The sound of horses galloping and metal clashing filled the ears of those around the surrounding area. The smell blood and sulfur filled the air as well as any would be traveler or solider.  Corpses were littered around the area as fires, low and high, were burning all around. Blood soaked blades and broken ammo as far as the eye could see. It was clear there was a war going on although it was unclear who was fighting and why. All only fact of the matter was, there was a brown skin male dressed in a uniform with a large coat and a hood laying in the middle of the battlefield. That was Shichiro there, laying in unfamiliar clothes and colors. He was currently unconscious and was starting to come too. Groggily, he started to open his eyes as the smell of blood, sulfur and smoke began to fill his lungs. Sitting up, Shichiro began to experience a coughing fit from the mixture of smells bombarding his senses. Instinctively, he began to punch his gut as if he was attempting to force the smell of out of his lunges but to no avail. Standing slowly, he felt a little woozy getting up, his eyes clearing up and adjusting from just waking up. Already it felt like a lot to take in. Shichiro then tried to remember what he was doing here. At first he had no clue what he was suppose to do and decided not to think too hard about it. Suddenly, he heard the sound of horses galloping in the distance and it was coming closer to his position. "Search for any survivors", a voice had shouted from through the fog of smoke. Shichiro wasn't sure why, but hearing the voice seems to have filled him with relief as if he knows this person but sure enough, he one hundred percent knows he doesn't.

Deciding to follow his instinct, Shichiro decided he would seek out the voice that was calling out to survivors. He wanted to shout but couldn't muster the strength to do so. It took all he could just to stand up right but he was hanging on. He doesn't fully remember the circumstances for him to be getting hurt this badly but from what he vaguely remembers, he was also riding a horse with a small militia of troops he set out with from a kingdom he had never heard of before. He remembers those troops were also wearing he same peculiar uniform with matching colors too so he assumed they had to be his allies. The horse trotted closer in Shichiro's direction until he could make out what he was seeing since his vision had cleared up by then. Hoping to see a familiar face, Shichiro was disappointed to see a man he still didn't recognize riding on top of a massive white horse. He was wearing the same colors though but the man had all sorts of emblems and a shiny suit of chain mail armor layered under his cloak. The man stared at Shichiro while he looked at the unknown man, gripping his right arm as he started to feel intense pain. "You there boy, state your name, rank and squadron number and i want a full report of what's going on here, what the status of your squad is, where they are located and why in the seven hells are you not with them" the man had exclaimed in a brash tone. Suddenly, Shichiro felt like a dunce for feeling relieved from hearing a guy like this barking orders at him but he might as well give him the answers he wanted, or at least as best as he could. Mustering all the energy he could, Shichiro began to speak the first things that came to his mind.

"Private Shichiro Uchida sir! My rank is lieutenant from the forty third squadron from the medic corps, sir! We've manged to drive back the enemy out of this region but not without suffering heavy casualties! As you can see here, a lot of our own troops have been dispatched or routed. As far as i know, i'm the only one left alive since i had come too recently from an enemy sneak attack." Now, Shichiro wasn't sure how much of that was true but he had feeling around seventy percent of what came out of his mouth was the truth or so he believed. Still, his report wasn't enough to impress the high ranking officer who after a moment of pause scoffed and began to give his response. "Ah, the squadron with the new commander in charge. I already knew this would be the case. I don't know why he was recommended to lead and now look what happened. And you there boy, you also were an unfortunate victim under his leadership as well, getting ambushed like that, eh? You also look pretty young yourself so i doubt you now what to do without somebody giving you orders. Fear not, for i have arrive to guide your wayward body to victory. Come along, you yourself look worse for wear but you are a medic are you not? Then here, take this med kit and patch yourself up first. I have instructed my "elite" squadron to make camp up ahead. After your done, you can make your way up further out of this town and group with them. There, they will give you some supplies to fight and heal as many as you can. You're not out of this one yet by. You can rest when you're dead." With that, the high ranking officer had galloped ahead to see if he could find anybody else worth saving.

