The pair had been having quite the night at the shack by the lighthouse. Upon finishing their food they'd sauntered over to the pool table for a few quick games while the blonde boy and the dark haired woman downed their drink. The only other soul in the shack, apart from the waiters and the cashier, still sat and smoked his pipe, he'd been there for so long and he'd been so quiet, it looked like he may turn into stone. Just then, another man... A familiar face this time, it was Raegan. Victor took his shot and then held up his hand for a second, to witness the interaction that ensued between the smugger and the pipe-smoker.

'I don't have the map yet, but I'll have someone go in there and fetch it from the town hall tonight! I promise...' Raegan promised to the man... Garrett's eyes met the Hullston's. 'In fact... There! That man, he has worked for me! He'll get it for us tonight. I know he will.' Raegan promised with a nervous chuckle without consulting with Victor. The blonde grinned and leaned towards his... perhaps tipsy? partner in crime. 'Looks like our pal, Raegan... Is going to settle our bill for tonight.' he said smirking and nodded at Raegan the smuggler.

Phoebe leaned on the cue and stared at the game that was on the table, her eyes still green kept a look on everything that was happening but mostly on Victor. Phoebe had given up for the night and had not said anything anymore since before dinner. She had enough to drink but there was more necessary to get a Goddess drunk and her vessel was used to it more than enough. Something to thank this King for or whomever it was. Persephone wasn't even interested, she simply wanted to play a game which was way more fun. She actually walked towards the white ball to take her turn when she heard the rapid and hushed whispers from Raegan, such an easy man. She looked at him before leaning forward to take her shot.

Phoebe looked up at Victor because she had not kept listening to Raegan and his plea for Victor to do his dirty work, "Now isn't that sweet?" The Nature Goddess said, raising herself to stand up straight and fix her tank top a little so nothing would practically fall out. What a good vessel she had. "I hope it is something fun." She stared with a smile at Raegan, of course she would tag along.

In his slightly inebriated state, Victor was shameless enough to let his eyes wander to Phoebe's provocative parts, only momentarily though. Then he slid pursed his lip to avoid chuckling at the nervous state of the smugger and stood, contemplating whether he should play the part of an underling or make things worse for the poor man. Before he'd made his choice though, the pipe-wielding man said 'For your sake, I hope your workers are as promising as you say they are.' following it with a snicker and finally left the shack.

'Double the reward, for both of us.' Victor said sternly, exploiting the assumed desperation to be demanding. Raegan just nodded and wiped his brow and then took off his hat to wipe the sweat off his bald head too. 'Ok. Just fetch me the map please, it is in the Town Hall... Can't have a commotion or my whole ring will be busted, if you two manage that, we have a deal.' he said and went on to give some more details. 'Sounds like fun to you?' he asked Phoebe after he shook on the deal and chose a spot to meet Raegan following the burglary. 'Should be quite a task in our current state...' he added, snaking an arm around her again.

Persephone simply looked at Victor, his profile because he was shortly again looking at Raegan, really partner? Oh well, she would look at the man standing next to the pool table still and let them handle it. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and simply stared on with her bright green eyes. She actually liked how Victor demanded for a higher price for this quest, good idea since they were basically saving his ass for this issue. She looked at Raegan with an uninterested look in her eyes. She listened to the conditions Raegan had to pay them dubble and she could absolutely deal with that, "It sounds very interesting." She felt his arms around her again and turned towards her, placing a hand on his chest, "That only makes it more fun." she whispered, tiptoeing to be able to whisper it softly in his ear, "Let's go to our destination." and she pushed herself out of his grip and walk out of the shack, they should pay but the barman apparently caught wind of what was going to happen and let them be. They would pay after this job, she wondered if the alcohol indeed would have no influence on her or if Persephone simply didn't feel it as soul to a vessel and not the original vessel. Asking Phoebe was no use, she didn't answer.

Her hands felt natural on his chest like they belonged there. He lowered his head as she stretched upwards to whisper... His expression betrayed a slight sadness, he'd hoped for the contents of her words to have been something a little more, private instead of just the suggestion that they get a move on. Following the instruction, she wriggled out of his grip too... He wondered why she pushed him away... Quickly making an assessment of the situation. Perhaps he hadn't showered her with enough attention, or a proper term of endearment? Despite usually having a decent read on people, sometimes women still left him confused. Nonetheless, he smiled and chivalrously said 'As you say m'lady...'

