#1Jan Ren

Oh Deer [Quest] Empty Wed Apr 15, 2020 11:24 am

Jan Ren
For the third time, Farmer Jim had called upon Jan Ren's aid. This request was different from the last two; as if the previous ones dabbed in peaceful, complete solos, this one required him to get a little more aggressive. Now the Sinese had no problems hunting, but he wasn't quite used to it; he'd tried it in his travels, but in more complex ways.

This time, per the farmer's perfectly delivered pun, it appears that the job included hunting down a pair of deers that often infiltrated Fat Jimmy's farmlands. With the very recent tilting of the dirt, Jan had expected it'd take a while before the cabbage corps grow fully; but if those two were already making it an issue, that meant that at least, Marigold's cabbage supplies were restored quickly. Great.

That also meant, he had bait at bay. The Cabbages!

In order to complete this request properly, Jan took the day off. Sleeping throughout daylight, waking up at 6 PM, once dusk had settled over the skies. As long as he got the job done, Jim was glad to lend him a bed to sleep on. If that was the case, it only spoke for how much he cared about his cabbages and corps; beyond being his main source of income, that is.

So, the young man soon exited the house after work hours ended, grabbing a single cabbage as he laid in wait. These deers were bound to show up eventually in the middle of the night and ruin a cabbage. Or several. Perfect.

At the later hours of the night, what with Jan somehow managing to find a way to occupy his boredom for long enough, a couple of horns seemed to cautiously pop out of the near woods. Then another pair followed. The two animals showed themselves in bare sight, coming out of the forest rather quickly but obviously on some alert. Seems the scenery wasn't quite suspicious enough for them, as the two deers approached rather quickly to the cabbage farm.

roll, roll roll.

The two flinched, stopping in their tracks as a stray cabbage was rolled towards them, a single human standing not too far away from it. They were already in range. Jan had to be extra careful not to let them get away, and as such, already began building his magic power in both hands. Two spells at once? Yeah, that should work. He made sure to look to their hooves, not to their eyes. While he wasn't experienced with hunting animals too much, he figured that eye contact could initiate some form of intimidation.

As expected, the deers remained in place, and as soon as one took a step back, Jan leapt forward. The two animals didn't even bother with the vegetable, they simply understood they weren't alone and deserted it. But when they did, it was already too late.

A single water bullet escaped from the Sinese's finger and traveled just in time to pierce through one of them, while the other was subject to bodies of water expelled from Jan's arm, coiling around the animal's legs and preventing it from escaping. "...Sorry guys."

With two more shots, straight to the head in both, Jan sealed the deal. It was tactical, and it worked like a charm. For a short moment, Jan took his time to breathe in, then out; sorting out his breathing.

"Alright! Bet Jim's going to be pretty happy with this in the morning."
