Overall: South's most notable feature is very spiky white hair, as well as his somewhat bright golden eyes. He has a generally slim body frame, and is a little bit under the average in terms of muscle mass. He however is taller than the average male, with very long legs. South's attire of choice is a red cloak with a cross on it, as well as a cross necklace hanging on his neck as well. Generally South with only wear formal or religious clothing, even in the cold of the winter months.

Personality

Personality: South is a man of Illumin first. Everything he does is painted in his religion, which one can say he is almost obsessed with. He admires Illumin, and one day wishes to become a divine being similar to his god. He is extremely violent to anyone that goes against his religion, though he still is not stupid enough to pick a fight with one much stronger than him. He believes that killing is alright as long as those he kills are sinners, thinking that those that defy Illumin are not even worthy to be walking on this earth.

In conversation, South speaks somewhat formally. He is a very knowledgeable person, having studied not only religious texts but those of history and other important topics as well. South certainly seems to think of himself as superior to other people in some regards, but still knows his place as a mortal, for now at least.

South is a very deluded man, believing in nothing but his own beliefs and what is written down in books. He is also very stubborn, and does not like being ordered around unless a person has earned a large deal of respect from him. South isn't exactly snobby in conversations at first, but rather he acts based on how he judges the faith of one's person.

Towards his guild, South puts on a fake smile. He is not actually faithful to Phantom Lord, them all being sinners - however, he too is the same as them in some regards, a killer. As such, he uses the guild as a tool for information for the time being, allowing him more resources and whatnot.

South is truly a puzzling man, and sometimes he does indeed feel as though there is more to life than simply his religion. But he is one to quickly brush off those feelings. After all, there are sinners to be purged.

Likes:

Illumin: South is a very faithful follower of Illumin, and thus it would only be natural that he loves the god. He makes sure to pray every day, as well as read verses whenever he can. He often attends church services in the towns he wanders to as well.
Musical Arts: South enjoys music and plays quite a bit, being one of his favorite and few pastimes. He usually likes tragedies the best as he finds most that are punished are sinners, which aligns with his own beliefs and motivations perfectly.

Dislikes:

Sinners: South is disgusted by all sinners of all types. He cannot stand anyone who dare go against the teachings of Illumin, even to the point of killing them.
Greed: South cannot stand those who desire monetary wealth over all, as it stands against his own personal beliefs.

Motivations:

Sacrifices: South's primary goal is to make those that he believes to be sinners into sacrifices for Illumin. This is his own personal belief of course, but in his dark and twisted mind he believes he will eventually rise to a divine being of sorts should he offer enough sacrifices. As such, it could be said his motivation is also to become a god of sorts himself.

Fears:

Insects: A childish fear of insects is one that South has, and it is simply just a phobia.
Reptiles: Similar to his fear of insects, reptiles revolt south because of their scaly nature. Once again, there is no real background to this fear, but rather it is simply a phobia.

Magic Description: Intense Faith Magic is a non-elemental magic that uses a spiritual energy in order to cast healing, defensive, other-buff and supplementary spells by manifesting and manipulating this spiritual energy into a physical form, which could be described as having a neon green color.

History

History: South was born into a family of highly religious followers of Illumin, one of his parents, his father to be exact, was the pastor at a neighborhood church in his hometown. South was always very religious, but he was even more so than all the other children, to the point where he would get very mad at them if they ever misbehaved or went against the teachings. This would lead to his father beginning to worry that his faith in Illumin was somewhat misguided or twisted in a way. By this time, South was 10 years of age.

South's father tried to talk to South about the issue many times, but it was difficult for the father and son to properly work things out. South couldn't help but feel like his father wasn't faithful to Illumin, at least in South's views. After several months of investigating, South would spy on the church's residents to see their sins. Disgusted by this, South collected all the intel he could and waited for the perfect church service when all the sinners were present. And when they were, he lit a fire at the back of the church, burning it all down along with the sinners who were present inside.

South didn't want to go home to his mother after that, and thus he was considered missing. He changed his last name unofficially to Aberouge, and wandered from town to town to attend church services. Eventually however, there was a town that interested him. Oak town was the name, and Phantom Lord was the game. The guild was full of sinners, but it did offer South tools that would allow him to purge the world of these sinners sooner. So, he decided to join, simply wishing to use them as long as he could until he would be able to burn them down to the ground as well.
