Bael's appearance is taken after the shady, creepy archetype. He is depicted with bright green hair and an ever-present smile with his eyes closed, belying a demonic nature. He wears a simple black suit with a white shirt underneath, short brown gloves, and brown steel-toed shoes. He dons a pair of black trousers held up by two brown belts. He completes the outfit with a black fedora hat to close the shady visage. Bael's eyes carry a golden yellow color to them, almost inhuman in design. His smile also becomes that of a psychopathic killer. Only once he's left the opportunity to take advantage of a dire situation, that is.

Personality

Personality:

Bael has a calm demeanor, though if things start to turn out of his favor he'll panic. He's noted to be a funny guy, smart to a tee, but nothing short of an oddity to be around. He enjoys hitting on members of his guild, playfully. Whether male or female; even though he's obviously straight. Bael is also the type of character to insult, degrade, and provoke his oppositions. He believes that if he can keep the enemy riled up, that eventually his sleight of hand will kick in.

Even though his talent for magic is reputable, Bael claims not to enjoy conflict. He can usually be found standing of to the side, so that his allies catch spotlight. In addition, Bael is primarily a support role. So while he's cracking jokes, he's also benefiting the team. Bael's biggest weakness might be that despite his flare of personality, he does little to nothing other than promote victory for his team. Anyone who is a real fighter however, can usually quickly decipher what role Bael plays in the team. He's the paramedic, the enhancer, and the debuff engine.

Despite not typically coming out to show his own abilities. Bael has expertise in hand to hand combat. He's even pretty good with a gun. So catching him in a battle could still prove to be an interesting event. Even more, Bael never denies someone the right to a battle. Instead, he likes to think it does wonders for the soul. So all that nonsense he usually talks about fighting, "isn't the answer," it's usually just him talking. After all, Phantom Lord is a guild for warriors-- is it not?

Likes:

  • Phantom Lord: Bael has a good opinion of the organization as a whole. He joined simply to help others shine, making him a great support to not only their charisma, but hopefully their ability to last n combat as well.

  • Music: Who doesn't like to blast some sound? Bael enjoys every and all genre. He especially loves it when a song is going on as people battle-- it makes for a better show!

Dislikes:

  • Government Control: Bael joined Phantom Lord to shake the world up. Naturally, he is with them on wanting to end the Magic Council. As most dark guilds do. More importantly, he wants to bring down the shackles binding society, and create a world of freedom.

  • Quitters: Nothing says more about a character, than when they can't finish their assignment. This is just a general perspective, honestly Bael knows he himself fits under it's broad spectrum. It's just not something he enjoys seeing.

Motivations:

  • Anarchy: A living anarchist-- the boy just wants to see how much trouble he can spur for the evil magic council. Even if he isn't a force to be reckoned with, Bael does his best to make this world his personal playground. One in which he can do whatever he pleases-- without laws to bide him down.

Fears:

  • Entrapment: Claustrophobia sets in within the first hour, driving Bael to harm his own body. He gets uneasy, naturally, he doesn't o well unless he's able to feel safe and roam about freely. Similar to an asylum, paranoia and etc will affect how Bael acts after being locked away for extended periods of time.

  • Old Age: Bael fears dying in a crippled old retirement home. He wants a luxury death. He wants to soar beyond reality, or at the very least. The mundane life. Bael naturally feels uncomfortable around elderly folks. He knows nothing can save them from rotting or withering away.

History

History:

Bael Decadence 5e2a74af980fb7bec94bf1f1d0d6c309

When Bael was just a boy, he had a special friend. A puppy given to him when he was six years old, the two played together for a long time. However, like many bad episodes occurring at home. Bael ran out of the house and his dog followed him. When Bael was found later that night his dog was gone, so he set out in search of it the next day. It had been a long day of looking with his father when Bael found the small dog laying face down with a snake bite on it's ankle. He broke down, feeling defeated and dead inside. When his father offered to bury it out by the house, Bael declined. Getting up to leave it there but his wet eyes glancing back just for a split second.

Sometime later, he returned with a medicine kit and attempted to help the baby dog up, but it didn't work. Th puppy was long deceased. Despair absorbed the small boy and-- almost noble in his loss, he vowed to keep others alive so that this didn't happen to them or their friends. So all his time went to that ambition, he'd become a veterinarian... No, even better, a surgeon.

Growing up the dark mage excelled in sciences and math, but had trouble reading and socializing as he grew up. Quite frankly due to his need to crack jokes and try so very hard at athletic endeavors. Ironically enough, Bael lost being valedictorian in highschool to only two other people more intelligent than he standing in his way. He didn't really care one way or the other, he knew he didn't have an interest in books, just sciences and formulas. He went off to learn his ways of medicine later that year, striking classes out faster than others. He studied so much, he was able to complete almost all of his schooling in just under a year and a half. Practically unheard of.

Sadly, this is where Bael Decadence takes his darker turn. He discovers magic at the start of his college life and while studying in the University delves deeply into it. All the while, darkness roots itself into his heart; as he watches innocent people get robbed of their jewels from the money laundering hospitals. The government is so evil, he whispers constantly. By the passing day, Bael etches closer and closer to some kind of insanity, his wires which held his rationality together crashes, collapses and then he goes silent. He murders the custodian of his dormitory, making off for the local hospital next, in which he burns it down. At this point he's learned quite a bit on medicine, but his magic is still very low in level. An outreach to a dark guild he's heard of leads his path to Phantom Lord; where he hopes to fit in and eventually fix the world.

In his head his goals have never changed. They just branched out. Instead of just healing others, he hopes to save them.

Freeing them of the sins of the political pigs.
Offering them a chance at life, to live it better! But with more and more body counts lining up under his belt; he questions whether his cause is even justice anymore. Though he also seems to be losing care for it entirely-- it's fun being bad. It's just the way of the world after all, to twist and turn. Some stories don't end happily-- that's the truth. Some people just don't end up heroes. Wouldn't you agree, Bael?
