A nice, cool breeze had begun to blow in the little port town of Astera. Coastal towns are often bestowed with docks, for ease of access and to support the merchants that prefer the sea route. However, unlike the larger port towns in Fiore, the docks in Astera bear a rather quaint waterfront. Usually, upon visiting one would find a modest set of simple wooden boats moored to the wharf. A single prong extends into the sea to provide more area for the boats and smaller ships to anchor themselves. From the docks, one gets a good view of the sea and the beacon that is built next to a small cliff. It was morning closing in on noon as shichiro arrive in the town and began to head to his destination since he had a pretty important request to carry out today. Wondering if he had time to take a detour, he pondered on whether he should grab a bit to eat or not seeing as he travelled quite a ways from Oak to Astera. Even though it was relatively close to each other, it still had been a rather long journey from there to here. Not only that, he'd have to head back to Oak as soon as his business was concluded here.

Sighing, he had hoped the client could show him someplace nice to go eat his fill for a relatively decent price. making hiS way through, he had realized this was actually his first time in this part of west fiore. It was pretty tranquil and not as bustling as most of the towns he had travelled too. If he liked being near the sea this would have been a great place for him to settle down and relax in but alas the time for retirement was quite a few years away.

Heading towards the docks, shichiro had pulled out the guild missive in order to go over the details regarding the equest he had recently taken. According to the missive, the client's name was Rhea, a happy wife living in Astera and works near the docks at one of the little bars. Her husband is fisherman but hasn't been himself lately. Eventually, he entered a deep sleep like many other men in Astera. Rhea is desperate to get her husband back from whatever is haunting him. Although he was suppose to pay attention to the details that would help him undergo the quest, he had zeroed in on the possibility of being able to fill his stomach. He wasn't much of seafood man but, he'll try anything as long as it's delicious. Brushing that aside, he continued to read the missive properly for an additional information. According to what it says here, some men of Astera have entered a deep sleep. Rhea, the wife of one of the men, has noticed that they all seem to be having the same dream. What the men call out from their slumber doesn't make much sense at all; talk of wending through woods and cricket legs.

Out of desperation Rhea has asked the Rune Knights to help her husband, but she fears the outcome may be a similar, if not more permanent fate. Well that is a shame indeed, although it would give him an idea of what he would do after meeting with the client. he'd try and talk to the woman known as Rhea first and then ask around for additional before going to find out where the victims were currently being held in order to hear what they might be murmuring about. Luckily for him, the missive had an address on it that he could just visit.

Arriving at his destination, he had arrived at a small, modest looking abode that could house a family of three. It would be a shame if they had children but he would soon find out. Pushing the gates to the home open, shichiro approached the door before giving a few taps with the knuckles of his left hand. Waiting a few moments, nobody came to the door. This time, shichiro tapped the door a little harder to see if he would get a response and still nothing. Now frustrated, he was about to bang on the door when suddenly a local had told him not to bother knocking on the door for the client  was almost never home nowadays. He had asked the local where he might be able to find her at this time and the local instructed him to go to this little inn down near the docks in order to find the person he was looking for. Thanking the person, shichiro had left in a huff feeling as if he had his time wasted.

The Inn he was directed too wasn't far considering this was just a very small town in comparison to the places he's been. Even Oak seems bigger but he'll digress. Making it to the inn he was instructed to go to, shichiro entered the facility in order to see what was going on. There wasn't much in the way of customers, most people here were females tending to the tables and bars and such. Making his way in, shichiro asked a nearby barmaid if the client, Rhea was in. The barmaid nodded and then hollered for her to come out. A meek looking woman made her way from the back of the bar in order to greet shichiro asking if he was the mage sent here to deal with the problem at hand.

"A-are you the adventurer mage that was sent here to aid us in our plight," the woman had asked. Looking directly at her, shichiro nodded, waiting for the response of the woman. He would have liked to get this part over quickly, get the information he desired and head on out to deal with the problem. The woman had then continued her story. "My name is Rhea you see. Sometime ago, the men had begun acting strangely as if they were entranced by something. They were almost somebody like but the all seem to have one goal, one destination in mind. They all want to seem to go to the alcove just off of the astera cliffs. You can't simply walk there you'd need a boat. There's one more problem. You're a male, I could sworn I specifically requested a female for this as I didn't want to send anymore males to meet a fate like my husband's. Oh dear, I miss him so much," Rhea had said bursting into tears.