Shichiro already knew he didn't like that guy but he had no choice but to follow his orders if he wanted to get out of this village alive and in one piece. He started to sit back down from where he stood up and apply the contents of the medical kit onto his body. Bandages, ointments, alcohol and the likes where stored in there as well as a bunch of other healing supplies. It was small but first rate, not that he expected anything less from that pompous ass he had just encountered.  It seems he just valued how expensive things are than how useful it is, not that he was complaining about the quality. After patching himself up, Shichiro felt a little better than he did upon waking up. He stood up now, no longer fatigued or hindered by whatever ailments that had afflicted him and he started to slowly make his way in the direction the direction the pompous man had told him there was a camp. Making his way towards the direction he was going in, he noticed there was a few survivors from the supposed squadron he was apart of. Using the remaining supplies he had from the kit, he started to patch up as many of the soldiers as he could find. He wasn't sure why he had medical knowledge all of a sudden but it seems as if he had the mastery of somebody who had studied it for years. It was a quite uncanny but he guessed he shouldn't poke, prod and worry about where his knowledge came from. This was a good thing and maybe it would it would help him out even after these strange occurrences and events have come to pass. He continued to heal and mend the soldiers he had found until they were well enough to go to the camp tat he himself was instructed to go to.

After that, Shichiro left the village and went to the camp he was instructed to go too. Arriving, he gave quick glance around. It seems like a normal enough military camp at first glance. Now that he arrived here, Shichiro was pretty lost. He was just told to come here and for some reason, like an idiot, he obeyed and came. He did remember something about going back out on the field to continue to heal people still out in the fields of war. Just when he was thinking on what to do next, the pompous high ranking officer approached and looked Shichiro up and down. He didn't say anything for awhile before he started to point to a certain tent with a red cross on it. Shichiro once again, didn't question anything and just decided to go where he was told too. In a way, Shichiro thought he'd make a great mercenary someday other than following orders from rich nobles like him as well as healing duties. It was boring but at the same time, it was still a rewarding experience. Entering the red cross tent, he found that it was filled with nothing but medical supplies and a large backpack to carry them all in. Right away, Shichiro started to gather the medical supplies he thought he needed and placed them neatly into a large brown and green backpack. He also picked up a vorpal sword to take into battle with him. Even though he was a medic, it's not like he wasn't expected to go into combat or to get into a fight somewhere down the line, it was just unlikely. He decided to take a weapon just to be on the safe side since he didn't fancy himself a novice at swordplay. Either way, he was ready to head out. Unfortunately, he didn't know that the next scheduled assault would be the next morning nor did he notice that it was pitch black.

The sun was already starting to set when he first arose from his slumber so this shouldn't really surprise him at all but he was still surprised he was out for that long. Well, it's good thing he packed up ahead of time cause all he had to tomorrow was wake up, take the backpack and head out. Roaming around the camp, Shichiro decided it was bets for him to find a tent and crash there for the time being. He wasn't sure how being assigned to a tent works but he figured somebody would tell him if he was making a mistake. Choosing a tent that was partially empty. He looked around and found an empty sleeping bag and decided to crawl into it. The other soldiers looked at Shichiro a bit confused. Shichiro had crawled in halfway before noticing the other soldiers gazes. At first, Shichiro thought he did something wrong so he has about to get out of the sleeping bag before one of the soldiers told him it was okay since the one solider that was using it was killed in action. Shichiro hesitated at the thought but in the end, he really needed a place to crash for the night. It was his job to prevent casualties like this in the future and so he'll take what he could get and sleep in the sleeping bag for the time being. It took awhile but eventually, Shichiro had forced himself to go to sleep. He need to be at his best if he was to heal his fellows as well as fight in the skirmish to come tomorrow and for that reason and that reason alone was why he lay there asleep, if not with his eyes closed and trying to rest his body as much as he could. Finally, it was morning and the sounds of birds were chirping.

