Busy busy busy. Truly a busy body these days, Alejandro was completely drained. It wasn't like they had done anything since coming home from vacation, but even vacation was proved to be rather tiring. Now, they were away from home staying in an inn purchased by the Rune Knights themselves. Why, you wonder? Well, The young Stellan was told to come to the east to oversee the city of Dahlia. apparently the werewolves, vampires and other more violent groups of people, had been wreaking havoc upon the city folk. Dahlia was a place where the creatures of darkness- both human and otherwise- could live out their wildest fantasies. Dahlia was a city that had been untouched by those who considered themselves good-doers. Yet even then, there were people who could not afford to live anywhere else in such a city. These people were constantly subjected to the terrors that came with living amongst demons and devils.

Alejandro did have a critique about the way Dahlia city was being handled. It wasn't just a safe haven for monsters, but it was also a nightmare for those who weren't monsters. Such was the way the system of capitalism worked. The poor suffered in the worst places imaginable and the rich got fat off of their hard work. Ale knew that they were apart of the few who benefited from the labor of the lower class, but that didn't mean it sat right with them. They weren't all that of an ambitious person though as of late, they frequently thought about all of the justice they could deliver to the masses. Imagine all of the good they could do with the privileges that came from being both a royal guard and a member of the Celdrua Household. Here they were, a Seventeen year old elf, pondering on the issues that their superiors should have been striving to fix.

No longer had the sun blessed the eastern region with its glory and grace. The moon controlled the skies above and the stars danced around her. Captain Kyro hadn't spoken to the Stellan in a day or so, so all seemed to be well for now. If a problem should arise, surely the Rune Knight captain would waste no time to call them. Happy and Ale basked in the darkness of boredom with nothing to do but twiddle their thumbs. Happy was stuffing his face with fish they had purchased from the merchants in Magnolia before they came to Dahlia and Ale? Well, they simply gazed up at the ceiling. The room was small. Much, much smaller than they were used to, but they had no real complaints. With their hands folded atop their stomach, they whistled. Dahlia city was far too quiet for a city that harbored the most villainous types of people.

"I can't sleep..." Alejandro finally said with a sigh. They broke the silence that haunted the room. Happy chomped away, swallowing his last piece of fish before responding. "Eat some fish, you'll probably be able to sleep once your belly is full." the exceed suggested. Unlike Happy, the wood-elf wasn't a fan of fish, much less raw fish. How could he even bite through the scales? Hell, how was he able to eat the bones like that? "Nah...no thanks. I dunno, something just doesn't feel right." Ale said. They couldn't exactly put a finger on it, but something was off. Dahlia city radiated this immense and intense amount of bloodlust. It was damn near smothering Alejandro. If it wasn't for their naturally durable body and superior senses they probably wouldn't have been able to take it at all. "Oh, I feel that way too. I thought it was just me..."

Happy turned to face his partner before frowning and giving his gaze to the floor beside him. "It's this city, Alé. I don't like it." The elf sighed. They shared the same sentiment. As an elf, they picked up on more spiritual energy a lot easier than normal folks. It seemed that Happy had the same heightened sixth sense. The Stellan Apprentice turned on their side to face their loyal new friend, tucking their arms under the pillow. "Don't worry, we won't be here for long." they said with a smile. Hopefully that was the truth. They expected Captain Kyro to call their lacrima device as soon as they touched down at this basically broken down inn. Alas, there was no word from their superior, at least not yet. Happy had finally finished his meal and before long he was snoring up a storm. Alejandro however remained awake. Hours passed, and they were still staring at the wall.

Out of nowhere, the Lacrima device on the Apprentices arm began to ring. Alejandro brought themselves up like a zombie, raised from the dead. To their surprise it was Captain Kyro calling. This late? They thought. They answered and there the Captain was behind his desk. "Captain Kyr-" they couldn't even get the words out. "Head to the Crossroads immediately. A platoon of Knights have engaged with a Lycan pack. Leave none of them alive." Alejandro stood up quickly, Happy had already woken up from the noise. "Understood." Ale said with a nod. There was no time to spoil. Captain Kyro was very clear about what needed to happen. Alejandro had never in their life murdered anyone, but tonight would have to be that night. Admittedly, they were relieved. If the people of Dahlia had to suffer and live under this much evil energy, the elf would be glad to eradicate some predators.

