Ittindi
Ittindi was surprised to see the letter at his current inn, a small bed and breakfast called the Serpents Stable, the people of Seven had such interesting habits. Ittindi found himself loving their food more than any other country so far. A small shame that he’d never admit it aloud to anyone, he had found the best food at a inn and landed himself a part time job here. Their customs for service was very foreign, but Ittindi had taken to it after his 3rd week in the country. The people were very helpful, or maybe it was his personality Ittindi didn’t find it hard to please others.  The letter was transcribed from the arena indicating the public’s interest in his fight against the Young Master. If anything it’d be a good gauge of his recent improvements, though the idea of resurrecting on the arena wasn’t something Ittindi wanted to explain to the Young Master.  Not to mention the destructive spell he had learned to trigger on his own passing.  He’d send off an acceptance letter knowing the Young Master wouldn’t pass up such an offer.

Present

Service comes so easy for you Ittindi, when will you serve yourself? You are a perfect servant, that’s how you ended up in this situation, but how will you become the best?

Ittindi’s partner chirping at his every surface thought, he let more and more through these days. He had finally found someone who didn’t like him, the very gods themselves, none would accept his death. In his own way he had found a way past Naki’s threats as well, they had stopped though he still had the inclination towards danger. That much was obvious as he found himself walking towards the arena ready to fight his  Young Master once again. His new senses tingling in anticipation, it meant that he was probably already in his room. Ittindi wouldn’t take any time registering his new gun into the arena system, as well as a couple accessories.

They’d take him to his waiting room, he hadn’t been to interested in looking into what arena they had scheduled the two into. He was sure it’d be thematic again, the crowd seemed to think there was a chance it would make the difference against the Young Master. No Ittindi knew that when he would be able to beat him, because then he’ll truly see his friend’s rage. Ittindi had confided enough after the Jikan incident that he knew he could at least unleash on Ittindi with no worries. A thought that scared him as the door opened before him into the arena.

Ittindi would pull the Punisher off his back as he walked out into the arena, today’s weather was perfect. Not overcast but just enough clouds that the sun was beating down with him alongside his lifetime friend. Ittindi’s jaw would drop as he peered out at the arena this time, the seven coordinators really knew how to sell tickets.

On the eastern most side of the arena there was a large slope upwards, at the top randomly fire pitched spheres 5 meters in radius are hurled down the slope towards Ittindi and the Young Master. What a frightful arena, he wouldn’t have much time to practice with his Punisher with how unwieldy it was. He already felt better about his chances, he had improved, the problem was so did his Young Master, Ittindi refused to be the first to plateau. His Right hand itching to pull the trigger as soon as the announcer gave the go ahead, he wouldn’t need to focus on the boulders with his new senses.

Knuckles Shi

Once more the Daemon found himself in the familiar walls of the Arena in the Seven. Since establishing his guild here he had taken a more focused role in the arena. He had fought Jikan, Yuurei, his beloved Lumikki, Brone, and Ittindi to name a few. There was also Ikanbi and a member he had met when he was stepping out of the Paradise Dawn Guild, Zeno. He had won most of these fights but still had lost to the infamous Yuurei, the angel slipping through his grasp evens till.

Today though he was facing off with his oldest friend Ittindi, the man who sought to be the best butler in the world. It was an odd dream, but he supposed it was not all that much of a leap for a man raised into it. As Knuckles heard it, his friend was very sought after and was popular with many groups of people from different guilds, while Knuckles, while he had been with three guilds now, was not someone many wanted.

It could have been his history with his first two guilds, but he had been working on that to become more approachable with a wider scope of people to draw in a wider net of fighters to the guild. He was also hoping the more fights he got himself into within this arena he would get the guild's name out there and also have more people who enjoyed fighting to come to it. It was a solid plan and so far had gotten him a few members.

Knuckles stood at the gate and thought back to his last fight with Ittindi, he was using guns the previous time and so he had to pick a good weapon to face off against him. Well he was tapped out there as of course, he only had the two hammers. Perhaps he should think about switching to a different armor then, he had three sets now. Perhaps the Vizard Mask with the new red armor? That seemed like the better play with things.

Knuckles became swallowed in a red aura as red armor called Oni Knight equipped itself to the Daemon. Yeah, it was a bit ironic he was facing a man with an Oni inside of him, and that a Daemon was wearing it but also, he had another Demonic item to wear with it. Lifting his hand to his face he called the White Vizard Mask over his face.

Feeling the now familiar weight of the mask on his face that stuck even though there were no binds on it, Knuckles chuckled as he stretched out his arms and summoned his hammers. Now that he was dressed for Battle Knuckles stepped out the door as it opened to see what could only be described as a Hot Wheels car track laid out in front of him. Well, there had been the worst arenas he had fought in.

As things went this was not all bad. It was time to get busy!

