Jikan

It was all a smoothy journey up to a certain point. The quiet talking and motion of crew. The tranquility of the sea and wind. Time passed. With Jikan standing in the middle of the ship on guard. The crew's Captain at the helm of it all, steering the wheel of the ship and guiding her crew with her words. The first mate, with a slick tongue and sharp eye, scanned the horizon as he looked from the edge of the ship. Working in tandem with crew mates at high heights looking out for their aim. Nothing but chance awaiting them.


It would not take much longer before a change would occur in their world. Mia's sharp cat ears flickered as the shifting of water in the distance stirred her senses. The fur on her legs softly standing. "Ji...".

"AIY AIY. TARGET AT 12 O' CLOCK", would be boomed from above. In that instant without delay, the captain would start yelling at her crew members. The first mate turning to his brothers and sisters with a grin on his lips. "Look alive boys and girls!!!", he said as be began to move not needing to hear his Captain's orders.

Jikan

The instructions given at a break neck pace, but it seemed that the first mate was already done with each specific task given to him before he could even get told! The rest of the crew were quick to act upon them though, not falling that far behind. Soon the water stirring grew, coming from a soft movement to a large slushing and thrashing.

"Here it comes!", a crewmate said as the group heard and saw the subtle life in the water. The body grew in the water. Slicing across the surface of the water as its body remained hidden in the shadows of water. Closer...and closer...and closer then...nothing. The movement and momentum coming to a complete stop suddenly before it reached the ship.

"Where did it go?", someone called out in wonder. Stepping over the edge as the beast confused them.

"It is under the ship!", Jikan said suddenly before a roar was heard. The only thing the crew had to do was look as she yelled out again. "Hang on to something!!".

The roar shook them. No! It was the feeling of their shipping being launched into the air. The beast's body traveling under them as it bashed into the ship like a whale bursting out of the surface. Man and woman screamed at the sudden motion, many quickly lunging towards any pieces of the ship they could get a hold of. Rope, beams, rails. Anything nailed down to the surface that could protect them. The option to dive into the cabins, holes, or inner parts of the ship was within their options and focus as well!

Jikan shifted, hugging Mia close with one arm while gripping onto the floor. Lowering her stance as she felt the gravity want to throw her off of the ship. Bodies, a few unlock ones, lifted into the air in a yelp. With a calm focus Jikan shifted and gave a short, arcane magical chains extending out from her back. The tethering magic reaching out and wrapping around the bodies of several people and anchoring itself and thus Jikan, to the ship's floor as well.

With a huff Jikan used her strength to keep herself grounded and steady. The mana within her body flowing out in a steady flow to empower the arcane chains that sprung out from her body. With a smile on her face a subtle level of glee began to form within Jikan's body. The boat landing down in a harsh SPLASH into the water several meters away from where they had been thrown up into the air. With a grunt Jikan moved, powering the aracan chains to pull any straggers that were somewhat airborn to the ships surface before letting the magical chains unwrap from around them and disperate.

"Guess I am up! If you have means to fight, do so. If not. Stay out of my way, you will only get hurt", Jikan said with a fierce smile as she spun around. Responding to the sea beast jumping out from the water once again. Its body still hidden within the mass of water moving but that was of no concern to Jikan who lunged into the air to meet the creature. Her fist landing in a hold around her gauntlet fist as she rolled her shoulders and pulled back. Clocking her first outward in a strike that landed in a soft spot with a CRUNCH.

With the force of impact coming from her, the rollback vibrated of the attack returned and came to her skin. In that moment of contact Jikan felt something give in slightly. A push back as she leveraged her fist in before bouncing off of the hidden mass to flip back onto the ship. Her feet lightly touching down of the wooden surface. The mass of the creature flung back, spiraling back into the water with a splash that shook the very ocean and the ship. Water washed down on them from above like rain, soaking Jikan's hair and clinging it to her face.

The water hit the floors causing the surface to become sleek and slippery. As the downpour ended it would not be long before the battle continued. Something came from the other edge of the ship, a needle wide like mass that swiped wildly. It was no way near Jikan as she took a few light steps to dance to the side. Distancing herself before she noticed what it was, a dual spliced tail! It's second edge splicing a chunk of the ship in twain.

Before the beast could wind up its tail for another attempted blow using its tail, the fishing crew went into action. Lining up as a few grabbed harpoons and crossbows. "FIRE", commanded their Captain as she pointed and shot two crossbows. An array of projectiles shooting out in a barrage. The steel, wood, and bronze arrows thunked off and into the sea beast's tail. A number of the lesser quality arrows splashed into the water as the bounced off of its target. Splintered and broken apart. Others wedged themselves into their foes body. With a quick look it seemed that the steel arrows landed the most within the sea beast. The bronze arrows somewhat entering in the body, but casual poking out at some points. The sea beast snarled as its wide toothy face surfaced from the water on the other edge. Its tail and face cornering the ship and her members.

With a quick assessment of the eye, Jikan noticed that none of the wooden arrows were landing true. "Use the steel arrows! They are dealing the most damage to it".

With a roar the sea beast slid, attacking the ship using its gigantic titanic long and huge body. Pieces of its body wrapping around the ship in a bice grip as it threatened to squeeze. Anger and a sense of a hungry anticipation as it eyed its prey.

"How much longer till the cannons are ready?", the first mate asked a number of crew as they rushed up to the surface of the ship. "A few seconds at most. Getting lined up and loaded now. We have one ready though". Hearing this the Captain towards her first mate and those crew members. "Get that first cannon fired. We can't let that beast do as it pleases. When ready, fire those other ones!".

