Erebus2

A morning never starts as beautiful as this one, and man was it a nice day to explore the city's square. Erebus had to admit the people here were a nice bunch. Too friendly for him to actually enjoy. But nice nonetheless. Not that it applied to himself really. Actually, maybe that's why he couldn't like them as much as they seemed to like the tourists. If you asked someone who knew him as Strategist, a lot of people would tell you that Erebus was on the meaner side of the alignment chart.

And he was. 'Mean' might even be softening it.

He was no hero at all, not by a long shot. He was a merciless agent of Grimoire Heart. A wanted fugitive. And speculated killer, though the death's were impossible to link him towards. After all, his appearance had changed since then. He was now a more muscular, blonde, lycan. He'd been this way for many moons now. Moons that he howled at with all the rage of a feral beast. After all, if stereotypes held true, that is exactly what a werewolf should be known for.

The man's body was blanketed by a dark green robe with a hood, and his Scarle Armor was fastened to his body underneath. A crown, known simply as the Diadem was tucked in his leather belt-strap. Whenever time for battle commenced, he could quickly place it on his head. The lycan was decked in gear even harder to afford than a rare material. He was just shy of the legendary rarity in his snazzy magic duds. However, to show them off? He usually wasn't the type that did anything like that. Hence they were covered up by the cloak mentioned earlier. After all, Erebus wasn't a fool. He could pick and choose his battles. Though he only ever strayed away when it carried ulterior motive. Just like yesterday. With that guy... What was his name again? Lenny or something?

Erebus waved the thought away. He found himself relaxing to a seat at the fountain in the focal point of the square. The area was pretty empty, and there didn't seem to be anything here except a clearing and a place to make wishes. Erebus didn't believe in that though, his hands stroked the still water. Today would bring about a great new change. One way or the other... Even if Erebus didn't expect it when he awoke that morning. Something about today would stand out in his memories long after.

"Okay."

Kenny
Kenny looked at the time and yawned, what a day this was. He wasn’t hungry, well scratch that, he wasn’t hungry at the moment. He could of course eat, maybe go out for some steak, some booze and head home for a workout. He looked at his watch, it was just about time for a workout. Yet he didn’t have anything particularly interesting to do today, so maybe he could push it back a bit, focus on something else like fishing or something. Fishing was fun, relaxed him, though nowadays he had began taking to spearfishing a little bit more hands on and fast paced than regular fishing, but why was he going on and on about fishing. It was a nice sunny day to fish too, must have been around what? Four P.M? Not a cloud in the sky, clear day with little to no chance of precipitation.

The only thing that could make today better was to see that pencil-necked scumbag from before uh… damn... Kenny couldn't even give his name a second thought... It was something stupid…  It couldn’t come to mind at the moment. Yet speak of the devil there was a green hood a good seven meters away from him,

Where they stood was of simple decor, stands on either side of them selling numerous objects from fruits to vegetables, the road was just 4 meters wide plenty of space and the stands, of course, had numerous stories behind them enough space for some philandering one might say.

“Ey you.” he called to the hood, you’re blocking’ the path mind stepping aside?”

One of his arms were rubbing his neck the other was in his pocket as his feet were shoulder width apart... Was the hood going to move or not?

Calling #1:

Erebus again, was sitting at a fountain, the area clear of much anything. So when a voice called out to him Erebus looked up from his spot, extracting three fingertips out of the water. His irses glimmered amber in the seconds he would stare. If he were attacked during or prior to speaking, Erebus would be alert enough to act and defend himself. He always was. You see, The Strategist was not of this world anymore. Rather, he was a creature of the night. A terror, a nightmare from folklore. A lycanthrope.

What am I in front of?

...

Ah, I see. Picking fights. That's something new.