Tossing and turning, Shichiro eventually arose to the noise of the birds he was hearing as well as the sound of the others shuffling out of their bags. Shichiro watched them for a brief moment, wondering how the person whose sleeping bag he was borrowing died.  He eventually figured it would be insensitive to ask and decided he'd just head out with the lot of them. Of course, before he went out and join the line up,  he went back to the tent with the red cross in hopes he'd find his prepacked backpack still laying there. Of course, it was still there where he had last left it and decided to pick it up and put it on his back. Thinking for a moment, he took the pack off and rummaged through it one last time to make sure everything he's packed was still there. He confirmed it was and placed it on his back once more before heading out to join the line of soldiers getting ready to partake in the skirmish. The high ranking snotty officer was there once more, riding on his horse. This time, he was carrying a sheet of paper that looks like it was the strategy for today's skirmish. Shichiro stood next to the others with packs just like his own assuming they had the same ob of healing people out on the field. From there, the plans were discussed about a siege on a nearby fortress. Hearing this made Shichiro's blood boil in excitement and anticipation. He's never been apart of a siege before and wondered what that would be like. He knew he wasn't gonna do much fighting and would mainly be there for support but as he deduced last night, he probably wouldn't be able to stay out of harm's way forever. He made sure he had his knight sword on hand as well before they carried out with the siege.

Marching forward, there was little to no effort on their journey to the fortress that the skirmish was suppose to be held. Clutching his temporary weapon tightly, Shichiro couldn't wait for the battle to start. He wanted to test his skills with a weapon for a long time now as well as his physical prowess. He knew most of the time he would just be dispatched to heal the wounded soldiers or civilians caught in the crossfire but that didn't mean he couldn't engage immediate enemies if the need arises. It took half a day on foot to reach within viewing distance of the fortress. According to what Shichiro remembers, they were to attack under the cover of night setting up long ladders to get into the fortress town. That was when their guard would be the lowest and the laziest. They set up their equipment and prepared for the inevitable siege within the next couple of hours. Shichiro himself was double checking his equipment one last time before he decided to take a nap for the remaining couple of hours. What felt like a minute later, Shichiro was being shaken by another solider who he had shared a tent with to get up since they were both already late for the siege. Shichiro jumped up with the back already on his back and him and the solider both ran forward to where the siege was already happening. Seems like they were needed and had missed the start. The solider ran one way to join the front lines. Shichiro debated on joining but he remembered that he was assigned to a medical squad. Shichiro sucked his teeth as he decided it was in his best interest to listen to orders even though he didn't completely understand what he was even fighting for, if at all. Well, regardless, he wanted to be on the winning side is all he knew.

Making his way to the wall of the fortress, he had to quickly look for a way he might be able to sneak in, the plan was suppose to be a few soldiers would sneak over with climbing gear and if they were compromised, they would just put up heavy ladders and make their way up and force themselves in. It seems like the former hadn't succeeded and they were resorting to using the latter. Several ladders have been put up already for scaling the wall. Shichiro then jumped on and started to climb up. He continued to climb up on ladder until he made it to the top. He was surprised he made it up there without any real opposition. He assumed the enemy would be pushing and making ladders tumble if they saw when they were being put up. After further observation, he realized that his allies had already secured the wall and there were now more injured than when he first awoke in that village. He heard a solider call for a medic near by and decided it would be best to follow the yells. Well, this was technically his job and it was time for some field treatment. running to the right, on top of the fortress wall,  Shichiro took the backpack off of his back and set it down in front of the solider that was calling out for help. The solider then informed Shichiro there was actually three of their comrades in critical situations. This changed the situation a bit as now Shichiro needed to hurry up a bit and apply treatment as soon as possible. The solider that had informed Shichiro of their allies condition also seems to need aid but he refused it since knew the others were in far worse shape than he was and offered to be the last one treated instead.

