Nathaniel strolled calmly through Baska again, he began to become quite familiar with the city after all his walks and his attempts at aiding the community. He felt he was even making a name for himself. This was quite apparent when he strut past the hospital, loads of yelling and talking overpowering his thoughts only to hear his name called from the crowd. It was none other than Gerard.

Them man seemed panicked and ran over to Nat in a huff, grabbing the boy by the arm as he caught his breath momentarily and Nathaniel said nothing as he waited for him to relax. The man informed Nat he needed a favor and simply pulled him along, dragging him behind him through the crowd and back into the hospital where Nat was more than a little confused.

Why was he needed? What was going on? Well I guess he would find out momentarily one he got him where ever he was going.

Nathaniel found himself flying through the long blank halls of the hospital, with little words from Gerard beyond excuse me and pardon me as he rushed quickly through the hall. Nathaniel was bumped into and off of so many surfaces he was confident he would be bruised and battered by the time they arrived where ever he was meant to be. It wasn't much longer before he was dropped off inside of a room, Gerard running in and pointing to a rack that contained a number of garments and simply instructed him to throw one on, grab gloves and a hair net.

Nathaniel blinked a few times, but didn't question it too much, he didn't seem like he had time to even if he wanted to and threw on the requested garments quickly.

Walking over to Gerard he was finally told he would be aiding in a surgery.

Nathaniel didn't have enough to even panic, he was literally just told to hand the man equipment throughout the procedure. Luckily for him Nathaniel had seen enough of the internal workings of creatures in his time in the tundra. Nature played no favorites and he had definitely seen much more than his fair share of blood and gore. He was handing, cleaning and holding so many parts of the body, tools and gloves that he was definitely under qualified for. While the boy focused in and refused let anything distract him, he noticed a sharp wince as he turned his back, Gerard had cut himself.

Backing up, holding his wound, Nathaniel looked between the two and moved in to help him out. He finished cutting the connecting tissue, veins and arteries and removed the heart as the doctor had started. He turned his attention to the donated heart, lifting it gently into place and slowly beginning to stitch the pieces together. He continued to slowly close the open chest, inserting stitches slowly and steadily into the flesh as Gerard sort of watched bewildered by the boy's actions. When he finished he sighed, dropping the tools on the cart and placing his hands on the table before looking to Gerard for approval who simply sat their shocked.

The man cleaned and wrapped his new wound, pat Nathaniel on the back and enjoyed a short conversation with him. Nathaniel explained to him how he was raised in Enca and why this was no big deal, it was literally just survival instinct. To him something had to be done, win lose or draw and once things were roughly connected healing magic should be able to clean up whatever he may have screwed up. While his technique was obviously poor, he did get the job done and Gerard seemed to have a fairly admirable take on the young boy.

He collected his reward and head out, the doctor waved at him as he moved into the sunset unintendedly picking up another quest today on his day off. Well maybe he'd just relax tomorrow or maybe sometime in the near future he could afford to put his feet up and relax.