The sight of this rather rugged individual made Erebus part his lips into a smile. Though his eyes had bags and his look was that of a drowsy alcoholic. Erebus was able to smell better than eyes could view. The scent of the all too familiar man lit up the Grimoire Heart's expectations. This was going to be a brilliant episode, but Kenny would be none the wiser if he didn't get put into place. This could be a promising encounter after all.

"I don't know if you came looking for conflict on purpose, or if you're just blind. But I'm enjoying my day out, go put your 'manliness' back in that girl and make yourself feel better. I have my fountain to stare into."

Erebus emulated a kiss at the stranger. Was Kenny a stranger still? Felt more like a rival or perhaps something else. Nevertheless, Erebus decided to piss someone off. Once that was the plan, the blonde rarely changed his chain of events. It was a sequence which he'd play out until Kenny knew he was below the criminal. Or before Kenny possibly came above.

There was a small bit of interest in this man. Always had been. However... Sometimes experiments malfunction. Erebus would fix this one without a moment's hesitation. Approximately seven meters, (23 feet), was the distance it would take to reach Erebus. At least over a second, and if it came to him engaging first he would approach this calmly. At least until primal rage came out, as it had many times before. Even against Yumi in the tournament. Erebus was skeptical of his opponent's power-- regardless of who that might be. He would not underestimate anyone. Not even this guy here.

But right now. He definitely would play the pre-game fight. Pushing others to lose control. That was a tactic worthy of use against dudes growing egos. It's exactly what Erebus would hope to abuse in this little scenario.

Kenny felt himself getting bored, he could see him talking but he wasn’t saying anything of worth but babble. “You have your fountain to stare into but you’re blocking the path. If you want to mindlessly stare at something like an idiot I’d recommend the sun to burn away whatever few brain cells you have left."

As interesting as it was to sit and talk, there were a few options, go through the stranger, ignore him or fight him head on. Decisions, decisions, Kenny weighed them, as much of a prick he is, he probably knew his way in a fight, someone with a name like ‘the strategist’ wasn’t to be taken lightly. Though he could have been the ‘strategist’ in a number of things, chess, checkers, wallowing among his fellow filth an assortment of things.

“Well, you seem ancy, if you would like to fight we can?” Kenny narrowed his eyes and didn’t take them off of the hood, he’d analyze him the best he could, couldn’t make out too much… Could have been wearing armor under that hoodie, what a good boy for bringing protection, must have been why he didn’t fight back at the diner. He needed the help. There was a thin line between being arrogant and being self-confident, someone with little to no self-confidence wouldn't understand what Kenny was thinking, someone weak minded would mistake growing pride for cockiness.

Kenny was in this man's debt, he helped him wake up from his depressed stupor and man up, but alas he would have to thank him after this conflict.

Erebus wasn't about to just give in to more unneeded chitter-chatter. The blonde snagged the diadem from under the robe and placed it over his face. Causing a scarlet glow for just a brief second. In the time Kenny spoke, Erebus had already jumped over the bench placed in front of himself. It was a foot or two from the fountain itself. After that movement onward, a scary wobble accompanied a creeping approach from the Grimoire Heart mage. Like he was stalking his meal.

Kenny was speaking. Throwing out threats that couldn't be backed up against a murderer.

Footsteps kept Strategist's pace slow, but the distance separating the adventurers grew thinner with ever stride. Twenty-three feet became sixteen feet after half a second, and from there it became ten feet in only two. All the while Erebus kept his hands ready to move upwards whenever the call was right. The advantage to being a hand-to-hand combatant, was simply that you didn't carry weapon, so you didn't have to lag your swing speed. You left yourself without range, a hefty weakness, in exchange for the ability to react a little quicker.

Erebus valued his hands. They were painted red already. Why side them as secondary assets, when they were his favorite tools. Today they would taste blood again.

