Well basically sometimes when doing quests one might find themselves having finished it at a lower word count that required, and waffling on for another 100-200 words might overall ruin the story.

So the idea is; say someone turns in a quest at 900 words not 1000 it would be Okay but the rewards drastically get cut.

I just want to say that I would get the principle if you have to solo big requests from a higher rank. But 1000 words is easy and I can't imagine that some extra words added through the whole story can change the story of that one request a lot.

I get it's still both a different way of opinions. But I wanted to say this at the very least.

Wouldn't it be just another weight on mods who have to check missions, though? I mean, 100 and 200 words are so easy to make, you can start your quest with how your day started to add some more in or introspective character detailing for some development. Just because they are requests doesn't mean you can't do some misc, right? I'm sure that can help much more.

Besides, the site is expensive, so I don't think anyone would want to get a lower amount of reward from a quest they won't be able to do again. Gotta min n' max amirite.

Just flavor your lines, like if you're at 200 left to finishing, get distracted by that snack you had earlier that day, talk about how good that donut tastes, compare it to a better donut you had in the past. Then add some expressions to your face before getting back to the mission at hand. It'll help you stretch by quite a bit. Not like anyone cares what your char thinks about anyways. You could have flashbacks 24/7 and no one can say that it doesn't mean anything to you in character.

Random stuff like that will help you get  better control of length, at least until you become a bit better descriptive or etc.

Hey, I see what you are saying on this but sadly I don't see it happening. Aonaka is correct in that is does make it harder for us (as staff) to reward request like that. We would have to come up with a system for it as well which can take some work as well.

I know it happens but sometimes people might finish a request as 990 words for a D-rank. We then would have to give them a cut reward instead of just telling them they are short and they can add 10 words in somewhere to get a full reward.

This is just my opinion, not all of staffs though, but I feel like if you dont meet the word requirements you wont get rewarded