Alejandro didn't forget their newly purchased bow, and the duo zoomed out of the door and into the streets. Happy was ready to get down to business as well, though Alejandro didn't expect him to fight but they knew that the little blue Extalian creature would assist them anyway. Happy couldn't happen. It was funny how similar the two of them were. Kind, easy-going, yet a fire that could not be tamed when the match was sparked. In a matter of minutes Alejandro and happy approached the scene. Rune Knights had been scattered on the ground and Lycans had been tearing into them. There were approximately eight werewolves, two of which were children. Alejandro drew their bow, pulled back the string and fired a magical arrow from behind them. It struck through the chest of one of the wolves feasting on a knight. The rest of the pack turned to see who had arrived.

Two of them stepped forward while the others retreated with the children. They roared loud enough to wake the entire city. Happy charged in from above first. His wings spread and he darted towards them, most likely to use himself as a distraction. Alejandro shot another arrow as the Lycans reached for the flying feline, piercing his skull. The other Werewolf charged forward and again, Ale shot an arrow. That wolf too was dead. The Rune Knight Apprentice began sprinting in the direction that the other wolves had retreated to, but before they could move forward they stopped upon reaching the dead werewolves. All they could do is stare. Silence filled the air between them and Happy. "Hey...don't beat yourself up. It was either us, innocent people, or them." Happy said, but Alejandro could hear the sadness in his little voice. Just like that the Elven Knight had killed three living beings.

"The death of me..." they whispered to themselves before turning and sprinting forward. The hunt was on. When they were younger they'd go to Worth Woodsea to visit family and there they learned how to hunt. Their cousins taught them what they called "the laws of nature" so they weren't a stranger to hunting or gathering. Still, the Werewolves were laps ahead of them. They didn't have any special sensory techniques or super vision. All they had was a Happy. "They're up ahead!" Happy exclaimed. Suddenly they howled. Probably trying to contact the men they left behind but it was no use. Alejandro slowed down and prepared their bow for action as they approved the remaining five werewolves. Behind them stood two children, seemingly in fear. Captain Kyros words echoed in their head. "Leave none of them alive." he said. Alejandro and happy had hunted them down, they were standing in front of a run down building.

Tonight they would all have to die, but it wouldn't be easy for the elf. They were not a killer by nature- though tonight may have already changed that. This was the job their father signed them up for, one that went against their own code of conduct and their own morals. It was sad to say, but Alejandro was no longer that completely innocent kid. Were they really any different than these werewolves? Was this really justice? The three werewolves growled, preparing themselves for a fight, but if they were anything like the men before them it would only be a slaughter. Altogether the three of them pressed forward at impressive speeds. Alejandro lunged back and pulled their finger, shooting an arrow and striking one down. The other two came easy and they did the same. All Happy did was watch. Then, after all the adult werewolves were dead, something else happened.

The two children transformed into wolves. They weren't as large as the ones they had killed but they were still pretty large. "I don't want to do this, stop!" Alejandro said aloud. Happy swooned down to try and distract them but they wouldn't budge. If they were left alive they would probably follow in their packs footsteps and feast on the bodies of innocent people. Alejandro weaved and dodged their strikes, and Happy tried to pull them by the ears but nothing gave. With a sigh Alejandro pulled back their hand and shot an arrow, then did the same again, killing both baby werewolves. Happy gasped in awe. When it was done Alejandro fell to their knees and just stared at the child corpses. Slowly they lifted their arm and pressed the button on their Lacrima. Happy couldn't move, he was in shock. "Captain Kyro...it's done. None of the Knights survived and the Lycan pack is dead..." Ale said.