Whether Kenny went for his weapon(?) or not, Erebus did not care. His eyes were trained on the 'confident'-boy's waist-- to identify any twitches or movements that might give away that he was plotting something. There was a scary light flickering in the pits of Strategist's eyes, a hungry flame igniting once more. The wolfman wasn't keen on running in fast sure, but he thirsted for competition. Such was the way of the lycan. His horrifying smile... His hood slung over his head... He was similar to a slasher film character. There was no sprint to him. He was patient. Creeping his target up, invoking dread, just a silence and a footstep.

If Erebus hadn't been attacked yet by Kenny, his distance would have moved him within attacking range in almost three seconds and because of Kenny wanting to speak, this would make his next movement almost eye grabbing. Erebus would push off a little quicker now. If successful his right hand would aim to clench Kenny by the throat. Should Erebus be halted anytime within his attack, he'd have been cautious enough to react accordingly as he neared point-blank radius. His hands now being pulled up as if to box with the cocky one. Erebus still remembered much of his training under Kaidou. Though his powers had been forgotten, his style had not. The lycan's feet were spread apart to weave at any given moment. Should an attack be aimed for him, Erebus could bend his knees and bob out. The chin was tucked, the squat initiated before the fist would ever travel at it's maximum speed to clench his enemy. However if an attack came for his lower body, Erebus was in stance to press away or side-step closing his distance. Erebus could also use the gauntlets around his wrists from his armor to parry. Which he'd definitely act upon if he saw the arising chance

Once the lycan would reach his target, and if all things were successful in his descent, The lycan would use his other open palm to block the foe from knee-ing him. Erebus would extend his stance to place a leg under the crotch of Kenny, and tangle around his dominant foot. The entire boxing stance was now abandoned for one of mixed martial arts. The exact technique once used in the martial arts tournament. Erebus hoped now to apply force against Kenny's closing esophagus, and make use of the trapped leg to slam the man on his back roughly and put him in the dirt.

If his attack went through correctly, Erebus would take steps backwards to recreate distance. Again, spreading, squatting, and tucking his chin while he held his hands up. He was back into his defensive mode.

Common sense was an interesting thing wasn’t it? Most men would think before they act, some would at least devise a plan before rushing, this was not the case for the strategist, instead of plotting he allowed Kenny to watch every move, when he began a slow pace Kenny continued to increase the gap between them what he thought to be him pacing fairly quickly was simply him advancing needlessly as he would find that sixteen feet turned into nineteen feet, and nineteen feet would soon become twenty two, see, Kenny had learned his lesson in fighting strangers if he let them get comfortable and have their way, he would lose every time.

With Erebus’ eyes on his waist

The distance continued to increase as Erebus got closer, he would force this man to come to him, but not in a mawl or a quick wipe, no instead Erebus had allowed for himself to be pushed further away from his target. Was Kenny running? No, but he saw that his opponent was donning armor and sooner or later he would have to run if he wanted to catch Kenny, even with a difference in speed if there was one present Kenny was just fast enough to keep a distance between the two unless Erebus ran after him.

Of course had Erebus closed the gap he would find his little combo to be quite… One might say nullified?

Once the Lycan was in Kenny’s vicinity instead of doing anything fancy or going for a cheap shot Kenny simply  stomped on Erebus’ foot that was placed under him, likely ending that adorable fighting post,  an easy task given that the stance erebus was in allowed for such a thing, shifted with a hop behind him with a rather quick pace while the Lycan registered the last shot and not one to waste time Kenny slid his hand underneath his chin, his other hand on the crown of his head and without a second thought swiftly… Snapped his neck to end the battle. How would Kenny do this?

Whilst taking the time to get into his fancy little position Kenny watched his movements, for him to think the adventurer to be daft was laughable and given that his armor didn’t protect his neck there was nothing for him to really have absorb the shot now was there?

And had the Lycan tried to escape the hold Kenny would shift into a rear naked choke at the first shake, given Erebus was only so fast, Kenny had more than enough speed at his own disposal to shift an arm  around the man's neck pushing down on the back of his head to cut air flow in a matter of seconds, as he wrapped his legs around his opponent's waist to avoid any unnecessary groin shots and put him to rest.

