arrived, a plump woman answered the door and quickly ushered them inside. The house was even larger than he though, and Kannon felt his jealous feelings expand. The mistress of the house soon revealed herself. She, like many others, indulged a few pleasantries before getting down to business. A shady woman she wanted to convert an abandoned building into a drug shop, but there was an issue. The building was a haven for gigantic rats that had made the dilapidated ruin into their home. Kannon had never done battle with monsters before, but he wasn’t concerned. The beast were flesh and bone like everything else he’d killed.  Once she was finished, he accepted her request and spared no time in leaving for his mission.  The trip to the building was short and uneventful, but it did build his anticipation for the mission ahead. Equipped with a torch and his magic, Kannon entered the decrepit structure. Almost immediately a giant rat attacked Kannon but was repelled by an aegis made of stygian black. In no time at all he summoned a grotesque blob of flesh that quickly scooped up the rat and devoured it alive. The rest of the mission consisted of this until he was able to slay the rats’ leader. On his way out he found a stash of money that made himn just a little bit richer.  With another mission completed, he returned home.
