Veles

Veles couldn't help but chuckle at Toga's enthusiasm, she could understand why Ryuko found the young Rune Knight so endearing. His innocent excitement was almost infectious, to the point she decided to give in to his longing. "Very well~ Although we won't have time to do all the floors today, I can make you participate in a special challenge~ Wisteria, are you there?"

As Veles called out toward the entrance of the tower a young woman clad in armor emerged. A light tilt of her head following as if she wordlessly conveyed something. "Can you please set up the Wheel of Fortune for our guest?"

The young woman nodded her head lightly in confirmation as she moved inside, making Veles beckon for Toga to follow them. Once inside the reception hall the young lady from before could be seen unveiling what appeared to be a massive wheel on a pedestal. Urging Toga forward she hummed softly. "Go ahead and place your hand on the pedestal, it will spin the wheel and pick a challenge for you to undertake."

Once Toga had done as requested the young dragon goddess chimed softly as the wheel started to spin. "I wonder what you'll get~ Oooh, is that one --- nope, seems you landed on the 'Riddlemaster."

As the wheel stopped spinning the arena inside the tower suddenly seemed to shift and distort, revealing a large spacious coliseum-like arena with at its center a trio of massive Sphynxes. Veles approached the arena as she explained: "The riddlemaster, as you can likely guess is a battle of wisdom. Each of these sphynxes will ask you a riddle to solve~ Ladies can you explain the rules again please?"

The Sphynx at the center smiled warmly at the three of them. "Of course Lady Veles~ Well young man, each of us will ask you a riddle that you need to answer. You can try multiple times, but for each failed answer we will enact one punishment. Your companion is allowed to help, but if you provide a wrong answer she will suffer the same penalty."

Veles brought a hand to her chin, pondering for a moment. "And what is this punishment again?" The sphynx closes the the duo chimed softly. "A sacrifice! We will teleport away one of their layer of clothes! Of course we can't harm a guest from Veles-sama so instead you will be considered as having failed the trial if there are no more clothes to sacrifice~ BUT, to make it a bit fair we will allow you to ask for one hint after your first attempt to answer us~"

The last sphynx asked with a excited hum. "Will you be participating?" Veles smiled weakly and swiftly shook her head. "I will be spectating today~ Good luck Toga-chan, Stri-chan~"

And with that the void goddess suddenly reappeared among the audience seats. The first sphynx hummed softly. "Ready young one? If so, let us know and we shall state the first riddle~"

The prospect of a challenge, even one that deviated from Tōga’s usual physical prowess, ignited an unmistakable glimmer in his eyes. The moment Veles summoned the Wheel of Fortune, reshaping the arena into a dynamic battleground of intellect and whimsy, the dragon slayer was captivated. Before him, the colossal, spinning wheel gleamed with vibrant sections, each representing a different trial. The air buzzed with anticipation. "Ooooi! This is amazing!" Tōga exclaimed, his voice reverberating in the transformed chamber. He sprinted toward the massive construct, unable to contain his excitement. With a wide grin and boundless energy, he clutched the lever on its side. "Okay, let’s do it! Spin, spin, spin!" His enthusiastic pull sent the wheel into a dizzying whirl, the segments blurring into a kaleidoscope of potential challenges.

Strigr lingered behind, her pink-haired master’s antics bringing a subtle smile to her lips. Yet, as always, her cautious nature kept her grounded. "Otō-san never stops to think what’s coming," she murmured softly, arms folded as she watched the spectacle unfold. Her gaze darted between the spinning wheel and Veles, her mind already contemplating what kind of trial they might face.

The wheel spun endlessly—or so it seemed—before slowing, its rhythmic clicks echoing like a countdown to destiny. Finally, the golden arrow stopped on an unexpected section: Riddle Master.

Tōga leaned in, squinting at the result as if trying to decipher some hidden meaning. "… Riddle Master?" His tone betrayed both curiosity and mild disappointment. His fiery enthusiasm momentarily dimmed as he realized this wasn’t going to involve swords, flames, or grand battles. From her spot near the edge of the room, Strigr couldn’t help but chuckle. "Otō-san, while you’re unmatched with a blade, it seems your true challenge has finally found you," she teased, her melodic voice laced with amusement. Her words carried a hint of concern, knowing well that riddles were not her master’s forte.

Tōga huffed dramatically, crossing his arms like a child denied dessert. "This is just a warm-up, you’ll see!" he declared, regaining some of his confidence. The air shimmered, and two imposing sphinxes materialized before them, their eyes glowing with ancient wisdom. They spoke their instructions in rich, melodic tones. Each incorrect answer, they explained, would result in the removal of an article of clothing—a high-stakes twist that made Strigr visibly pale.

"Wait, what?!" Strigr gasped, her cheeks flushing as she instinctively pulled her kimono tighter around her frame. She cast a horrified glance at Tōga, who seemed far less concerned with the implications. "Let’s do it!" Tōga declared, his fist punching the air as though ready to fight riddles the same way he fought dragons. The consequences didn’t seem to register, or if they did, they were drowned out by his eagerness for the challenge.

Realizing her master’s carefree attitude would likely lead to a rather embarrassing outcome, Strigr quickly stepped in. "I’ll help!" she blurted, her voice firm despite her rising panic. "Otō-san, please think before you answer anything."

Tōga flashed her a thumbs-up, completely misreading her apprehension. "No worries, Strigr-chan! We’ve got this!"
