Zyra Elroth
Having had a brief encounter with the princess of Marigold, next on the to-do list for the elven royalty, was to find a way to spend some time with the famous Alice Nightingale. Zyra had planned it all out, she had brought tickets to the upcoming play and was going to take any chance she got to sneak backstage and steal a few minutes with the celebrity. In her excitement, she had been eagerly waiting outside the theater, along with her partner Keryth Torvan.

A sliver of jealousy had embedded itself in the heart of the young elf though, as she wondered if Alice Nightingale would be everything that people said she was... If she was that pretty and had a voice that was so melodious that she had solos in almost every show... would Keryth fall for her and forget all about the Elroth? She wrung her hands and nervously chewed her lips till impatience gnawed at the elf and made her feel raw inside.

'I can't wait! I'm going inside to get a glimpse of how they prepare for a big show like this...' she said softly, turning towards her dark-haired friend. She didn't really want him to tag along, Zyra just wanted to gauge Alice's beauty for herself... But she had a sinking feeling that he would. She just swallowed the growing lump of insecurity in her throat, and began walking towards the theater.

Keryth Torvan
Keryth was dragged along towards the theatre right after their encounter with the Syllas princess. He had hoped the two elves would have some time to exchange stories regarding how they managed to escape their pursuers, mostly because he wanted to know if some were hot on their trail, but it didn’t seem like there was any talking to Zyra until she had seen this ‘Alice Nightingale’. Keryth didn’t care much for celebrities. He hated anyone who had the potential to steal his spotlight.

As the two waited outside, the dark-haired elf couldn’t help but chuckle at his partner’s impatience. He stood there, resting his back on the wall and twirling the Rogue Dagger in his hands, wondering when Zyra was going to lose it and just enter the theatre before it was time. It didn’t take long for it to happen. The elven girl announced her desire to go in and left without waiting for Keryth. He wasn’t sure whether she wanted him to follow or not, but in any case, he wasn’t going to let her out of his sight. It would be a real pain if she got lost and he had to find her again.

They would find Alice the moment they entered the large theatre; she would be pacing on the large stage, extremely stressed. It was clear the diva was in a pinch. Seeing the opportunity here, Keryth was ready to jump on it immediately. Hopefully, Zyra had the same idea.

Zyra Elroth
She knew it, the moment the two entered the grandiose theater, Keryth made a bee-line for the pretty actress. Zyra pouted, not that the dark-haired elf could see. She rushed along beside him, in an attempt to overtake him and reach the damsel first. The woman spotted the duo heading her way, haughtily and rather dramatically she said. 'Oh! Tell me you two are here to replace the spot-boy!' she exclaimed. A make up artist, presumably, rushed to her to dab her forehead while the performer sighed heavily. 'So rude of him to not turn up this way, he says he's sick, but I bet he's just lazy.' She added while eyeing the elven pair, as though scrutinizing them to see if they were smart enough to keep up with the requirements of the job.

Zyra was a little star-struck, she had grown up among the nobility, but the elves were taught to be more tempered, she longed to express herself like this, the way Alice Nightingale could. Her mouth hung a little agape as the artist went onto explain the job description of a spot boy. 'So I just have to handle the curtains?' Zyra confirmed... her voice soft and a little unsure. The lady nodded slightly, narrowing her eyes at the lavender haired elf, almost out of some jealousy herself. 'And stay out of sight too...' she added.  Zyra looked a little confused at the sudden abrasion in the woman's tone, but didn't say anything. Alice turned to face Keryth.

Keryth walked fast, but not too fast. He didn’t want the diva to think he was some overeager fan swooning over her. However, unfortunately, Zyra did exactly that and a soft sigh escaped the elf’s lips. The star mistook the duo as the replacement for her missing spot-boy. The way she spoke, he wouldn’t be surprised if the guy deliberately ditched her to show how ‘important’ he was. Before Keryth could utter a word, the two ladies were already in a conversation. He stayed a good five feet away from them, but still could hear them.

While Zyra couldn’t understand why Alice was rude to her, it was a little too obvious to Keryth. After all, if he was in her place, he would have said the same thing, only not so rudely. Whether they liked it or not, it seemed the two were going to be the replacement for her missing spot-boy. Zyra was asked to take care of the curtains and it was Keryth’s job to shine the lacrima lights on her, all the time. Alice’s tone changed completely when she was talking to Keryth. It was a lot sweeter and in fact, had a naughty tinge at the end of every sentence. He loved the attention, but wasn’t going to fall for this simple trick.

Once she gave him the instructions, he bowed slightly and let her get back to prettying herself up. “Well… You did want to meet her backstage,” he said to Zyra before taking his position. Soon, the seats were filling up and the play was about to start.

Zyra Elroth
Zyra frowned, she had to bite her lip to prevent herself from lashing out at the star, for so obviously attempting to flirt with Keryth. Several possibilities of things she could say, to taunt her flitted through her mind, from he's too young for you... or to more cruelly point out her age... you're too old for him... and so on. But her thoughts remained caged in her mind, from the little that she knew of humans, they were much like elves in terms of not revealing what they truly thought or felt to strangers. It would be unbecoming of her to reduce herself to slanders. Plus, it would definitely not aid her chances with Keryth if he saw her behave aggressively, she'd just have to find another way to get back at the hoity-toity artist.

Grumbling internally, she wordlessly took her place near the strings that controlled the curtains. Unfortunately, Keryth was on the other side, burdened with the responsibility of handling the actual spotlight. When the audience had settled in and the narrator had announced the play, Zyra took her own sweet time in hoisting the curtains. Her deliberate delay earned her a nasty look from Alice, but Zyra was beyond caring now. The oh-so-sweet Nightingale was now the enemy, it was hilarious how soon her opinion of the woman changed, based on the way she interacted with Keryth. It was show time and Zyra would find ever small window to ruin Alice's deliverance through the play...

