HomeShe honestly can’t remember the last time her body was so sore. She didn’t want to leave the bed, she didn’t want to face the day, she just wanted to sleep and soak in a hot bath. Beams of sunlight peeked through her window and she knew she was on borrowed time. A inviting scent gave her further reason to leave her bed though she stuck in it for a few more minutes until a knock at her door told her she was laying in way too long. Sighing deeply she sat up, her tired stare at the door causing her a long pause before answering with a “ Come In! “. The door to her room creaked open slowly and Toshi peaked his dark haired head into the room before bringing his lithe body around. He bowed to her, it was cute but unneeded, and she was still too tired to correct him that he didn’t have to do that. “ Breakfast is ready. Taishiro and I will be the ones escorting the wolves and rebels to the capitol. It shouldn’t take us more than a day to go and come back. “ Hitomi nodded and acknowledged this before telling Toshi to make sure he and Taishiro had a safe journey. She would be devastated if something were to happen to them and she didn’t need their injuries or possible death on her mind right now. Once Toshi left and closed the door behind him, Hitomi slipped out of bed and into the bathroom.

She would switch up most of the roles of her and her group but some of the team were essential to their jobs. With two of her men out though some jobs wouldn’t be completed today and the workload on the villager would be less. She planned on giving everyone the day off tomorrow if the work completed matched the work from yesterday. Turning on the hot water in the tub she poured in some lavender oil and waited for it to fill up. Moving around her room towards the window that looked out over the town she smiled at the villagers preparing themselves for the day. The livestock that were captured were getting fed, the crops were already getting water and the soil turned. It looked like they didn’t need direction once they knew what to do. This was great honestly and she could tell that they earned their day off already. Moving back to the bathroom she slipped off her night clothes and slipped slowly into the tub. The heat relaxes her body and the smell from the lavender oil relaxes her mind. She slipped into the water until it was covering most of her body, all the way up to her mouth. Washing herself gently, Hitomi would be in the bath for only thirty minutes before getting out, draining the tub, and heading in for a quick ten minute shower. The rest of her time was spent getting ready to start the day.

She knew she would be working in the field today so the clothes had to be comfortable. Her breakfast must have been cold by now so she brushed her hair into a ponytail and bounced downstairs to mee the rest of the group, all of which were very silent. This silence caused Hitomi to stare at them with a look, a look that said “ someone better tell me what’s going on. “ Of course silence fell around the room a little longer until Taku stepped up. “ Lady Hit-” Hitomi put her hand up before Taku could finish. She had already spoken to them about using that “ Lady “ nonsense. She was not royalty and she was no noble. She understood that her family held those titles but she herself did not, she did not earn that so she could not take it, not now at least. Taku knew she had already spoken to him about his heavy use of formalities but he couldn’t help it, it was how he was raised. Clearing his throat and taking a step back he knew to respect Hitomi’s wishes. He just wished she would accept her place within the Minamoto clan and embrace it. With his head down for a moment he opened his mouth to speak but quickly stopped. Raising his head he looked into her eyes.

He is being transported home. There is speculation that due to your actions in helping Hildegard that some have looked to harm you, and they’ve done that by poisoning your grandfather. It’s speculation but through some investigation it may very well be true. “ His words shook Hitomi to the core in an instant. She almost couldn’t breathe and it showed as she nearly choked on the water she had been sipping. Coughing it up her bodyguards ran to her side but she stopped them, quickly standing up and holding her hand out. “ I’m..I’m fine “ she managed to cough out. A silence once again fell over the group one that everyone understood was of many emotions that must be cycled through before they could regroup mentally. Hitomi was no stranger to loss, but hearing this news didn’t make what she was feeling any easier to swallow. She had lost her mother and father, she had lost Odin to some extent, she lost Asmodeus, and now there was a very real chance she was going to lose her grandfather. Anger and sadness bubbled up within her. He was so worried about her, giving her all these men to watch over her, but he couldn’t even keep himself protected. Stupid. Stupid, kind-hearted, old man. She wanted to scream, she wanted to shout, she wanted to cry, she wanted someone to hurt as she was. This was someone’s fault. Someone who was an enemy of Hildegard.

