Kincaid

To help the sick was no small task but the Saint known as Father Jerad seemed to have no issue doing so. Never complaining or asking for anything in return for his services, and Kincaid always took note of it, now doing his own to help out. The priest had hired him to rummage around the East Forest in search of a specific flower, one who's properties would seemingly prove useful in the fight against illness. Something which the mage didn't mind doing what so ever, as long as he could help he didn't exactly care what he would have to do.

So leaving Father Jerad back in the church, Kincaid would instead make his way to the outskirts of the forest not sure where exactly to begin. The description he'd been given about the flora was that it was a flower with a red center and blooms into orange petals, almost like some kind of fire flower or something of the sort. It sounded pretty but it was also super delicate and small and he would have to do his best not to do anything detrimental to the herb before it reached the church. He'd never be able to forgive himself if he did.

Now, walking along the outskirts of the forest he would be in search of the shrub that housed this illusive Blessia flower. Which apparently wouldn't exactly prove useful as he hadn't spotted anything similar for the half an hour he'd been search around the edge of the forest. Discouraging as they may have been he still managed to keep a positive outlook on the situation, even though his face was as banal as ever; the same expression of boredom plastered onto it. Maybe it was time to go deeper into the greenery to find what he needed.

Kincaid didn't hesitate in the slightest to simply walk into the tall green trees, disappearing to any onlookers as he while he slowly but surely went deeper into the investigation. Now looking around and attempting to do quick observations, swatting mosquitoes and other insects away from his eye line while he focused. Looking for something, anything similar to the description of the plant but nothing was popping up and it didn't feel like he was getting any closer to the target. Maybe if he tried to connect to the earth with his magic? Nah, he wasn't a nature mage so that didn't seem plausible in the slightest.

Instead he would release a signature sigh and continue on his merry way, stopping every once in a while to look around and eventually his eyes would beam with happiness. Low and behold, he managed to find the Blessia in the shade of a tall tree and being eager he almost gripped a bushel to put into the sack he'd brought. That was until he stopped himself and looked closer, noticing the thorns all along the shrub... that was fun. Moving into a crouch, Kincaid would carefully begin to collect the specimen at least thankful he could find it.

Kincaid

Kincaid found the process to take much longer with the thorns constantly threatening to pierce his phalanges, and make it a clear point not to open any new wounds. Taking what he could and turning to find yet another one of the shrubs under the shade of a large tree, raising a brow he would note that supposed pattern. Or at least it was supposed until he looked around more and found the Blessia was only within the shade of the tall trees and never in the light, an interesting growing pattern for such a beautiful flower.

Moving to each of the shrubs, the Fairy Tail mage would work up a light sweat removing all the flowers that he could from the bushes and placing them in his collection sack. As much as he didn't like disturbing nature or anything of that persuasion he would do what he could for the people of Magnolia, even if they didn't know he would. Kincaid didn't need star status and a parade to know the little contributions he made to help others went a long way, and so with that in mind he would finish collecting the flowers and stretch a bit.

Letting out a small yawn and standing for a moment to enjoy the moment he would begin his journey back to the church. It wasn't exactly a long journey and so he wouldn't exactly rush, despite the circumstances, but he wasn't about to have a heart attack sprinting back to the chapel. So simply taking the time to think and plan he would journey back to the holy grounds, simply humming a simple tune the full way there. His stride as unbothered and unimposing as it usually was, eventually leading him back to the grounds of the place of worship.

Walking up the stairs to the church, he would open the doors and spot Father Jerad in the corner helping out a small family and greet him with a smile. It might not have been the most excited gesture but it worked, leading him to the arms of the man who was clearly happy to see he'd brought the flowers back. Especially in what the priest called 'perfect condition' which stroked Kincaid's ego ever so slightly, not that he'd show that. So with a humble heart and a small bow he would hand over the sack of flowers and Father Jerad would graciously accept.

Kincaid would then wait for the priest to go into his office, rummage around a bit and eventually hand over the sack of money that the young mage had earned. Instead of jumping for joy however, Kincaid would simply give a small thanks and be on his way to his next mission. He made it a point to do his best to remain humble and emotionally stable and jumping for joy over jewels wasn't exactly the best way to go about that. Bidding the priest and everyone farewell, he would close the church door behind himself and get ready for his next quest.