Keryth Torvan
The show began soon and Keryth enjoyed the scene in front of him. Not the one of the play, but the one between Zyra and Alice. He couldn’t help but chuckle when his partner took every opportunity to ruin the stage actress’ moments with her terrible timing of the curtains. After few such occurrences, he waved and hissed at Zyra to stop. He didn’t want the lady to not reward them because of this. After all the time and ‘effort’ he put into this, it would be terrible if he didn’t get paid.

And because of that fear, he took his job a little more seriously than Zyra did. He followed Alice’s instructions carefully and ensured the lacrima spotlights were almost always on her. Sometimes, even when it was not warranted. The other actors of the play didn’t seem to like that fact much, but they weren’t the ones paying him. He just shrugged when one of the actor came backstage and began hissing at him very aggressively. “New to the job,” was all the excuse he had while he kept all the spotlight on Alice.

After what seemed to be an hour of standing and shining the light on the brunette actor, the play came to an end. It was nothing phenomenal; just another slapstick romance tragedy. Many scenes made the dark-haired elf roll his eyes, and he only stopped doing it because it eventually gave him a headache. The crowd cheered and gave a standing ovation nonetheless. Keryth couldn’t believe the stupidity of these fans. The boy thought once the show was over, he would get the reward and can leave. But, unfortunately, the two had to wait while Alice addressed her fans and began signing autographs. Keryth walked to Zyra and groaned impatiently.

Zyra Elroth
The actress went so far as to threaten the elven princess as she headed backstage between a scene, there was no way for anyone except Zyra to have heard her words. 'You do that again and I'll make sure you're kicked out of Marigold and banned from returning... Or worse.' Zyra didn't even flinch, if it came down to it, she'd happily walk out of Marigold, return to her hometown and command an army of elves to tear down this whole theater establishment. Of course, these were the naive elf's assumptions, the elves were not a population that was strong enough in number to ever wage a war on any human civilization. Zyra just narrowed her eyes and stuck her tongue out at the woman.

The only reason she stopped messing up her job, was because Keryth requested her to. It made her mad though, that he cared so much, he always kept the spotlight on the stupid actress, it made Zyra almost want to fight him, except she couldn't actually bring herself to imagine hurting her best friend. She had to settle for complaining internally again. At least the show soon drew to a close. The girl swiftly tailed the actress, they squared off briefly, with the elf tapping her foot expectantly. The two had filled the place of the spot boy, they deserved their dues.

Keryth Torvan
Keryth had no idea of the conversation backstage between Zyra and Alice. It wasn’t like he would have done anything about it even if he knew; probably acted like he didn’t notice it at all. It wasn’t a good idea to piss off the one who was going to pay you, at least not until they have paid you. He stood beside Zyra as Alice signed for every fan. The stupid crowd got her autograph on a variety of things that ranged from a normal piece of paper to a life-size poster of the actress herself. It seemed like she was deliberately taking her own time and making the duo wait. Keryth was losing patience.

Thankfully, before he did something to attract her attention, she waved goodbye to the crowd and approached the two. First, she gave a nasty look at Zyra and then her expression quickly changed to a sweet and seductive one as she laid her eyes on Keryth. “Oh! I know what you want,” she said, before taking his hand and signing on his palm. Immediately after, she planted a kiss right below the signature, leaving an imprint of her lips thanks to her bright red lipstick. Keryth laughed nervously, and was frankly a little weirded out. This definitely wasn’t what he wanted. Where is my money, bitch? his brain screamed as he struggled to keep a smile on his face. “Bet you won’t wash that hand for days,” she said, laughing hysterically. At this point, he just wanted to run; if only he didn’t love money as much as he did. Finally, she pulled a small pouch of jewels and handed it to Keryth. She bent to whisper in his ears. “Come back, won’t you? Alone…” she said with a giggle, as she walked away all the while squinting at Zyra.

Once she was out of sight, Keryth turned to Zyra and shrugged. Shaking his head in disbelief, he walked out of the theatre, making a mental note to wash his hands first thing once he gets an opportunity.

Zyra Elroth
Alice momentarily glared back at her, before turning away with a scoff and proceeding to ignore the princess, like she didn't exist. Alice instead went to meet and greet her fans, that fake smile and all the hair flipping made Zyra nauseous. Meanwhile, Keryth had joined her side and reflected her annoyance with his little grunt. She cheered up a little at having him within her vicinity, but it seemed there was no other way to get out of here soon, except to send the Torvan to go get their reward. 'You go get the money...' Zyra finally said, slumping a little, feeling defeated at having to send him to the Nightingale.

She tagged along and narrowed her eyes, she avoided entering another staring contest with the actress and instead assessed Keryth's motions to try and figure out if he truly was all glamorized by the actress or not. Zyra couldn't really tell, she stayed away from the duo as the interacted, there was much giggling and eyelid-batting on the part of Alice, it seemed Keryth responded with politeness...  At least that's what the Elroth wanted to believe.

Zyra opened her mouth to protest as she picked his hand to kiss it... She cursed in her head as she began shuffling just to dissipate all the negative emotions that had collected inside her. The keen performer noticed and smirked... That was quite enough, the elf turned and began walking away, blinking away tears. She paused a few meters away and watched the money change hands. Once the dark-haired elf had the reward and Alice had walked away, Zyra muttered under her breath. 'What an idiot...' and led their exit from the theater.
