According to the details listed on the file the Star Squirrel was larger than the average squirrel and possessed the unique ability to fly for a short period of time. It was also quite fast which would prove to be a detrimental perk for Veles to deal with.
The Star Squirrel was quite docile, often kept even as pets in its native region. However, it seemed that for this creature she wouldn't need to take long to start tracking it down.
In the distance she could see the Star Squirrel munching on a candy apple while sitting on top of a bench. The creature looked so innocent and carefree among the partygoers that it was almost endearing even.
Veles slowly approached the creature, pondering how she could best handle the docile creature when an idea stirred from amidst her memories. Animals, just like children could be skittish at times, but they were also quite easy to coax into a sense of comfort.
As such Veles approached the nearby vendor booth that had been peddling their festive wares and purchased a Candy Apple. The treat looked delicious, but it was not for her. Nay, it was bribery to make the Star Squirrel feel comfortable around her.
As she approached the bench and took a seat beside it the Star Squirrel had just finished its treat and looked up at her with its large eyes, blinking in bewilderment. It was only after a moment that Veles gently extended the candy apple in her hands toward it, leading the small creature to let out a soft yip of delight and started to munch on the treat.
She had to admit this was not the type of adventure she had expected when she came to Crocus, but for some reason she didn't feel all too uncomfortable with a more peaceful memory like this. Finally after the Star Squirrel had finished its treat the little creature darted over to her side and started to climb onto her arm, circling around her shoulder till it nestled next to her head, seemingly having imprinted itself onto her! What a weird little creature....
