Masami had veiled himself behind a demon mask when he played the role of a warrior. Although there was a big irony symbolized in the role, considering that it would be a hypocritical theater if foreigners take view the lores lightly, Masami himself had already understood what those symbols meant. Not all heroes tell everybody that they're heroes—in fact, many people who are known as heroes now were defined as malevolent in the past. Masami had kept this knowledge until now, and he will remain remembering until the day of his last breath.

When he walked in the streets of Marigold, there was an oni mask that hung at the side of Masami's head. He'd rarely wear this outside of Joya, considering that it does not seem very appealing to many. Using demons as symbolism is believed to bring bad omen, or even curses, but the mask had become a symbol of Masami's home. He would admit that it was slightly awkward at first, wearing something unusual outside in the streets, but then he had gotten used to it every time he forgets that he'd been wearing the head gear. It has no magical uses, whatsoever, unfortunately.

He was told to go to the theater today to help out once more. He had played the side roles, the antagonist and the protagonist role. It was starting to bore him, because unlike in Joya, Marigold's theater was more pleasant (in an unpleasant way) and graceful (in an ungraceful way) and that it had been becoming more and more uncomfortable. However, because Masami had been so used to this sort of effort and dedication towards his work, he complained not and left the guild early in the morning to conduct this quest. As usual, he has been expecting something in return.

The performer had been going straight to the theater every day since the past week, taking care of his time, knowing that he'll be leaving Marigold soon by the next month. As one of the newest member of Penumbral Guard, Masami is determined to at least making up some reputation, both for the guild and himself (never leaving his own self, ever). However, boredom was entirely unexpected. Masami had started to become more and more sluggish the more days had passed, doing the same routine. Although Masami rarely ever complains, he already had thoughts unto why his hometown in Joya is much more preferable than... Marigold City itself. He liked it here, at first, however.

It was so busy back then in Joya that everyday's routine was no ordinary routine. Everyone is not hypnotized to work, nor even had the time to dwell in their own emotions because of the amount of work given to them. Masami was so busy that he had forgotten to complain nor become depressed, neither did he even think about dozing off or becoming slothful. The sudden bursts of energy was the reason why his hometown remained as busy as that, and it was only now that Masami had learned to become extremely grateful of the experiences of the past, as if he doesn't belong to where he is now. The feeling was entirely, uncomfortably melancholic, as if this was already his second life... was it not?

No need to be greedy. Masami had his footsteps slowing down on each step, lowkey not wanting to go to work. Nobody is forcing him, which was why he had no motivation at all. Neither the theater workers nor the guild members are forcing Masami to work at all, he could immediately go back home if he wanted to, except the reputation would not exactly be positive afterwards. When his forehead hit a pole along the way, he had realized that he was already near the entrance of the theater. Thus, making a few steps up, then knocking upon the front doors.

Would it even be reasonable for Masami to become impatient, now that nobody has yet to open the door for him? It didn't seem as if the doors were unlocked, they were usually simply left slightly open for anyone to pass by. Even if Masami tried pushing the door or pulling its' handles, the lock won't budge at all. "No one...?" he spoke out loud, hoping that someone would open it up for him. "It might rain soon, too." Masami deliberately and lightly kicked the ground beneath his feet and leaned his back against the door, then gently pulled himself down until his bum finally hit the ground. The lack of information going around, and the lack of people, as well... the clouds were starting to darken more than it should, so people would naturally go home before they get rained upon. Masami had no umbrella and it's too shameful to simply leave; he waited.

Finally, sprinkles of water started to drop from the sky 'til Masami could only hear the sounds. Today's afternoon appeared as if it was evening, and the feeling was almost eternally melancholic. "Let me pass, let me pass..." he lightly hummed, quietly repeating the lyrics of a traditional Joyan folk song, "what is this narrow pathway here...? This is the narrow pathway of the Tenjin Shrine." The melody of the song had an eerie tone, uncomfortable to the foreign, meaningful to the folks. He sang until he heard nothing else but his own words indulged in the air; he sang until he had dozed off.

After a while, someone had opened the door up and surprised to see a young boy fallen asleep. "Ah, my, my." they lightly panicked, heavily sighing. "Poor boy, did nobody tell him today's cancelled meeting?" this old man, whom appeared to be the requester, later on ordered his men to carry Masami upon a more heated location.