Or perhaps Cassia? She didn’t know, she couldn’t know. “ They will pay. “ Her words came out as a seething whisper and the men around her stood up straight, as if a pack of dogs heard a command. Looking into the eyes of these men she could see that they would be at her beck and call. She could see the loyalty in their eyes and their unwavering ambition to outdo the other for her favor. Silent tears ran down her hot cheeks, her chest tightened causing her to ball her fist up. She couldn’t have anything. Was she cursed? Was this some sort of bullshit those people back in that shitty village pulled? Were they still upset that she nearly killed them all. Her mind tried to pick out pieces of a puzzle, a puzzle she had no idea how to put together, but she knew one thing for certain..” Someone will pay. I don’t care how many people. Taishiro and Taku transport the rebels and wolves to Hildegard and come right back to me. Toshi, Takumi, Takeo we are going to help the villagers with the brunt of the work and give them the rest of the things to do alone, we’ll come back and help them once we sort this out. “ Her mind was racing and she was hyper focused on the tasks at hand. Tomorrow would be a new day, a day that would be the beginning of the end for one of the royals of bosco.

They would learn how to take care of the crops, plants them, and those that already knew would share their knowledge. Normandi village needed to be self-sustainable if it wanted to have any chance of survival. Hitomi knew of Hildegards plans or at least she thought she did, even if that wasn’t the case Normandi needed to be one of the biggest things to come out of Bosco and it needed to learn how to take care of itself before it could protect itself. The day started off the same as yesterday. Everyone did their job as instructed and even more things got done due to people knowing what was expected of them. The hunting party consisted of Takumi taking the lead this time since Taku was out. He was to teach an even bigger group about hunting the wolves. They were not to kill any of the wolves but instead capture them in the most painless way possible. Takumi understood this and had plans to set traps that would just tangle the wolves up, something he taught the villagers who went with him. The village as big as it was, was still growing so Takumi also needed to bring back even more livestock on the list that Hitomi gave him. Instead of staying in one place Hitomi spread herself out to many different areas of the village and the jobs at hand.

The village was moving in unison, their combined efforts spoke volumes to the struggles that they all shared in losing their homes. Homes that couldn’t be rebuilt as they were razed to the ground, families that were also lost, and the lack of help from bosco with only Hildegard reaching out to these poor people and giving them hope. The hope they all shared but would not take for granted. This hope drove these people to work harder than she had ever seen anyone do before, she was impressed that even through all they had been through they could put aside their differences and work together. With all this work day turned into noon and noon turned into night. The day had been long but it didn’t feel that way being as busy as they were. On the second day they had gotten all the crops planted, more livestock was brought in and sorted into their pens, the water system was nearly complete, and the items for the wall were nearly collected. Many hands making short work was something that could be seen within Normandi village right now. Once the night took over the villagers packed up and set off to their homes. At this time Taishiro and Taku had come back and with them news that would light a fire in Hitomi. They had caught wind about who was responsible for her grandfather getting sick and it came from some low lives from the church.

Apparently these bastards were so upset that Brunhilde lost that they went to work for Cassia. They knew of Hitomi and the work she did against Brunhild, they blamed her for the loss even though it was really a group effort, one that she didn’t have a heavy hand in. Hitomi began to see red, crimson, like blood she wanted to strike against those who wronged her and her family. Tears welled up in her eyes and she could barely see. Falling to the ground she was quickly caught by Taku and lifted in his arms where she ugly cried in his chest. “ I want them. I WANT THEM IN MY HANDS. THEY ARE ALL AT FAULT. “ Her tears wouldn’t stop falling and she was starting to get a headache. Strong hands brushed her hair and soon she could feel warmth from all sides of her. Hitomi didn’t know how long she had been crying but it was long enough to exhaust her, long enough that she had fallen asleep in between the warmth of her family. Sleep wasn’t peaceful. She dreamt of losing each of the people in her life in horrible ways. She could not stop this and she was powerless as she was made to watch as each person perished before her eyes. Her weakness was shown with each death and it was made clear to her that she would only ever be weak unless she took action to protect what she loved.

Her room is empty and her clothes are still on. She felt like shit with a pounding headache and aching eyes. Slowly laying back down she pulled the covers over her head to reject the light of the sun. The bright morning light was terrible to her today and she wanted to stay hidden away from the world for just a little while longer. Praying never did much for her but she began to pray to any god that would listen. She prayed her grandfather would live, she prayed that he would be safe, she prayed that she could have the strength to have mercy on those who did this. She prayed in that bed for what seemed like hours until she was physically strong enough to get up out of bed. The world around her seemed a little bit more dim, a little less light filled her eyes, she was tired and stressed and the world wasn’t worth her kindness. Slipping from her bed she took a quick shower and threw on some clothes, it took her all but twenty minutes to get ready and be down the stairs. She was greeted with all the men who she had grown close to, her protectors, like pretty gems in a box they greeted her with a shine that she couldn’t be mad at. Toshi guided her over to the table for breakfast where they all ate silently. Once breakfast was over and the kitchen was clean it was onto more pressing matters.