Ittindi
Ittindi would wait impatiently nothing was more awkward then when both competitors entered the arena and were waiting on the announcer to finish up the introduction so they could get the action underway. The crowds’ roars would start to dull for Ittindi as his focus was on the Young Master.  Soon the quiet would be as much a signal as the announcer, as Ittindi planned to keep his game plan simple. The people wanted to show, the best way to do that was with a firework opener.

Ittindi would lay out a three-fire burst center mass at his Young Master. He knew there’d be a flaming pile of possibly dung coming his way soon. He couldn’t tell what they were setting on fire, but he could smell it even without his preternatural senses it’d be hard to miss. Or maybe that was a way it tried to throw off its exact location, the audience had surely noticed that Ittindi hadn’t even bothered to look at the spheres of flames. He realized this a little after one of the audience members threw a tomato at his head. He dodged it without looking, and the realization hit him. As he looked over at the burning pitch occasionally, enough to entertain the crowd. His Young Master would be able to see clearly Ittindi wasn’t really looking.

”Why, Young Master how do you like my newest purchase. Your tax dollars hard at work.”

Ittindi was of course joking, but all rich people hated taxes, the only people who hated them more were poor people. He doubted that he’d ever be able to provoke his Young Master into any action, they had spared to many times. He didn’t know how much longer he’d be able to keep up only using his items.

He hadn’t seen the armor his Young Master was using today, he wondered if it was more effective against ranged fighters. It hadn’t occurred to Ittindi that this sparring was just as useful for his Young Master, he had assumed these sessions were to help him as a favor. Ittindi recognized the mask, he had seen it once, though memory of its uses escaped him. Better to aim for the armor first, feeling weird not being able to shoot miasma to slow down the Young Master.  How long would he hide his magic from the world it had been more than half a year, the only people witnessing it at Amaforth.

Knuckles Shi

Knuckles Shi watched the three-shot burst fire from the new gun of Ittindi propel towards him. With ease, the Daemon twisted and weaved on. Instantly, the crowd's roar surges as excitement palpably spreads through the air caused by the view of this fast exchange. He couldn't help but smirk under the Vizard Mask, feeling the familiar adrenaline pump through his veins.

As the bullets whizzed past, Knuckles couldn't help but grudgingly admire the great maneuvering of his old friend. That new gun has a nice kick to it, he thought impressed. He could see that Ittindi had invested in quality, and it showed in the weapon's precision.

"Excellent work, Ittindi! For once using the money wisely earned," Knuckles yelled across, the voice laced with playfulness. He knew Ittindi was trying to keep things light, but Knuckles was always ready to ramp up the intensity.

The smell of pitch burning and the flaming spheres everywhere did nothing but add to the general air of chaos. But to Knuckles, he did not mind; that was just what he loved dynamic battlefield with one strong opponent and a delighted audience who came to see a show. He could feel it in their energy; he was more than ready to give them something to remember.

Clenching his hammers in his fists, Knuckles decided it was time to give the pace a shove. Ittindi might be testing his new gear, for all Knuckles knew, but Knuckles was here to test himself and to remind his friend of one or two things about why they were in the arena together.

Knuckles would start to run trying to avoid the flames as he did so now making a beat for Ittindi, he could toss his hammers sure, but he wanted to see if Ittindi had grown faster since their encounter. Knuckles had, but not a noticeable amount.  He was still striving to bring his speed up to the rest of his physical attributes.

It would not take the Daemon more than a few seconds to reach full speed as he charged at Ittindi, this time he would not try and dodge the man's attacks if they came he would let them hit just to keep his speed.

Ittindi
Ittindi was surprised by his Young Masters insistence on the basics, but then again he had the same poor habit when it came to cleaning. Perfect if you wanted to be just that, perfect. Not something Ittindi would strive for in battle, he was scum, and he’d unload more rounds aimed center mass. The drain on his mana had become natural between this and the dominator. Ittindi wouldn’t have time to see if his shots had any effects, right after his last bullet exited, his danger sense would be screaming at him. Lunging laterally Ittindi hoped to both barely escape his Young Master’s clutches. By shooting first he wanted to give his Youn Master time to build up momentum so a direction change would be harder to do on the fly.

He had worked on speed drills with his rifle, it had been one of his first concerns when he bought the weapon. He had put in hours of endurance training to maintain his speed while holding such an unwieldy weapon. Ittindi had considered using the explosives on that charge, but he wanted to save those for when he was more assured of its effects. Ittindi knew that he wouldn’t have much time as his lunge ended putting him 25 meters from where the door in the center of the arena stood.

Ittindi had to make a quick decision if he wanted to try and stay on the run from his Young Master or to face off. He decided that it was time that he show off his own speed against someone in heavy armor like his Young Master favored. Ittindi would take off in a sprint trying to maintain the distance between the two. It would be met with boos from the crowd as the barrier would go up to prevent any fruit or other perishables that might cause Ittindi to slip.