Shichiro then continued to tend to the three people that were gravely injured. It was a bit tedious since he had move across the wall from time to time in order to check on the three individuals from time to time. In the end, he was glad he did so cause he managed to delay the injuries from getting worse. But Shichiro was no doctor and they would have to seek professional help, most likely surgery. Shichiro could at best, mend minor to moderate injuries with his skills but that's about it.  For now, Shichiro instructed them to stay put so their injuries wouldn't get any worse than they are now. Which that in mind, he decided it was time to treat the last solider who refused to be treated earlier. He must really value his teammates, Shichiro thought to himself. This person wasn't really injured too badly so Shichiro was done with him in an instant. After that, Shichiro informed him of the other three's conditions before he left some surplus supplies in case anything else happened. He gathered the rest of his things and headed off into the other direction he had previously came from. Running along the walls, he hoped he didn't miss too much of the action himself. He finally made it to one end of the wall, in front of a tower with a brown door. Shichiro reached out to turn the knob expecting it to be locked but it wasn't. It turns out, somebody had made here first and broken it. Well, the odds were in his favor so, he opened it and walked inside of the tower cautiously.  Looking around, Shichiro found nothing out of he ordinary at first. No traps, no sign of enemy soldiers, nothing detrimental. He did find an unlocked hatch in the room and decided he would open it, revealing a set of spiral stairs that led further down the tower.

Making his way down the set of spiral stairs, Shichiro could hear the sounds of a scuffle as he continued his descent of the tower. Soon, found a door what was partly cracked open and could hear vivid sounds of a skirmish going on. To the left of the door were the spiral stairs continuing to go further down. Shichiro couldn't ignore the sounds of battle since this was what he was craving for a very long time now. Drawing his sword, Shichiro ripped open the door and made his way in. There, he found a knight with the same colors as him being outnumbered by by what seems like three common foot soldiers each armed with short sword and a dagger. The knight took a glance in Shichiro's direction to determine if he was friend or foe and noticed he was wearing the same colors as him just as Shichiro did. He quickly glanced back at his assailants, readying his own sword in hand. Shichiro took a glance at the man's sword. It was quite pretty with an orange and gold hilt with a spiral pattern that was only about one fourth of the blade itself. This was no time for him to be admiring the knight's sword. Readying his sword as well, the knight nodded in Shichiro's direction as he nodded in kind. No words were exchanged but they already knew what they must do for some odd reason. All Shichiro had to do, was fend off just one of the enemy soldiers and the knight would take care of the other two. With that, Shichiro was about to lunge forward before the knight extended out his arm in front of Shichiro to stop him. If the knight hadn't done so, Shichiro could have been overwhelmed and possibly killed. He figured the best course of action was to wait and see how they would attack first.

After Shichiro was halted, that's when the enemy foot soldiers decided it was best to attack. All three of them decided to lunge forward at the knight. The figured Shichiro was just a small fry that wouldn't really change the situation too much so they tend to focus most of their efforts on the knight. This was a mistake due to not fully knowing what Shichiro was capable of. He might have been a novice when it came to medicine and magic but he was quite adept with a blade. Still, he would follow through with the plan and hold off one of them. The knight was overall better geared for the fight anyways. Shichiro intercepted on of the soldiers by lunging at him from the side with a shoulder tackle and steering him away from the other three now in a deadlock. Readying his weapon, he threw a vertical slash at the foot solider who easily dealt with it by blocking with his own sword before kicking Shichiro away from him. Sliding backwards, Shichiro thought of another way to strike in order to take his opponent out. After thinking of his plan of action, he proceeded to try and strike a again. This time with a combination of slashes with a few kicks of his own in order to overwhelm the opponent and it was successful. He disarmed his opponent before plunging his blade into the soldier's belly and pulling it out. He didn't aim for a vital spot because he didn't want to kill the man, only incapacitate him so he couldn't fight and be a threat anymore. With that, Shichiro turned to the knight who had finish his fight with the other two. After that, Shichiro ran over to attempt to treat his injuries but the knight had waved him off and walked over to the opponent he didn't kill and proceeded to finish him off.

