Episode 2: Life is a Gift Shop (Starring September) Empty Mon May 01, 2017 2:05 pm

Geb
Geb held his hands in his pockets, walking down the busy streets of Oak in the mid day. He has left Gallent at a companion daycare today, as he was a little bit frustrated with the Munchlax, it having ate Geb's dinner last night. Kind of mad, Geb decided he'd take a little break off looking after the guy for a while and just have a "me day" as most would call it. Perfect, no worries there.

Walking into a gift shop, Geb figured he'd try to get a souvenir or something while he was in the city. While it was true that most of the things in a gift shop were just overpriced cash grabs, sometimes local artists would sell their stuff there - stuff that was actually quite well made. The gift shop was large, and even had a second floor.

Geb admired the beauty of a particular piece, a small painting of a woman looking outwards from the hill where the council building perched. It was absolutely beautiful in every way.. truly a work of art. Geb would purchase this. Taking it into his hands, he headed back down to the second floor, before tripping on his way down the stairs.

He would be fine, but he wasn't worried about himself.

Falling down onto the ground, Geb hurt - but he was going to be okay. The landing however was not so kind to the painting, which had been smashed in half practically. This wasn't good.. and with a shop full of witnesses, he'd probably have to pay for it now too.. what a bummer.

"Hmmm...", a woman muttered from the other side of the gift shop. There was something very quaint and cute about Oak that September liked. It was a place of scholars. That meant this city was comprised of creators and creatives. It was a town she could call home if she ever found herself looking for some place to stay.

The raven-haired woman turned over a decorative fan in her hands. It was a work of art, to say the least. The folds unwound to reveal a picture of a golden sunset that blazed over a depiction of the ocean below. The woman ran her fingers gently over the fabric and smiled solemnly. Her mother would've loved something like this...

September shook her head quickly to push those thoughts away. It wasn't something she could think about. She carefully slid the fan back into its black ceramic holster and turned back towards the interior of the shop. There was so much to offer in this gift shop. Most of it was grossly overpriced though. September chewed her bottom lip while she scanned the room for something of interest. Her lavender orbs skipped over lamps, vases, jewelry and the like until she noticed the staircase leading upwards. She couldn't help but wonder what might be up there...

As soon as the woman took a step towards the staircase she noticed a man holding a small painting at the top. She stepped to the side to let him pass but she also had a front row seat for when he somehow managed to trip and fall. September cringed as he fell on top of the painting he had held so preciously. The woman rushed to his side with a sort of apologetic smile on her face. It must be weird for a complete stranger to smile at you, but she did it anyways.

The woman pushed some of her black hair behind her ear and gently stroked one piece of the broken painting. "It'll be okay. I think I can fix it." She didn't wait for the man's response. She placed one manicured hand on top of the crack and took a deep breath. A moment later a lavender shaded magic circle blossomed underneath her palm. September used her magic to telekinetically reform the painting back into it former glory. She heard several gasps as people saw her use magic but she figured it was alright. There seemed to be a healthy mage population in Oak after all.

When the repair was complete the woman stood up and smiled at the man softly. "There you go~ I'm September by the way."

Geb
Geb was still a little bit dazed from his run in from the cold hard ground that the woman's voice didn't really even get through his brain. He knew there was a woman talking near him, but right now he couldn't really tell what she was saying. Once he got to his senses, he wiped dust from his face and looked over to see a woman and the painting, now fixed. He got her name though, September.

Geb smiled as if he was a kid in a candy store, and held his hands on the girl's cheeks, giving her a kiss on the forehead as if he was your aunt at a family meeting. He grabbed the painting, holding it and looking down at it. It was like there wasn't even a scratch, despite it being snapped in half just a moment ago. He turned up to face the woman.

"Thank you very much, Miss September. I'm Geb. Is there any way I can repay you for the conservation of this beautiful piece of art?" he looked as though there were lights in his eyes. This girl had made his day take a complete 180. Really, he'd do anything for her right about now. "Please, just say the word. I don't mind what it is, the gift you've given me is practically priceless. Likely, this is the only copy of this painting in the entire world. I would not want to disgrace the artist who put their time into it by having it break after minutes. You've done the artist a great favor."

The man seemed to be a bit dazed from his fall, though September didn't really blame him. He did just fall down a staircase. She watched as he wiped some dust from his face and then flashed her a winning smile. He was gonna be fine~

He looked down at the once smashed painting and then back up at her with a look of astonishment. September couldn't help the feeling of pride that came over her. She'd trained so hard to get her magic to this point... It felt good to use it to make others happy.

He introduced himself as Geb. The woman smiled a bit more. It was kinda cute. He insisted that he repay her somehow. September didn't really require anything but she didn't want him to feel bad for her helping him. She offered a hand to help him up. If he took it, she'd pull him up and walk with him towards the register. Once she paid, she'd readjust the bag on her shoulder and give him a pleseant smile.

"How about lunch?"

Geb
Geb would take the woman's hand, carrying his painting along with her to the checkout. After the two had finished up buying their products, the woman asked for lunch. Geb nodded, knowing well that he was hungry for some lunch also. "That sounds excellent. Perhaps we could go to a special place near here? It serves soup of different varieties, as well as some sandwiches as well. I think it would go perfect with both my beautiful painting and an outstanding woman such as yourself."

In truth, as usual, it seemed like Geb might have been hitting on the lady: but this was not the case. It would take quite the woman to make Geb actually feel any sort of attraction, it be romantically or sexually. For a teenager he was always surprisingly calm about that stuff.

"Now, the soup place is just up a few blocks to the north from here, if you're willing to go. I suppose there's also a couple of pizza places, as well as a restaurant with great tacos nearby as well." Geb's knowledge of Era cuisune was wide indeed. Mainly because him and his Munchlax just ate all day. Thankfully for Geb, his machia body allowed him to not gain wait, and as for his companion, well.. he wasn't losing any weight anytime soon anyways.

Geb
Geb looked this watch really quick and remembered that he had to be somewhere, a meeting with an old friend. Uh oh! He shouldn't of mad plans with this girl so hastily. Geb turned around to face her.

"Look miss, I'm very sorry, but I have to be going urgently. However! You can find me in Hargeon soon, and if you need find me later, visit Majura Gallery in Oak. It's a very nice place,
and I'm the owner, so just ask for Geb and I'll come out as quick as I can for you, okay? Thank you very much for everything: I will not forget you."
Geb then ran off in a hurry.

September blinked in suprise as the man turned to her and explained that he had forgotten about some prior-made plan. He bid her adieu but told her she could find him in Hargeon later if she wanted to see him again. It was fortitous since the Blue Pegasus Guild Hall was there and September happened to be a member.

The woman smiled to him and waved. She just might see him later.
