She shouldn’t have been here, not like this anyway. She felt out of touch with the rest of the world. All eyes were on her, some out of awe others out of fear. She cared and to say she didn’t left a bad taste in her mouth. Moving amongst the crowd and towering over nearly all of them, she found herself trying to adjust to her new body. It wasn’t something she should have been trying to do right now though as she knelt down to show the few villagers who would approach her how to stop bleeding and how to dress a wound. She was slow with her teachings, making sure that no one was left behind in the knowledge she was giving to them. Her kind eyes and gentle hands guided them so that their suffering could be healed if only for a little bit. Little by little people came up to her. Through all the events that happened she could understand their fear, but she was here to show them that she would not harm them, that she wasn’t the monster that alot of the others showed themselves to be. It was true that even though she was no longer a human she still knew what it meant to be human. This was what separated her from the form she took. She understood pain, empathy, sadness, and every other little emotion that those Seraphim failed to understand.

The lessons she taught were short but frequent. There was a battle close by the village but people were getting caught in the crossfire. It took a barrier to go up by a few mages to protect what was left of the village and the people who lived in it. Ylva would join the fight to fend off the village after she was done healing those most in need.

Her talents were better suited for mending the broken bodies and depressed souls. Her magic was a blessing and she would use it to help those who could not help themselves. Walking among the broken she found herself kneeling down to a child whose leg was clearly broken. As usual, she was gentle with the child, placing her hand over his leg and letting her magic work slowly through him to minimize any pain that he might experience. She spoke softly to him, asking him questions to take his mind off of what she was doing and pacify him. She had come to learn that he was caught in the crossfire outside of the village and found his way here. His parents however were not so lucky and they were both now dead and gone. This was the result of this war, children losing parents and becoming orphans. She felt bad for the boy but all she could do for him now was make sure he could at least walk, at least have some sort of future ahead of him with a body that wouldn’t be crippled. As she healed she gave him water to drink and had someone wipe him down so that he wouldn’t be so dirty and prone to infection. She tried to offer words of reassurance to the boy but she was quickly pulled away to someone else in need.

Humans were so fragile yet so strong. It was strange turning into another being, she was no longer as fragile as them. But in the same tune they could be just as strong as any other being, they could climb out of the pits with nothing in their hands. Make castles out of sand and build armies out of sticks. Humans had what other races craved, and that was raw potential. Because she knew this she was humbled in their presence.