Shichiro only stared and tilted his head wondering if that was absolutely necessary before looking at the knight straight into where his face should be. The knight was wearing a helmet after all and all he could see was cold, lifeless looking eyes as he stared right back at Shichiro as if he was trying to convey a message that the defeated do not deserve any mercy and should fall in battle with honor. He then walked out of the room and made his way through the tower, leaving Shichiro to his devices. Shichiro was dumbfounded but at the very least but nonetheless, he did his job, or attempted too. Still, he felt like he did soemthing wrong by not finishing off the solider himself but eventually he just shrugged it off. Looking around the room, it seems this was a guard's quarters. It was a mess from whatever scuffle they were having earlier but there were turned over beds, chests with personal belongings in them, rummaged through, broken open or flipped over with the contents everywhere. There was some overturned weapons and armor racks with some equipment in them. Nothing Shichiro cared to use though as he was comfortable with the sword that he was boring for the time being. Still, before he left the room, Shichiro decided to do a search to see if he could find anything of value to use or maybe to pocket himself. Even though he was apart of war he doesn't remember signing up for, he figured it didn't hurt to find something to pocket for himself. It may seem like a dishonorable thing to do during the time of war and all but Shichiro believed in looking out for number one, himself. After gathering useful items and some loose jewels he found laying around, he decided he would attempt to catch up with that knight form before and provide assistance to others if he could.

Making his way out of the room and down the spiral stair cause once more, Shichiro can feel heat as he descended the staircase once more. He knew this familiar feeling from somewhere before but couldn't quite figure out from where he recognized it. When he finally made it to the bottom, he saw another door leading out out of the tower and into the fortress itself. Quickening his pace a bit, he hurried to the door before opening it  to reveal a massive fire blazing through the fortress. Ah, Shichiro remembers that feeling now. It was the one he had upon waking up in the burning village previously. It was sickening feeling with the blood, sulfur and smoke all assaulting his senses at once. Still, it was war after all even if he doesn't know who or why he was fighting but he was sure he had to participate in order to evolve as a person. No point in complaining about it now. Moving forward, he knew this little episode of his was almost over. In the end, he had a job to do so he continued to look around for survivors from his faction and treat them one by one. There was quite a few in this area but none of them were injured too badly. He was glad to have been on what feels like the more experienced side of the war in which not too many causalities seems to have happened. On the other hand, he felt kind of bad for the opposition when they've probably lost so many. Either way, all is lost in love and war or so they say. The final hurdle was approaching fast as Shichiro started to head towards the center of the village. He feels that's where he was needed the most and maybe where he would find out why he was thrown into this chaotic situation.

Making his way to the center of the fortress where the enemy commander was suppose to be, Kizmaru had a sinking feeling that he probably shouldn't fight whoever was head of the enemy army. Still, he wanted to at least take a peek at who they were and maybe what they were planning on doing about the current situation. Although he was curious about it, he didn't let it become the sole reason he was here as his job was to just be the medic, a healer in a sense. Looking for more potential patients, Shichiro had spotted a familiar set of armor walking in the distance, barely visible from all the smoke. It was the knight that had saved his and he was in a deadlock with another knight in similar armor but it was black, red and had a sinister aura around it. Drawing his blade and forgetting what he had previous experienced, he rushed forward, uncharacteristically yelling at the top of his lungs. Both the allied knight and the enemy commander looked in Shichiro's general direction but the enemy commander saw this as an opportunity to win the deadlock and shove the knight way. He then turned to Shichiro yelling and lifting his hand, concentrating mana into it and firing a mana fueled blast at him. The blast hit Shichiro full on in the chest, forcing him to drop his weapon and knocking him backwards into a burning wall of a house before collapsing to the ground. The last thing Shichiro remember was looking up at the allied knight resume his battle with the enemy commander before Shichiro closed his eyes, passing out. Jumping up with a jolt, Shichiro realized night had fallen. Clutching his head, he could still feel the pain of what was a very real attack that connected with his chest. Looking around, he remembered that he was actually in Sieghart mountains. He's not sure what he felt was a dream or not but it felt so real, he even retained the knowledge of human anatomy and healing techniques. He couldn't recall every studying to learn how to do this but, here the knowledge was clear as day in his head. Standing up, Shichiro decided he would continue on his way, still pondering on the past events before eventually locking it away in the furthest corner of his mind.

[Exit.]
