Masami
Indeed, Masami had stayed in the cathedral for a day as he was given the chance to, using this opportunity as a chance to live while he was still in Magnolia City, waiting for his guild master to hopefully come back to pick him up. The next morning, Father Jerad has gone sick and now was unable to move away from his bed. Nobody, not even Masami, is allowed to go near him, otherwise they'll also get sick. There are major differences when comparing shrines to cathedrals or churches; surely, the boy—Masami—was as uncomfortable as he was. This wasn't his culture nor religion, neither was he comfortable listening to choir practices even if they were performed by children the same age as him or younger. When he was told that Father Jerad was sick and that they needed youths to assist him, Masami was one of those who had volunteered. He had to make up for the food they gave him, as if he were an orphan, and his clothes were also fresh despite wearing the same fabrics as the choir children.

Keeping his distance as he was told and given instructions upon the "Blessia" flower's nectar extraction, Masami did as he was told and made attempts in assisting the sick people by the afternoon. How come their illnesses have never stopped, and can't they depend on somewhere else other than the cathedral? Where would they go if not Father Jerad's presence? Masami was foreign of look even if his Fiorian pronunciation is on point, thus people could not look at Masami with no ease, because he was not Father Jerad and that they had wondered if they would do well. At the same time, he was of unfamiliar face; Magnolia City isn't like the familiar Hosenka and wasn't making Masami feel at home. The clothes, despite completely fitting him, did not feel like clothes at all. They had restricted movement and even though Masami liked different cultures (albeit preferred Joyan culture most), he had wanted to get away. He did not feel like himself at all.

At the point where he was unable to smile properly, Masami couldn't even look at the child who did not want to drink the cure. If he wanted to get well, why isn't he willing to sacrifice himself? Not everyone gets free healing aids like this; the thought of suffering Joyan men had ticked Masami off. When he looked down at the child who had started to cry because Masami held his wrists with force, Masami uttered, "You better drink up—otherwise, I'll force this down to your throat."