Ittindi hated running from the Young Master he was all aware of that hammer and its ability to find it’s target regardless of where they hide. He was paranoid that he’d be slammed in the head by that thing, he wasn’t sure how he felt about using his other resurrection technique. He had promised no magic during their fight, but with his recent change, as Ittindi remembered the horrors of waking up with white hair and pupils. He had that inner feeling that he could bring himself back by his own will, but their was a eery feeling he had attached to the process.

There were no such qualms when he used his magic from Naki, so he had only been using that. It was an opportunity to try out his explosion in a contained arena, he had been briefed a billion times about he safety of the barrier between the audience and them.

Knuckles Shi

Knuckles charged forward, totally unfazed as Ittindi’s shots rang out. Instead of blocking them, he just let them hit his Oni armor. Let’s see what you’ve got, Ittindi, he thought. If Ittindi’s new skills could break through, Knuckles would be stoked—finally a reason to kick things up a notch. But as the blasts hit, they just bounced off.

He felt a twinge of disappointment. Ittindi was clearly focused on his weapon training, and maybe he thought it wouldn’t be fair to use magic against Knuckles. Either way, it was clear that Ittindi was all about mastering his gun skills before adding magic into the mix.

Even as the blasts hit, Knuckles barely flinched. The armor absorbed the hits, though he could still feel the force behind them. Pain was no stranger to him; his scarred body was a testament to that.

Keeping up his speed, he tracked Ittindi’s movements. The butler was pulling away—again. A grin crept onto Knuckles’ face. Should he throw his hammer to remind Ittindi of last time? Or should he show off the real power of his Vizard Mask? With that and his demon powers, there’d be no chance Ittindi could escape.

In a low, teasing voice, he said, “Run, Ittindi, run. But I will catch you. This game of tag won’t last long.”

As mana surged through him, Knuckles felt the change coming. The White Vizard Mask expanded from just his face, wrapping around his head as long, twisted horns shot out. Black markings flowed down his neck and chest, while his skin turned a bone-white. His crimson hair grew wild, cascading down his back, and his nails transformed into razor-sharp claws.

Gasps of horror rippled through the crowd, mingling with excited cheers as they witnessed the transformation. The announcer's voice boomed over the arena, calling out the action. “And there it is, folks! Knuckles Shi has unleashed the power of the Vizard Mask! What a breathtaking transformation! Can Ittindi keep up now? This is going to be wild!”

This transformation was a whole new level of power. Unlike his regular Daemon Transformation, which boosted his abilities by 50% and allowed him to fly with those massive black wings, the Vizard Mask took things to an insane 75% increase in Strength, Speed, Constitution, and Endurance. The Daemon Form could weaken nearby enemies, but this form was all about raw power and speed.

Knuckles’ body pulsed with energy, and the ground felt light as he launched himself forward, leaving afterimages behind. With a single leap, he could soar across the battlefield, and his strikes had the force to shatter stone.

This was the kind of power he hadn’t unleashed before. It was wild and primal, showing just how fierce he could be. A grin stretched across his face, now more feral than human.

Letting out a fierce roar that echoed through the air, he locked eyes on Ittindi. “Now, let’s see how long you can keep running.”

Ittindi
The Young Master seemed intent on closing the distance, instead of stalling for more time to defend himself, he just took the shots straight. He'd toss his rifle outside the arena, as the crowd gasped, it was time for the melee it seemed. Ittindi’s skill with his pistol, not to mention that his Young Master's infamy enabled functions that Ittindi rarely got to use. The dominator transformed as he’d, its form becoming more aggressive and violent, the screeching of the machine inside the gun as Ittindi would face Knuckles and fire off two shots at his chest.

”Tag? No this is a game of dodgeball for me.”

He knew that in its current form that the shots should pass through his armor giving Ittindi his first landed hit on the Young Master. Unless he had something to stop that too, it wouldn't completely surprise him. The Young Master had a way of always planning, Ittindi wouldn’t worry about that for now. He prepared himself for the melee, this time he had a preternatural sense on his side. His newest training regimen involved having swordsman swing on him in the training yard while he practiced his dominator. He had learned a couple of different ways to drop down or step in and out to create space.

In the background, another flaming pitch was hurled and rolling straight in Ittindi’s direction. That was the second part of his plan, with his senses he’d know exactly when it was coming, it was up to how he engaged the Young Master to try and have his back to the pitch. At the moment they were perpendicular, which meant Ittindi would need to take what he would guess is the weakest hit. Then have that rotate him to refocus his Young Master.

He also had to protect his gun, so far the Young Master hadn’t seen fit to abuse that fact. It didn’t mean that precedent would stay. There was also the fact that Ittindi still hadn’t used his magic once since engaging his friend in the arena. It was surely going to come up next time they were talking in a bar or lounging somewhere. Training was one thing, but he felt that Young Master wanted an earnest duel. That would have to be outside the arena, perhaps when he was training spells next he’d finally have to explain everything rather than using his fiancé as a crutch and mentor.