They walked back towards the town, using the same shortcut they had before. It led precisely to their destination. He scoured the building from afar, narrowing his eyes to attempt gaining some clarity in the dark path, lit only by the sparsely placed streetlights. 'One would think they'd have more lights around the famous town hall...' he observed, scratching his chin. 'You got a plan? I say we climb through that window in there...' he inquired and suggested, pointing to the one in question. 'Someone was kind enough to leave it open too.' he added. The moon peeked through the clouds briefly, the duo cast long shadows, but at least the building was better illuminated, even though it was just briefly.

She wouldn't show him her grin but the disappointment was shown on his face and him calling her my lady, she turned to look at him with this grin on her lips and licking her lips, "Who knows what can happen in a town hall." she said softly, walking in front of him shortly before he would catch up, swinging with her hips from left to right with her high heels.

They wouldn't take long to arrive at the towns hall and she looked at it, glad that there weren't much lights on and she nodded about the idea though, "As if they suspect something and are hiding themselves." but that was a bit extreme, most likely Hargeon didn't expect anything and simply shut off the lights. She looked at the window that Victor quickly pointed out later and stared at it, "You would have to hoist me up." because with her 5'3 she wouldn't be able to get there. But that would mean something else: she was wearing skirt. If he could hoist her up, she could also open the front door or would he be able to jump up and get in? She looked at the building more but if there was another window open it was either on the same floor or higher and that would be an issue.

'Hoisting? It'd take more than that... I was talking about the window above the one you're thinking.' he said, which was possible, the difference in their heights and angles would account for that misunderstanding. 'And don't worry, I can carry you... Well sort of.' he said, with his lips twisting into a smirk, something that was becoming a bit of a habit around this one. If they could climb up to the first and avoid the few guards that loitered around, it would make it easier for them to reach the second from inside. He could, of course, use his spell for longer and climb higher from the outside, but if things went wrong, the injuries would make things so much worse. It wasn't as though he didn't trust his magic, he simply took risks only after a lot of calculation. Sure the flames were friendly, but they were still an entity of their own.

He grasped her hand gently, before nodding and saying 'So that's where we're heading then.' The duo slunk besides the tall bushes that lined the Town Hall, before squeezing through a small careless opening left in the shrubs, right under the open window. 'Ok, I'm going to need you to latch onto my back.' he said kneeling to make it easier for her. 'Also, probably a good idea to keep your face protected... Maybe in my neck.' he added the last bit only half joking in hopes that she would. To indicate the danger he spoke again 'Because... to climb the wall the back of my hands will basically eject some heat energy.' After explaining he waited for her to either follow his instructions and heed his advice or offer a better solution.

Phoebe looked up at the window above that, she stared at it and wondered how they would get there, if the first floor was no go but the second. Persephone wondered if she could make a vine and they could climb up but she had not tried that with the new vessel so that might not be an option. She sighed and simply nodded when Victor went on to talk, so much for making things easy with a town house. But no one should see of hear them, how would that happen if they were to climb to a second floor window? "Carry me?" she turned to look at the blonde, "I don't want to underestimate your strength but there aren't easy ways to get there." Unless he wanted to try find handholds and have her holding on on his back? That would make no sense.

While he grabbed her hand, she simply followed, hearing the plan to indeed hold on to his back soon enough and she stared at him before simply shaking her head shortly and do what he said. But when he said something about heat, Persephone couldn't help but take a step back and her green eyes become bigger, fire. But this job was just for fun, the fire wasn't against her and she shook her head again and nodded not that he would see, she hoisted up her skirt till over her knees so it was easier and wrapped her arms around his shoulder clinging them together to hold a grip, she did hide her face in his neck, mostly because she was obviously afraid of fire, it felt very uncomfortable so close against him, her chest squeezed flat as well and the edge of the skirt cutting in her skin. They better be quick. So much for having fun.

Once she had a firm grip on him and he felt her chin between her shoulder blades, he smirked and rubbed his hands together, casting his friction spell. The heat billowed his backhand and from the back of his toes, he was lucky his own fire didn't harm him. As swiftly as he could be pressed onto the wall and hurried up, the weight of an extra person making it difficult for him to control the motion. Luckily he could latch onto the window and change his orientation, so Phoebe's body hung inside the building. After she could get off, he turned and crawled his way in too, leaning against the wall momentarily as he reabsorbed his friendly heat.

