Arriving at the Main gates of Era, Shichiro stared at them briefly, haven't been present here for awhile. The troupe he joined had been marching for a couple days, taking short rests of course to make camp. As they continued through the main gate, they marched as if they were some sort of parade entertaining nobles and wealthy men. Shichiro was already starting to have second doubts about if he truly wanted to join this guild or not. All he could do to convince himself not to back down now was the thrill of being able to hunt live, sentient human beings for jewels and maybe portion of their on-hand jewels, heh heh. Persevering, he continued to imitate the marching of the troupe he was in until they all had managed to get to the Rune Knights headquarters. For some reason, he thought it would look a bit more official but it didn't seem any different from just being in a guild of some kind. This was a bit disappointing but at least he might be able to get comfortable quickly with how familiar the atmosphere feels. There wasn't many people to boot either as he had already expected it to be. Entering the Rune Knight's hall, it was time for them to start sorting the new members into factions that would best suit them on their prior experiences. However before that, they were all reminded that they had to go through a background cherck to make sure they weren't admitting known criminals into the Rune Knights tht could be potential spies and what not. This was the part Scyxion dreaded as he already knew his past wasn't exactly clean. He was apart of a bandit clan back in the day when he was a teenager, robbing settlements and the like.

He doubted they would be able to identify him, going that far back in time and all but he wanted to at least make sure he could deny it with enough plausibility. On the other hand, he was guilty of some wrong doings involving assault, robbery and other petty crimes. Surely, they'd be able to find and pin all of that on him, no questions asked. After they entered the building, the burly woman he had met directed them to a large hall in which the began to merge with other other recruitment troupes. As far as he could tell, the one he was apart happened to be the third smallest one. Probably wasn't having much luck in general. In total there were five troupes of new recruits altogether. After they had all been gather together, they began to give a speech about the guild laws, what they expected their knights do and how to act. It was all quite flowery for the most part but nothing Shichiro hadn't heard said or done before back when he joined any other light guild. Listening attentively, he decided it was in his best interest to do so incase anything new might have been added. When all was said and done, the only thing new he had gathered was bad quests were strictly prohibited. Even thinking about doing one would get you kicked out. Well, Shichiro already knew half of his contracts were going to go up in smoke but its whatever. As long as he could hunt people down for money, it would suffice. Now it was time for the thing he dreaded for most of the trip, the background checks. When they were done with the ceremony, they were all lined up in single file waiting to answer some questions and be checked.

Shichiro was somewhere around the front of the line where a few of them were going in first. Waiting his turn, Shichiro twiddled his thumbs a bit. Some people went in and came out fairly quickly, others never came back out. He wondered what that was like but he figured he'd be finding out shortly. After waiting a little while, it was finally his turn to step into one of the secluded rooms in order to answer some questions. Inside was an examiner, a person he did not recognize. He was told to sit down on a nearby stool and wait a few seconds before the person in front of him asked him some questions about his person. Answering them all truthfully, he figured it was best to be upfront about it and wait for a verdict. The person had nodded and looked at the paper blankly before telling Shichiro to wait, exiting the room with some haste. A few minutes passed before somebody entered the room which wasn't the person that asked the questions but the burly woman who had recruited him the first time. She had sat down in the chair the examiner was in, contemplating on what to say. Shichiro already knew he was being judged but it didn't matter to him at the moment, he wished she dropped the suspenseful part of this play and get on with it. Pressing her fingertips together she finally had spoken to him, saying after their background check, they had found out he was a wanted criminal that was worth over six hundred thousand jewels. Shichiro just chuckled a bit at how big it got but this probably wasn't the best time for this sort of thing. Staring at him, she tapped her fingers wondering what his game was but didn't ask outwardly.

So instead, Shichiro told her he was aware of everything and was aware that coming here would involve his identity being discovered eventually. She then followed up by asking why he'd do it if he knew it would risk getting caught to which Shichiro responded, that he would have liked to come clean and not be bound by the bounty placed n his head. He also said he was tired of doing menial tasks for little pay out nd wanted to make a bigger name for himself and the best way to do that was join the knights. Whatever consequences he'd suffer he'd do it if it means he could join the knights. Nodding her head, she gave a sigh deciding that this was the right thing to do but she couldn't in good conscious just let him join with a large bounty on his head as that would of course have major questions about the integrity of the Rune Knights. So instead, she gave him the choice of being able to pay of his bounty plus interest or to go to jail and serve his sentence and maybe when he got out, there would still be room for him to join the knights a Lieutenant, maybe even a captain. Knowing he did not have much of a choice, he figured he'd go with serving his sentence rather than paying them off with the hard earn jewels he's managed to scrounge up. Making his choice, the woman nodded before instructing Shichiro to stand up, placing him under arrest, handcuffing him. Complying, Shichiro was led to Era's dungeon where he was sentenced to some time in the dungeons and some labor. He wasn't upset with the verdict as he could probably get out if he was on his best behavior which was great.

Shichiro served his sentence quietly and sucked up the ridicule and a few beatings that were dished out after word had spread that he was doing this only to become a magic pig, or so they called him. A few times, Shichiro wanted to lash out and fight back but he knew that would only get him a longer sentence and he really wanted to get out of here as soon as possible so he just continued to suck it up. After a couple of weeks had passed, Shichiro was working out in his cell when the burly woman had came to get him with two other guards. He was a bit puzzled but he figured, he'd have to answer some questions about why he got into another fight again. being ushered from the dungeon, he was brought back to the Rune Knights and had his shackles undone. This confused him cause today wasn't the day he was suppose to be released. The burly woman began to speak and told him she had managed to pull a few favors to have him get out sooner than his actual sentence on top of his good behavior and complying with the rules in the dungeons. Shichiro was surprised but at least he felt his effort was rewarded since often times he wanted to maim his assailants. Now, the woman had asked Shichiro if he still wanted to join the Rune Knights despite all that had transpired and Shichiro agreed without hesitation as he didn't want to go through all of that trouble for nothing. All the other recruits he had joined up with him were ahead with their Page training and he wanted to catch up as soon as possible. The burly woman smiled and laughed heartily before releasing Shichiro and leading him back to the main hall.
