Yugo
Yugo followed behind Captain Clearwater. He smiled at Yugo as he explained what they were doing for his first ever mission. The uniform he wore was tight and uncomfortable. Despite hours getting it tailored it was still snug in alot of places. The demi-human tail awkwardly protruded from his uniform as well. He hated the feeling the uniform made him feel. Like he was fully trapped in his own skin.

The training he had gotten from the healer had helped, but his vision was not as good as he would prefer. Captain Clearwater walked beside Yugo, making sure he didnt try to duck away. He had informed Yugo of their mission while they walked. They would attempt to deal with a wolf who had gotten free of his masters control. Yugo stayed silent, he didnt have a place to stand. Of course they would make this the first mission; they had to make sure he understood.

He smelled the wolf before he saw it, a special perk of being a Dragon Slayer. The wolf was large and it was nearby. He steered the captain toward it and once they reached the one entrance alley they stopped. Yugo smelled the blood, and realized it was a human. "Seems we caught him mid dinner."

The Captain nodded and patted Yugo on the back. "Go ahead, I'll only get involved if need be." The captain stepped back and Yugo huffed through his nose as he did his best to use his eyes. He didn't complain however, it wouldn't do him any good. The wolf's outline was fuzzy, and made it appear more like a blob then an actual wolf. From the smell and size and general bloobyness it was hard to guess it's real size. That was until he got close enough that it noticed him.

It turned around and Yugo could feel the bark of the beast in his chest. He was large alright. But he disnt immediately try to escape. It returned to eating in the corpse, the wet sounds hit Yugos ear in a new way then it had before. The smell was also stronger, he could almost taste the Iron in the air thanks to it. The wolf was injured around its body, most likely from the collar on its neck. Yugo knew that smell well. Infection and dried blood were a bad smell mix.

He took a step forward and the wolf turned growling and snarling this time. It had given them the chance to leave, but now it felt threatened, Yugos ear picked up the sound of metal against the brick pavement. He asked the captain how long the chain was, and the captain remarked that it was long enough. Yugo nodded and ran toward the wolf, who in turn ran toward him.

The wolf leaped past Yugo who managed to dodge last second to avoid another new facial scar. He grabbed the end of the chain as it tried to fly past his fast as well, before with a mighty roar he pulled the chain hard, snapping the wolf's neck painlessly. The wolf hot the ground dead, Yugo was knelt from snapping its neck, and he dropped the chain as he panted.

He had seen something. When the wolf jumped by him, he had realized the vision wasnt as bad as he thought it was. He just needed to refine it. He had seen the outline of the beast from close range as if he could actually see it. The captain thanked Yugo for what he did, he gave it a quick death and that was a kindness. Yugo grunted and stood before picking up the lifeless wolf.

It was heavy, and the chain dragged on the ground still. The Captain called in for support, and then followed Yugo to bury the animal in the forest outside Era. They gave it a proper burial, with Yugo breaking the collar off and bending it into a grave marker. He felt pity for that beast. He would probably end up just like him, choked my life till dead.

The two stood and left, returning to collect their payment and deposit it. The Captain had a Strict control of yugos money, another way to keep him in check. Despite being out of the cell he still felt like a prisoner. He wondered if he would ever feel free again. He promised himself to one day, he would be free again. And no one would take it from him again.

The two made their way back to Yugos living quarters. When he easnt out with the captain, he went allowed to leave the base of operations for the rune knights. As they walked back in, Yugo could feel everyone staring at him. The daggers he felt were ones he was used to, he always got looks like that given his demi-human status. But it didnt matter once they reached the door to the base, the captain spoke and they quickly let them both in without any issue. Though the daggers did not return to their owner as Yugo walked inside.

He and the captain filled out the paperwork over the details of the Mission, and submitted it to the higher ups for approval. They waited till the paper work was done before finally heading to the barracks, Yugo  thanked the captain then went to his bed as he was always instructed to do. He sat down on the mattress and sighed before practicing his vision again. He had almost seen the wolf's outline, it meant his eyes weren't as bad as he though, and it meant one day he may regain their full use. He promised himself to keep strong, one day hed be able to see, but until then be needed to remain on his best behaviour. He couldnt risk another trial. He just needed to wait, and learn. One day he knew hed be free. He knew he would be.