'Ok, now that we're inside, we must find the stairs up, the map is on the second floor...' he said thinking out in soft whispers as he planned ahead. 'I think the stairs should be that way.' he added, pointing towards another location, before tiptoeing towards it slowly, his hand swaying by his sides to avoid hitting anything in the darkness. 'So dark in here, but we can't risk lighting anything up, it's going to attract too much attention.' he whispered, agitated, idly sharing his thoughts. He was someone who could be stealthy, or at least he'd assumed so, but apart from trying to stay out his mother's sights as a child... He hadn't had any practice in years.

She felt it, strangely as she was on the other side of Victor his body to feel the fire, and Phoebe.. she felt so jealous, if the two beings could have different looks than Phoebe would stare at the magic while Persephone kept her face hidden between his shoulderblades. She hated to feel like that but the fire had destroyed so much and she didn't want to feel like that every again, she had the luck of having nature restoring a lot but it felt like the breaking of a heart when she came in contact with fire. It made her grumpy because she felt so afraid. She was holding on very tightly and she felt tears in the corner of her eyes and quickly shut them. It was Phoebe missing her magic and Persephone being afraid of it.

But finally they were inside and she stepped there, falling to her knees with a soft plop and she pretend it was because it was a very annoying hold, since she had not want to poke him with her high heels. She redid her skirt by pulling it a little more down to over her knees. "You need to let your eyes adjust to the dark, than you see more. So close them and open them and do not look outside." she whispered, of course you won't see everything but outlines and that worked, so she pointed them towards the stairs with that trick, thank god they had carpet, else you would hear her heels everywhere. You still did but much more softer and she wasn't going to suggest Victor to carry her much more.

He heeded her advice because she was right and he was waiting for that to happen anyways. The blonde man was just impatient and wanted to get the job done and get out of here. But he took a moment and waited instead of scrambling and probably knocking something over anyways. 'You're right...' he muttered, giving her the credit, where it was due. Once the path was clear, he noticed the stairwell. Without risking words anymore, he motioned for Phoebe to follow him. He continued tiptoeing till his hands grasped onto the cold dark railing. Carefully he began climbing the steps, counting them, instead of the needed to make a sudden exit, he'd know how many there were and avoid tripping on them in his haste.

'Ok...' he whispered. 'I think after the next flight, there should be a door on our right...' Even his whispers echoed in the dark, which along with their gentle footfall, made for quite a lot of sound, that tore the quiet. He flinched, still annoyed with this whole stealthy thing. There was a window behind them, it cast a little light on the stairs, but not enough and he couldn't risk turning to look out, so he had to rely on his hands again. Reaching out behind him, his fingers looking for flesh, to confirm Phoebe's exact location and position behind him. It was a dangerous maneuver, he was likely to prod something... that he probably shouldn't. Maybe the dark would be a good excuse and justification in case he did.

Persephone was actually surprised when the man admit that she was right and he let it be, having a smug smile on her own face. Lovely, so he knew how society more or less should work but didn't. She didn't plan to go on about it as they needed to continue through the building to the second floor to get that map and have this over and done with. She had to tiptoe even more now that they hit the stairs, no carpet so her pointy heels would be heard, that's why she only stood on her toes, that was definitely not comfortable.

She was looking at the stairs making sure she would step far enough on them to not fall behind because of gravity with these heels. She spotted a pale spot trying to reach out for her and if she wouldn't have stopped him! Her left hand crossed her chest for protection, her right hand held on to his now, "These stairs are horrible." she muttered as an excuse, he had not looked behind, he merely had needed to know if she was still around. They were at the door not much later and she opened it softy, she needed carpet so she could stand normal again, so she simply entered, her eyes looking through the dark but no one, "I think we need to be there." she pointed at the storage room with her left hand. She had let go of Victor his hand already in the mean time, before she had even opened the door, it was only to get rid of a possible disaster.

He nodded in agreement, the stairs were proving to be quite a pain. His fingers brushed against her fingers and he clasped them for reassurance. Piece of cake, they could handle this task. The alcohol in the system did make it more of a challenge than he had anticipated, but nothing mimicking impossibility. 'Yep...' he confirmed as she pointed towards the storehouse. They did have to retrieve the artifact from there, as per Raegan's instructions. From the little that Victor could glean, the door to the storeroom was definitely shut too.