It only took what? A few second to choke someone out?

Erebus2

Erebus allowed his foe to take steps backwards as the lycan made a slow, literal walk, towards his target. The smile was indeed growing larger, and when it became obvious the distance was fleeting. Erebus had an idea of what was occurring. The only significant reason he could come up with was to wear Erebus of some stamina, while also prolonging the inevitable. Escaping the inevitable however... That was probably not going to happen any time soon, considering Erebus was superhuman-- while Kenny was barely up to par with a typical fighter. It was sadly just that simple. Eventually Kenny would find himself unable to run any longer, At most he gave himself an extra three seconds to formulate something. The best he had was not very much.

As stated, Kenny would have to quit running and when he did. He would be locked into his own timeline.

The insecure lady's man was attempting to raise a foot up and stomp Erebus dead in his tracks, but doing this would ultimately be his own undoing. You see, Erebus had doubled the speed of his movements when launching at such closer proximity. Not only that, Erebus was covered in armor so stomping a foot was practically nothing. It couldn't even be felt much unless extra time had been put up to squeeze it deeper. Either Kenny did literally nothing by it, or he was hoping to get dropped. Probably the later. The lycan allowed his foe to stomp the foot, negating, or rather, neglecting his first plan to trip the human completely. However, this left Erebus the perfect chance and the even more perfect timing that Kenny unwittingly created. Such time in fact, that Erebus would use it to jump into the offensive, long before his opponent could. While in the act of Kenny raising his knee. Erebus took advantage of his hands being completely free and his arms able to rocket jabs outward.

He could get a clean shot in. He could end it here... But Kenny was already fleeing again. or rather, bending off to flee. Erebus knew as his eyes were eyed upon the waistline, specified earlier. However, now they were picking up speed. Reading the fight and all the variables that could be manipulated.

The leg Erebus had tried to maneuver behind Kenny Omega, would be grounded to a stop, but the stance wouldn't. Which meant his target needed to be looking down at the feet to successfully land the blow. And he would, but now his entire chest and front was prone whilst Erebus was in attacking position. Erebus would grunt as the hit struck, but not enough strength would quell him or his fighting stance. In fact he hadn't even felt much power in that little action. Not in the slightest. Erebus had more Endurance than most, he could handle a little blow to his boot.

The figure of Erebus had immediately expanded, improving and shaping into a feral version. His eyes glowed yellow like that of the harvest moon. He was now a werewolf, and the change alone would spark utter surprise into the cocky individual. Not only that. But Erebus seemed to release a glowing aura that symbolized the dark guild he associated with. Sparking an even higher boost in power.

Kenny's legs would then be forced to bend and let off, considering he couldn't perform all of his moves to escape simultaneously; not coupled to a degree that was vastly potent to his own. Erebus would raise the fists, which were tucked at his chin, upward; not parrying them wildly, but lightly slapping and pushing the hands swung at him away. Causing the entire action to be rather funny in design. Heavily off balanced already, due to jumping off of a boot and quickly having your attack countered, Kenny would be completely open to eating damage. First the wolf jabbed a fast left fist outwards. Due to Kenny already leaning into a jump away, the strength of the blow aimed at his face would be more than enough to put him in the ground. But as the traditional boxer always came in with another from the right, Erebus would aim that one at the man's lower jaw-line. Either after being dodged, unlikely, or after the inital swing dealt damage.

With both of Ken's hands deflected, in a position that disallowed him to just change his mind, and no real way to get around a Lycan's overwhelming physical prowess. Erebus would await his opponent's knock out. If there was no knock-out, his eyes were now leveled with his enemy's. So he'd be ready to deal with the events as they addressed themselves.

