Instead of asking every single thing that confused me for a while, I've been piling up on them to ask them all in a topic like this. I was also afraid to ask them tru discord cus i think it wasn't a good thing to bother peeps via site-related things on there so here we go.

1) Why do people make dots in the discord?
2) What's the point of laser/beam/ball spells if a projectile can explode after it reaches or hits something? We can't throw AoE spells, but a ball of magic thrown can explode into an AoE right? There seems to be no downside to this, yet people and companions still have simple beam spells.
3) How does one join a guild? Do we write on the character section in the review?
4) Can healing spells and supplementary spells be AoE? OR can they affect everyone/everyally/everyenemy in their range? A D-Rank spell has a range of 5 meters but 1x1m AoE. If there was a supplementary spell that was to give people dark vision, would that use the range or the AoE? Or is it simply not possible? if so why D:<
5) Sometimes, especially combat, can be dependent on the small details a place has. Such as a tree, a rock, where a wall is etc. How are these details set up? By the first poster? If there is anything the first poster doesn't describe, then can other mention them? Does this make combat rp turn into remembering to add "there was nothing else around" to your post? While I've read the regulations a lot, the town information, even though I did, didn't stay in my mind that much and I doubt it gave detailed information about the place.
6) Can healing or supplementary spells heal pain or does that enter into the Maguilty Sense territory?
7) Can your spells affect items you have? I guess this is a "duh" since classes like assasin and trickster exist, but the classes are going through a change and i rather be safe than sorry. what i mean is can i make my pistol for example float around and shoot even though its not in my hand, or change the element to my own magic's element etc.

thats all folks, thanks

1) Dots are life. ;)

2) One advantage that I see, is the time taken. Perhaps not so evident on D ranks, but if we have an S rank that has to move and then explode, both things will increase the time taken before the damage is done.

3) "In order to join a guild later on the user needs to do a topic with a member of that guild and get accepted. Masters are allowed to reject you if they don't think you'd fit the guild."

4) Interesting. For a lot of the AoE that does allow multiple people to be affected, the caster has to provide extra mana per target. For example, a supplementary AoE that roots enemies can root more than one in the AoE range, but you'll have to give that much more mana. The AoE in the vision case would work more like this:
Basically, you can either cause an effect in the area or the people in the area.
Case 1: Affecting the people in the area. You could cast an AoE that grants vision to all allies inside the area, but only till the max range of that spell. Additionally, per ally, you'd need to spend extra mana.
Case 2: Affecting the area. You could cast an illuminating spell and the AoE affected will be illuminated for everybody (enemies included) everyone can see that area without you having to spend extra mana per person though.

5) Combat RP, is... Not my strong suit because I haven't done it enough personally. From what I understand, the first person describes a setting, the second person may add stuff, but they have to be careful to not contradict something that was specifically stated by the first person. Town description can give you a general idea, for example, if the town is snowy, describing it as a desert would be silly.  But creating too many specific details might take away freedom from the people to describe it a little bit, in combat or out of it. Basically, I do believe keeping track of details is quite a key aspect of combat RPs, from descriptions to movements, to ranges and the timeline.

6) Healing spells from my understanding, reverse the damage. For pain tolerance, endurance is what comes into play. For example, if I shoot you in the leg with a D rank, a healer can heal the wound with a a D-rank and then you wouldn't feel pain, because you are healed. If I shoot you with a C-rank, and the healer can only use a D rank, you would not be completely healed and still feel pain although it'd be less incapacitating than before. Supplementary spells do not deal with pain.

7) Interesting question. Supps can be used a little bit, like a utility. For example, if you wield a weapon but need both hands to cast a spell, maybe you could have a spell that allows your weapon to temporarily float, but while it is floating having it shoot for you too would be unfair. Affecting other people's items is a no go. Additionally, you cannot cause enhancements to the weapon, like increasing its damage, element or range etc. (The floating and allowing it to shoot, would be a problem for the latter, getting an extending range.) Supplementary spells are a pretty diverse class and we're working on creating more specifics for them for the sake of clarity.

NOTE: Anything that is not in quotes, is my understanding since quite a few of the answers are not written anywhere. But the explanations provide reasons for why certain applications of spells are dealt with in a certain way. This is to hopefully, help you get a sense of things and to encourage discussions!

And here I thought I had went through the regulations quite well, can't believe I missed the guild one so I apologize for the redundant question. Also I'm so sorry for questioning the dots, forgive me lol

Other than that, wow Akira! Thank you so much! I didn't expect one person to answer everything with such detail you went into. :)

I will leave it to the rest of the staff team to see if these answers are all sufficient since some of them were opinions and archive this topic, or leave if for people to add more to it if in case it does encourage discussions.

I don't have much to add, I can explain where I think the dotting came from;

1) Some people dot to keep an update on the conversation instead of having +130 new messages on either phone or pc perhaps. And when one did that, some for fun made .. and after that ... and so on. It is now some sort of game to see how far we can go?

as what I wanted to add to your 3) question which Akira quoted from the regs, after you did a topic you indeed link it in the character review so you can get the right colour.

For the rest I agree with everything Akira said as what I want to say this might change a bit in the future, just as Akira her last answer about question 7), we are working on changing the spell regulations a bit to clear up a lot of unanswered questions but by the time when that comes up it will be in the regulations as well and feel free to ask questions when you have them. Either here or in Discord (though in discord it is possible that we miss it).

Thanks for the clearing up and additions Alice. :)
I have some more questions about other things but I will just let them pile up again for now since they aren't urgent. Thank you both.