'Might need the twig fingers again...' he teased, softly. Now on the carpet again, his muscles could relax a little as he shuffled through the room. Then a creak and a bang made him freeze. It was the sound of a door opening and shutting underneath them. Someone turned the lights on too. From the faded hues and dispersion, that illuminated the room they were in slightly, it was safe to assume that the source was the ground floor, two floors below them. He held a finger to his lips, doubling his efforts to remain stealthy. At least they could see better.

There was a lot of guffaw and conversation that spiraled up the stairs, echoing off the walls. They had to be quick and quieter. He beckoned her forward as he tried the door to the storeroom, as he had expected... it was locked. He stood there, hands on his hips, idly tapping his feet as impatience gnawed at him. Something didn't feel right and he hated not being able to pinpoint it.

She didn't mind that he would hold on to her hand but the fact that he could have touched her somewhere else without her consent wasn't a good idea, but she should forget it. Perhaps it was the bubbling champagne in her blood. As the carpet was there again she could walk normal again, make soft almost silent thuds with her heels, the door was locked and she couldn't help but blush as Victor mentioned her twig fingers. She thought he had not watched that as she had said him to look away. But she hunched down, a bit wobbly but changed her fingers again and worked it out, she had to hurry as she felt silent for a few seconds when she heard the noise. It was below them, one or two floor.. but it felt like it brought a lot of stress with her. So Persephone tried a little quicker and she heard a click while she felt a sharp pain in her finger and pulled back quickly, "It's open." she held the index finger and middle finger of her right hand, not wanting to show that she had hurt herself.

She opened the door and quickly pushed him in and closed it behind her, using the switch on the door to lock it back again, "Now quick let's find that map and get out of here." she whispered.

Finding the map was the easy part. 'Got it!' he said, victoriously. He turned to leave the closet, pocketing the artifact, but then all of a sudden alarms grated against his ears. He wondered if something in the storage unit was rigged with some sort of an alarm sounding magic, perhaps triggered on contact or if anyone was close enough to it? Now was not the time to dwell on that. There were too many things in the cramped place, it'd be impossible to pinpoint what caused the commotion even if they chose to locate and attempt disabling it. There was a rapid increase in the commotion downstairs as he heard a multitude of voices that reflected his panic. He guessed they had enemies now, Victor felt like he could take them on, he had a few spells in his arsenal that could block them on the stairs... He'd still fill Raegan's condition of not being seen by them, for the spells could be cast from a distance and the light and smoke from the fire would prevent them from getting a good look at him or at Phoebe. But he didn't want to take the risk, between the lines that request could mean he didn't want to gather too much attention...

Victor would close his fingers around Phoebe's wrist as they would slip out of the closet. Then he'd go onto open the window of the second floor and offer to take his partner on his back again. His expression would be little more cautious this time, but confident enough in appearance to encourage Phoebe to trust him again. He'd offer his hands to aid her in getting a good grip on his torso, then would use his heat exuding Friction spell again. He'd duck out of the window and climb down. Making a bee-line for Raegan. Upon handing the man the map, the smuggler would haggle and Victor would threaten to destroy the map upon not being paid their dues. The man would sourly agree and offer the money to the pair. Once the man would leave, Victor would ceremoniously offer Phoebe a peck on her lips for another successful task completed together.

Persephone was glad that the map was easy found, the shame was that it must have triggered an alarm, or well perhaps something. She might have stepped onto something, might pushed Victor through a sensor by pushing him inside this room, or by locking the door manualy. She had no idea but it didn't matter, they had to get out. They couldn't be seen anymore and much more things, it would be a disaster that she was not ready to be part of. The alarm already caused her to panic and the commotion downstairs didn't help as well and she quickly clicked open the door again to get out of this storage room and back into the bigger room. While she stared at the stairs.

What if they came, what would they do? Say it was a drunk truth or dare? she felt the little drops of blood sticking against her fingers and she was glad that Victor had not picked her hand but her wrist as she quickly followed him to the window. She wasn't going to like it: did Persephone had to say it again, she hated fire. She would lift her skirt again a bit, so it was above her knees and she could climb and hold on to Victor. Making sure she wouldn't prick her heels in his sides. She burried her face in his shoulderblades again to ignore the fire as good as she could. She followed Victor with a quick step towards the shack again and talk to Raegan, crossing her arms in front of her chest as he was doing ridiculous of the payment, but in the end it worked and she waved him away, no longer wanting to see his face. She accepted the peck Victor offered, Persephone absolutely didn't mind. And Phoebe said nothing.