With the Lycan in proximity he had stomped on the foot, of course he had armor on thus he wouldn’t be able to feel much of anything, thus in accordance with the now negated footstomp and lack of stun to be noticed. Kenny was in an awkward position in air, but alas in the corner of his eye, as they were fixated on Erebus’ left foot that had gone under him earlier and would be stepped on out of the corner of his eye he noticed the Lycan cocking back his right hand for a jab.

Whilst his fist was cocked back and launched Kenny bobbed the incoming jab , putting himself in an awkward position only for him to plant the foot not on Erebus’ left foot as he decided but straight to the ground instead, as they were just as fast as one another and it was more than seeable given the Lycan’s lack of trying in hindering Kenny’s attention, Kenny while still low weaved a jab into the Lycan’s jaw, given Erebus was still being carried by his own punch that had just missed, he was more than open for a quick shot that would travel with his momentum no doubt sending furthering his moment as his FACE was not protected by the armor nor his pretty little teira. After hitting the strat rat Kenny went low once again arms wrapping around the rat’s right knee lifting it up left shoulder pushing into the rat’s right side to keep him wobbling, Kenny kicked his own right leg up to secure Erebus’s right leg into his right arm, so he could now securely coil his Elbow around Erebus’ right calf, the Omega then Kicked Erebus’ left leg from under him with his own left leg sending the Lycan down in a takedown similar to that used in self defense courses and given the proximity of all things, Kenny could move twice as fast allowing him to do these things from start to finish swiftly.

After Erebus went down Kenny still head the right calf underneath his right arm and shifted back not hopping, or jumping backwards he shifted himself with a slide back a few feet keeping him out of the Lycan’s reach and dusted his hands. With Erebus still down and with that armor it would take him a moment to get up Kenny backed away and went up to a snack stand ordering one candy apple paying for it with two jewels, while all in the same having ERebus in the corner of his eye in case of yet another attack. After getting his apple the Omega simply left.

(OOC: Kenny bobbed underneath Erebus’ first jab and returned one of his own for 1 C-rank damage.)

Erebus2

Hits:

With Erebus landing his first mighty swing, his very next one would undoubtedly deal damage. With strength strong enough to crack bone, Kenny would need hospitalization afterwards. As said, after his first inital strikes the lycan would step-back. Having literally put face to facts. Kenny would now understand that his threats, taunts, and livelihood could not contend with a seasoned warrior. Not on Strategist's level. But someday, he'd be even further if he kept trying. Kenny that is.

Erebus smiled. His stance ending. The fight was over, and it took no more than a little chasing and some licks to the face to prove that even a confident man can make slip-ups. However, to say Kenny had not baffled the lycan slightly would be a lie. Erebus was surprised to find his enemy attempt to snap a neck. Especially in the dead center of town. But whatever. That simply meant he was by far, the craziest guy to ever throw hands against a Grimoire Heart member. A compliment that should be taken to heart, because Erebus had fought others who didn't even have chances to raise their hands. While Kenny had. He was... Interesting. Something for Erebus to watch.

Dusting off his shirt. The lycan left his knocked out friend on the ground. They'd meet again. No doubt about it.

Kenny’s confidence just wasn’t enough and he had made a mistake, one that he would no doubt learn from. He at the very least flinched and raised his shoulder the punch still strong given the guy had turned into a wolf. At the very least he actually fought this time, and though he was outclassed by his opponents transformation and armor one day he couldn’t be mad about taking this loss as there was a quick darkness and he spun with the punch landing on his back and onto the ground.

Even as he went down Kenny smiled, jaw heavily bruised and bleeding, the initial contact had knocked him out but he had a new respect for the strategist. ‘Strategist’ even his blackened state Kenny would keep this name pinned in the back of his mind. Right now he wasn’t strong enough but perhaps one day he could get stronger and they could face one another again but today Kenny was beaten and had no choice but to accept defeat as he rested.

There was a bit of commotion around, Kenny rested on the ground, eyes closed, smile on his face. Maybe next time. Someone had come and gotten him, a pair of medics summoned to obtain the downed Omega.

-thread end-