She couldn’t strike down her own brand of justice without it. What she was told yesterday was speculation with some evidence that may point it being true. She needed absolute undeniable truth before she could do anything. “ Pack up, we are leaving for the capital today. I’ll explain everything to the village elder. The village can do without us for a while. We’ll be back to check their progress after we are done. “ The men nodded and began to do their tasks. Hitomi quickly left for the village elder who was at his home working out how to get more villagers from another village that got razed down. They had the space and the homes but they needed to figure out how to keep up with the food. Before she could explain that she was leaving she sat down with the elder to help him with his problem. Currently their main source of food comes from the river and foraging. The fish should be enough and whatever they could find outside of the village would help them get by until the crops came in and the livestock bred enough for them to have a continuous source of food. The village elder knew of some fishers in the village so getting the fish wouldn’t be a problem. Once that was taken care of Hitomi explained that she had to leave the village for a while. The training she gave the villagers should be enough to get them all by until she came back.

He did not want a reason. He thanked Hitomi for all she had done for him. Hitomi thanked the elder for his kindness and hospitality and when it was all said and done she departed back to the rest of her group. The sun was still high when they departed. Each with their own horse because taking a carriage wouldn’t get them to their destination nearly as quickly. Time wasn’t against them but Hitomi didn’t want to take any chances. First they needed to find the person where the information came from. From what she was told it sounded like someone from the church had been speaking about it. It was unfortunate that they didn’t know hell was about to rain on them. While Hitomi was rushing to Bosco’s capital a treacherous plot was brewing back in Normandi. While the villagers set to work the village elder was writing a letter to the church, alerting them of the upcoming storm. It seemed like betrayal but it was so much deeper than that. The village elder of Normandi had died the first day he was appointed the title. In his place a member of the church used his body and voice to puppet the village and for a while everything was going well, until it wasn’t. No one thought Hitomi would be back but she did come back and because of that the village thrived when it shouldn’t have. Because of Brunhilde’s defeat those who used to work under her flocked to Cassai and did deeds under her name that were underhanded.

The village elder who was really Father Mackey had been pushing the word of Illumin into the village but ever since Hitomi’s arrival the village had been thriving and growing into something great and Hildegard would be taking all the credit for it. All these demi-human voices would push Hildegard to the throne. Being one of the groups that were so looked over it was an advantage the beastmaster had that no one else could get a hold over. With Hitomi’s help it only made them stronger. This was the reason why Hitomi needed to be dealt with. No one could get close enough to her to take her right out so they hit her where it would hurt the most. The plan was to kill her grandfather so she would leave bosco alone, deeming it too dangerous but that wasn’t happening. Though the old man got really sick the plan was for him to die, the fact that he didn’t gave Hitomi something to fight for. They couldn’t be found out so Father Mackey made sure to send a heads up in a letter to give the church some time to clean up their trail. The letter was sent by bird, another mistake made. As Hitomi and her crew rode Takumi noticed the bird, his eyes sharper than his brothers he quickly shot it down. With a note tied to it, the damn thing wasn’t hard to see.

Since Takumi was the one that shot it he was the one to stop while the others rode on. Whatever that bird had that needed to be sent by bird and not by magic must not have been that important. Hitomi focused her attention on riding, that was until Takumi rode up next to her and read the contents of said letter. Stopping her horse, the rest of her group followed suit. Looking at the letter in Takumi’s hand, she took a deep breath and read it. Even though she heard what Takumi read to her she just had to see it for herself. Her blood began to boil, she couldn’t even breathe, she was on the verge of a full blown panic attack. What was this bullshit? Why was this happening to her right now? Why...She couldn’t even think as her men circled her, she didn’t know what was happening until she saw two horses running up behind them. Squinting her eyes she could see they were villagers from Normandi. It looked like two rabbits or maybe hare demi-humans. Turning her attention to the two, one female and one male both with white hair and red eyes, the girl with ears pointed upwards while the boy’s ears flopped down. The girl spoke up first. “ Please. You must come back to NormandI. The elder… I don’t know who that man is but he’s not the elder. He’s letting in Rebels and telling us we should have repented. “

Guild : Contract : Rank : Race : Experience : Reputation : Class : Magic : Aura : Strength : Speed : Constitution : Endurance : Intelligence : Mana : Hitomi raised her hand and looked at her men, nodding as she turned her horse back towards Normandi. “ Let's go. “ It was a good thing the group hadn’t made it too far away from the village but it was concerning how much damage had been done when they left. Getting off of her horse she quickly ran up to the village, her men following behind her with weapons drawn, each man with a different weapon that they specialized in. Stellan rebels were in fact inside the village though not as many as she thought. Quickly grabbing a sword Taku handed her she sliced her way through the first rebel she could. His blood spurted on her before his body fell to the ground. The quick work of her team took out most of the forces and when the numbers whittled down the men of the village began to rise up against them and capture some while killing others. The fighting lasted long as more rebels poured into the village. When they had enough time villagers were told to grab anything they could as a weapon and the mages were to do what they could while those who could not fight and children were to be moved somewhere safe. In the midst of all that fighting Hitomi didn’t forget about the elder and she soon sniffed him out. He wasn’t going to get away from her. She ended up finding him some miles away, running for his life. With Takumi at her side she had him shot off of his horse.

