Sirius Concerns [Quest: Farren] Empty Sat Mar 10, 2018 11:51 pm

Farren Claret
Farren once again found himself outside of Castle Phantasm after swearing to himself that he would never travel to this place ever again. He was now under the employ of Sirius Phantasm; the very same man that he'd met the previous day within the halls of the castle. He'd been personally requested by Sirius to work on something of the utmost importance. While he always enjoyed his ability to network and find work whenever necessary, he found it extremely strange that Sirius was able to contact him at all - let alone figure out that he was a member of Phantom Lord. However, as spooky as this initially seemed, the thought soon popped into his head that Sirius could have merely spoken with Dr. Mabuz and asked for information about the man that delivered the parcel the previous day.

With this in mind, the fact that Sirius had been able to find him so quickly was no longer as creepy as he'd initially thought. Though, he still found it strange that Sirius would personally request his assistance with something after only accomplishing one task for him. Maybe this was merely an opportunity of chance, and Sirius felt it was easier to request the skills of someone he'd recently encountered instead of trusting others with this matter. Whatever the reason, Farren was always up for tasks that could fill his pocket and increase his esteem. Lately, jobs seemed to be falling into his lap very easily, and he appreciated this immensely.

Today he was informed that he'd be working directly under Sirius for a task that would entail a fair amount of secrecy. Apparently, it was rumored that the Phantasm family was dealing with a snitch on the premises. When it came to families of such high esteem, one thing that they valued highly were employees and associates that held the ability to keep things close to the vest. Apparently, there were a few things spreading about the Phantasm family that made it very obvious that someone had been flapping their gums.

Sirius wasn't exactly sure where the leaks were coming from, but he was now taking strides to patch them up. He'd employed multiple others to investigate for him, yet, Farren's duty today would be to keep an eye on the masons. Thus, today's work would be exactly what it sounded like - Farren would have to endure some backbreaking labor in the hopes of sniffing out a potential snitch. He wasn't exactly enthused about having to actually participate in the masonry, but a job was a job. Hopefully he'd actually be able to do some detective work whilst aiding in the construction.

With his attire now changed to something that was suitable for the job he'd be doing and his station, he began to put himself to work. The first order of business appeared to be the moving of huge blocks of stone from one area to another. From the looks of things, it seemed that they were all manually moving these rocks without the aid of any sort of magic. Farren sighed deeply after realizing how long his day would be, and then promptly put himself to work.

He assisted the movement of the stones for what felt like ages. Multiple people were needed in order to pick up these stones and heave them over to areas in which they were needed for construction. The labor was indeed backbreaking, yet, Farren couldn't exactly complain about the workout he was getting as a result of this work. The increase in strength that he'd received from Dr. Mabuz's hex was aiding him immensely, and as a result of that he could also feel his strength increasing the longer he continued to assist with the construction.

When so many people spent time together and worked hard side by side, it doesn't take long for a sense of camaraderie to spread amongst a group. The same held true for the group of masons that Farren worked with. By working towards a shared goal, they were able to build a sense of trust and friendship in one another. This sense of trust seemed to have bloomed in one of the masons that soon began to talk about his dislike of the Phantasm family. Many of the other masons agreed with his sentiment, which then spurred the young man to admit that he'd told a few "secrets" to the enemies of the Phantasm's, just to get back at them. It was then that Farren knew he'd found the culprit.

He continued to work the rest of the day, and once their work was done and he bid farewell to his coworkers, he immediately reported his findings to Sirius. These guys were nice enough, but a job was a job. He wasn't being paid to make friends. With the information exchanged, and the jewels he'd been promised in hand, Farren made his exit.
