But for him? There were people that stood out even among the recruits, even among those you’d consider rookies. One such individual was someone that piqued his interest from the get go. It was rare for people that weren’t quite adults to join the rune knight for one reason or another. But they rarely turned them away; in fact using their time as youths to build them up still.
It had its consequences sure but the record and application of a particular Nikolai von Mardt crossed his desk one morning alongside another individual he had already spoken to. He had originally thought the pair brothers but that had been dashed when he read into the reports of both. They had simular backstories to a degree which was unfortunate; the similarities however both had them rising to the occasion to join the rune knights.
The rune knight general was sitting in his office, pondering over all of this when he realized he could speak to them. The reports of who was where coming to his desk and he was thrilled to see they were in town; sometimes you could never get to talk to someone just because they were halfway across the world. Getting to speak to someone so earlier in their career was a boon on itself. So he’d send one of the guards to go and get the youth and sent the other to go and take a break.
Saturn leaned back in his chair thoughtfully, staring at the ceiling with cracked eyes. The honeyed hues of gold pondering what all he could do with so many that were so willing to pursue justice. Just this last month they had exploded in ranks and he felt like that was going to continue. He had even got word that many people were looking forward to their rehoming in vander tower.
It would be strange to have the headquarters away from the capital but in an effort to distance themselves from politics it was the wisest move to use the generals personal holdings to host the rune knights. His smile widened a little bit as he realized that would make vander tower even more of a bustling city state.

He was practically the guardian of the little dwarven dragons and that was absolutely fine with him. Having a mighty companion of that ilk was one thing but to take the whole nation of them under your belt was certainly quite another! He’d love for them to be associated with the rune knights as a whole and be able to live in peace. It was something that he could see happening in the years to come…