Shichiro simply scratched the back of his head as he didn't really know how to deal with this kind of situation and wanted to just shrink. Another barmaid had came and tried to comfort her telling her, she needed to tell shichiro about how the creature seems to lure its prey in. Wiping away her tears, Rhea apologized and continued to speak. "Th-they say that before the men fall into their trance, they could hear singing from a song before attempting to travel to the cove. A few of them group together on boats and others drown trying to sim over there on their own. Fortunately, my husband has not suffered that fate and has returned to me albeit unconscious and suffering from night terrors. I-i just don't know what to do anymore," the woman had said crying once more.

Now that he got the information he sought, shichiro responded to the woman, assuring everything will be alright. Turning to leave the inn, Rhea had called out to shichiro to tell him one last thing. "Oh, one more thing! I don't know how helpful this will be for you but the song doesn't seem to work on males of a certain age, females and beasts. You look a little young, maybe you can get close to deal with it before it has time to know what's going on." Giving a faint smile shichiro nodded towards the woman one last time before exiting the inn. 'Doesn't work on beasts, huh,' shichiro thought to himself. Well, he'll have to test that one out, he pondered to himself. For now, he'd have to work on procuring a boat in order to get to his destination but who could he convince to allow him passage into the cove.

He'd think about it as he walked over to the piers. Arriving at the piers, there were many boats and ships docked. It seems like everybody is afraid to even think about sailing but he needed help. Looking around, he spotted a local saloon in hopes he could convince one person to take him out to the cove so he could attempt to deal with the problem at hand. Unfortunately, whenever he tried to flag people down for help, at the first sign of his intentions of going there, everybody had shot him down saying it was suicide. When all hope was lost, shichiro had contemplated resorting to theft when suddenly a tough looking, buxom woman had put her arm around his shoulder tell him she was the caption of a gang of no good pirates and he could grant him passage if he was looking to pay his way there.

The woman reeked of alcohol but he had to admit she was quite attractive, at least to him and a few others around them. As she clung to shichiro, she had swayed backwards almost taking them both down to the ground. The lass was clearly drunk but he chose to ignore it if she was the only way he was getting to that island. Reluctantly agreeing, shichiro took her offer and almost went to fish out some jewels from his pocket. The woman had stopped him and said she would charge him after he came back not bothering to hide the fact that if he entered a trance and decided to drown himself, she would just loot whatever he had off of his body for wasting their time. Groaning, he put his money back into his pockets before brushing her arm off of him. The buxom captain had then called to her men before they all began to cheer, taking up arms and scrambling out of the saloon.

The captain had then picked up shichiro and tossed him over her shoulder carrying him out too. At first, shichiro tried to squirm out of her grasp but she was skill in the way of handling people like she's done this before too many times. This already gave hi man ominous feeling but it was too late now. Resigning to his fate, he was carried aboard a stereotypical looking pirate ship with a black flag and skulls on the mast. The had undocked and set sail towards the cove of the cliffs. It didn't take long for them to make it to the entrance when suddenly, the men and shichiro could hear faint singing. He didn't know where it was coming from and he didn't really care as it was now time to test what the woman had said.

Knowing he didn't want to be under whatever effects that song might bring, Kizmaru began to transform into his full werewolf like  state. Ths allowed him to break free from the captain's grip and jump from right out of her hands. Of course this didn't go too well as the captain had begun to yell the word 'monster, attack this monster'. Unfortunately for her, her crew were all panicing and jumping into the sea or falling over unconscious due to the songs influence. Managing to turn into a werewolf, shichiro surrendered to his instincts as visions and the perceived sounds of the hunt had overtaken him. Knowing he was close enough, he rushed forward towards the direction of the cove and leapt as far as he could towards it, landing into the water. He then began to swim cross the rest of the way. The only thing he could remember was to kill the singing creature.

Making it into a damp and dark cave, shichiro could smell the fishy creature just up ahead. The creature's singign was louder now and this only served to anger shichiro as he lunged forward, barking and roaring only to drown out the song even further. The siren was now aware she was in danger but was too later to retreat into the water. Managing to catch up with the creature, shichiro wasted no time dispatching it with a single strike with his enhanced physique. Now that he's calmed down a bit, he decided to swim back to the ship with the corpse of the siren, instructing the captain to steer the ship back to town by point at her and then it. Doing as he says, they arrive back in almost no time. Shichiro had reverted to his base form before turning to the captain and winking before handing her the jewels She requested and a little more as hush money. Quietly checking on Rhea, it seems her husband had returned to normal and that was all that mattered. Leaving the town with the siren corpse, he figured it was time to take another request.