Once they caught up with him Hitomi quickly grabbed his leg and tied it to the saddle of her horse. “ If you don’t start telling me what I want to hear, you’ll find yourself dragged back to Normandi… “ The sniveling man began to cry and his disguise fell. “ I’ll tell you anything, just please don’t hurt me. '' Hitomi frowned and kicked the man in his side, causing him to shut up enough for her to think. The setting sun gave way to the twilight, as a full moon came into view and lit the earth below it. Heavy raindrops fell from the sky above while bouts of lightning danced, and thunder played. Slight winds picked up from the north, setting the scene for a calming night for some folks and dreary weather for others. Summer rains were always the worst, as it just brought along muggy weather with it and made it hard to breathe in any sort of air. Thankfully this was all happening during the dark hours or it would be unbearable when it was all over. In the middle of all this rain and nightfall was Hitomi was about to commit murder, wheather this man knew it or not was none of her concern. “ Tell me everything you know about what happened with my grandfather and who was responsible.. And you better know a cure for that fucking poison, and if you don’t know you better know who does, or your death will be long and painful“

When his mouth didn’t move she made sure the horse did to let him know she was very serious about killing him if he didn’t give up everything. After about an hour the man told her all she needed to know. Sending Takumi away to go get the cure for the poison and to send it to her grandfather, she learned that the people who were out to hurt her were a rogue group of church members who were supporting Cassai. At this point she was tired of this royal bullshit but she wasn’t about to let anyone get away with what happened. “ Thank you. “ Her last words to the man who had pissed, shit, and threw up on himself already out of fear. Hopping on her horse she kicked it’s sides and at top speeds it ran back towards Normandi. The screams of the man filled her in a way that nothing else could, it tasted good to have him suffer the way he did. By the time she got to Normandi his screams were no more, and his body was practically ribbons. She didn’t look back at his corpse once but when she got to the village all seemed back to normal. Her men brought her some rebel forces that were rounded up and the villagers were cleaning up the dead bodies of the rebels who weren’t so lucky to be captured. Taishiro had given her a report, no villager was dead though many were injured.

I want you to find anyone working under Cassai and kill anything they are trying to do to help her. If they are trying to get food somewhere, if they are trying to capture rebels, anything that makes Cassai look good, I want you to make it look bad. Kill those people if you have too. I don’t care… Just make sure her name runs through the goddamn mud. “ Looking at Taku and Toshi with a fire in her eyes they very much understood what they had to do. Hitomi looked at her remaining two bodyguards and gave them a sad smile before collapsing. Of course she didn’t hit the ground, they would never allow that as they caught her just in time. Hitomi was dirty, wet, and shivering. Today was one of the most stressful days she had ever encountered and it was all taking a toll on her. Taeko ran to get a female to undress and clean Hitomi in the comfort and privacy of her own room. He ended up finding another bat demi human which was just his luck. Leaving the two females alone he went to cook dinner with his brother. Hitomi on the other hand was fast asleep. Her body gave way to fatigue and so she didn’t even wake up when the demi human female undressed her, bathed her, and dressed her in clean dry clothes, tucking her into bed and leaving her to rest.

In that time so much disruption had been caused in Cassai’s camp that people were actively rebelling against her. Toshi managed to stop and slow all food and supplies getting to those who were promised it by Cassai. They paid off rogues and scoundrels to make the roads dangerous. On the flip side of that coin they made sure that if any food did get in that it was courtesy of Hildegard, garnering positivity amongst those that used to follow Cassai. Not only that, lies were spread about Cassai working with Brunhilde and the church, causing those who have been slight by the church to leave Cassai’s side and come to Hildegard’s side. While she recovered her team made sure things run smoothly within the village and outside of it. A new village elder was appointed and a burial was held for the old one. Each day someone would come by to clean Hitomi until she woke up about four day later, refreshed but very hungry. Once her group realized she was awake they rushed to her side and gave their reports and recounts on what happened while she was asleep, all while feeding her and brushing her hair. The best news came out that her grandfather was cured of the poison and was taking it easy himself, he had planned on coming back to Fiore but the family forbade it. Hitomi would thank her men before getting out of bed and requesting a meeting with the new villager elder, there were so many more things that needed to be done.
