The bitter cold blew at them all the same however. The wind especially bitter to one small fluffy cat friend that accompanied Jikan as she was dressed in her trademark red, black, and white coat. The feline stowed away within a bag hanging around Jikan's neck and rested against the warmth, fleeting as it xould be at times, of Maxx’ own fire and body heat. In time the falling snow turned into a still trickle as the trio ascended up their path. Resting in a quiet emptiness that barely carried the sound of snow being shifted under the weight of footing. Before the arrived at what appeared to be the mark in their map.
The mouth of the cavern yawned before Jikan, Maxx, and Mia, its dark interior promising secrets long forgotten. With each step, the air grew cooler, the soft echo of dripping water becoming a steady companion. Jikan's hand went out to her side as she dismounted. A spark of a match as soon as a torch flickered to life, casting eerie shadows that danced along the jagged walls, while gazed around from within the bag before hopping down herself.
