Ko Lesalt

It had been a long time coming, but it was about time Ko get out of Marigold City and start looking for more lucrative work. He'd been spending entirely too much time doing odd jobs for the local Theater, and after getting caught up in Rosalia's plot to burn the farmlands he figured it was time to make himself scarce. After all, he was walking around with an enormous Flamewyrm following him for all to see. Someone was going to put together what happened at some point.

Luckily, he'd gotten word of a place in the mountains to the North that was having issues with a mine and disgruntled workers, so it was time to get out of town. It wasn't exactly a huge affair; he didn't have much to pack and wasn't leaving any family behind. Well, Rinni lived there, but it wasn't like she was going to stick around forever either. Guild work tended to include a lot of travel.

So with his belongings gathered, Ko climbed atop Nantosuelta's back and she took off with little fanfare, leaving Marigold behind. She grumbled about being forced to carry him, of course, but it didn't take Ko much work to convince her that it was worth it. After all, carrying him on her back like this was practically skinship. All it took was a few words of encouragement and knowing the right spots to scratch. Granted, Ko did most of this unaware of the extent of Nantosuelta's infatuation, but his ignorance didn't make it any less effective.

Even on Nantosuelta's back the trip wasn't short. They were flying for hours before they'd even passed central Fiore, and it was hours more before the Sieghart mountains came into view. They were more impressive than Fatal Peak in their own way; despite not being quite as tall, it was still an entire mountain range. It took another few hours for them to find the settlement where the mining company was based, but once they spotted it Nantosuelta swooped in for a landing, startling most of the people wandering about.

Ko Lesalt had arrived in the Sieghart Mountains.
