Charlotte Harrison
A strange illness had been making its way through Magnolia Town. One that many couldn’t afford to pay for the medicine for. Charlotte had heard on the grapevine that the local church of Illumin had been working to aid those in need. Whilst this was in of itself fortunate, it was unfortunate that the church did not have enough help with administering the medicine, with only the young priest currently available to deal with everyone himself.

As such he had sent out a request for help to the magic guilds, one to which the young blue-haired woman had swiftly taken up. While the job wasn’t particularly high paying, Charlotte didn’t mind, it was a way to help the community and grow her influence within the town she had recently begun to call home. She had only met some previously through delivering cakes for the local bakery, but the conversations had been quite short due to how quickly she had to work to reduce the number of baked goods clogging up the building.

Upon entering the cathedral, Charlotte felt her heart sink. There were so many people, including some faces she recognised from her previous cake delivery job. Many were coughing and spluttering, and in the center of it all, a lone man trying to do the work of thirty as he tried to distribute the medicine to each and every sick person within the building. Gwendolyn who sat perched on her shoulder, shrank back, clearly not a fan of being in such close proximity with so many people, regardless of if they were contagious or not with some virus. The gryphon had never done well with crowds.

Charlotte petted and cooed to the feathered creature, attempting to calm her a little as she made her way through the sea of people towards the priest. Tapping him to get his attention. At first, he shrugged her off as another sick person, but the moment she told him she was here to help his face lit up with delight over no longer having to struggle alone.

He instructed the young woman on how to administer the medicine so she could in turn explain it to the patients before beginning to get to work. Charlotte had the line of people, split into two, allowing for faster flow as both the priest and herself took patients, and administered a portion while explaining how often they needed to take it and the dosage required for ongoing treatment. Ensuring each person repeated after them and even going so far as to write it down for each family in need, lest they forget.

Hours would tick by before the line that had streamed down the street, now only had a few patients remaining. The gryphon tamer could feel herself grow weary after repeating the process so many times. It was then that Father Jerad would tap her shoulder, giving her a gentle smile and giving her medicine to take herself along with the promised payment. Allowing her to retire for the evening. No doubt the priest would have more people tomorrow, but at least they had managed to reduce the number significantly with her help today.