As Jikan listened she enjoyed hearing that these people would not just stand to the wayside waiting for someone to act. An act would be what they would receive though. The dark mage would keep a smile on her face as she moved once again. Bursting in a run across the deck before quickly using her magic to enchant her feet. Causing a small area of gravity shift at the balls of her feet to allow her to glide and attach to surfaces as she used it to travel up the mast. Reaching a suitable height before jumping off of the pole. Drawing her sword as she did so as she lunged onto the beast's face. Stabbing it in the eye without a moment of hesitation.

Her blade seeped into the creature, the well crafted steel slicing through the flesh of the sea beast eye like butter. A vicious painful cry was let loose as it roared. Trying to shake off Jikan to no avail. The Amazon, keeping a firm hand in her blade, clamped her feet against the sea beast's face. Her right hand, bolstered by her weaponized gauntlet,  pointed out into a dragon claw form as she strikes! Logging her hand into the roaring shrieking beast's cheek. Clawing through to the bone underneath before gripping it like an anchor. Keeping her body in place to the beasts and everyone's terror. Understandable. As Jikan's form of combat could at times be…brutal.

Brutal but effective all the same. And as Jikan held her blade within her foe and readied to end it. She then heard an earth shattering shriek from the beast that stunned her. Shaking her and making her close her eyes as she endured the pain. During the shriek the beast have one final effort to give Jikan off. Thrashing its face towards the ship, knocking Jikan off causing her body to slide against the wet floor.

Finishing her movement against the floor. Jikan's back crashed against a few crates that sat on the boat. Her body being on top of random goods and equipment. With a huff she shrugged it off, lifting her body up from the debris standing to her feet. "Such a loud final gasp. Ugh", Jikan said plainly as she gazed up at the creature. A heavy growl came as it…just stood there. Its grip on the ship not growing tighter or weaker.

The wrath and focus was clear to Jikan. The pain she had caused made HER the center of its world. Any other prey, the ship. It had no glimpse in its tunnel vision. It was good, it gave the crew time to move and plan. Running yo gather their melee weapons; swords, spears, and axes. The arrow of crossbows reloaded, focused with primary steel arrows and a handful of bronze. Words were shouted and things turned when…BOOOOOOM!

The cannon ordered by the captain was fired, blasting off a chunk of the sea beast's body.

Blood and flesh flew into the air. The hold that was once lax yet firm on the ship found itself loosening. But even with that critical blow to its body, the sea monster was not done with them yet. It was not done with Jikan. The anger it had felt before was now only intensified. The hunger and bloodlust to consume her oozing out in what felt like a red mist. It let go, diving under the water once again. Giving the ship a thrashing from the water by using its tail as it descended. Quickly some of the crew moved, running to the edges of the ship with their crossbows drawn and loaded. Trying to peek out and be prepared for where the creature would come from next. The front? Back? Sides? or would it come from under then again?

"OVER THERE", a crewmate called out from their high position. Pointing out to a mass of water that was coming towards them. A body slowly coming out as it made its way...a different one than the one they had been previously facing!

As soon as it was spotted it was there, hitting the edge of the ship from the bottom and rocking the whole body. Flipping crew anywhere and everywhere. The rough wave even causing the ship to nearly tip over from the use of force and water. Only luck keeping everyone from capsizing. A few unlucky numbers found themselves flipping over into the water. Shouts of panic as they fell and quickly came to the surface.

Soon they were being picked off one by one as the people on the ship were trying to gather themselves and balance everything. Only the sound of shouts, crossbows being fired, and dying voices repeating in a cycle as the water thrashed and crashed from all around. The two sea monsters working in a terrible perfect synergy in their attack and motion.

With a focus Jikan kept her eyes on the water, waiting for the chance for the beasts to come. It was too late for the others, and they might as well be used as bait while they gave those monsters some effort and work in consuming them. As weak as those were, those arrows added up, and with each shot that landed from the dying fishermen and fisherwoman, the sooner this job would be done and the survival of the others ensured.

Jikan waited, carefully and calmly for her chance to come. As one of the few serene people in this type of situation she knew it had to be her. She had the power and the state of mind to do so. Other crew members could have the resolve, focus, and chance to do so. But for all she knew none of them had magic or any powerful weapons. No tools suitable to end this all in one strike.

And soon it was time! The two sea beast came out from the water. Side by side intertwined in a body twist of power and bond perhaps? It was a wonder why this second beast came after all. These huge animals were very territorial after all, and Jikan doubted that such creatures would share a hunting trip if not under desperate measures.

The two let out a dual attack, using their tails as a two way combo strike that threatened to destroy the ship fully if it landed. Knowing this Jikan jumped into the air, letting out a fierce roar as she crossed her arms over her head, slamming it into the two massive tails. The bodies halting in the air for a second before they shook. Jikan's body flying forward as she managed to push those tails away from the ship.

Continuing forward Jikan would flip into the air. Choosing to at that moment to let the mana within her body to overflow. An outpour of magic as she used the connection she had with her sword to activate its hidden magic without it being within her physical possession. Letting the blade and hilt of her weapon vanish as it broke down into a swarm of sharp glimmering pink flower petals from within its placement in the beast's eyeball. BLASTING out from its position as she drilled through the monster's skull. Leaving a gaping 4 meter hole within the beast's skull.

After throwing out her attack and seeing one of the beast's body fall into the wall with a shaking splash, motionless. She continued her run up on the body of the other still beast. A layer of shock appearing to come over it. Jikan was not sure while but she was surely going to take advantage of it so she could end this. Extending her left hand out as she ran, her magic flared once again as a gray 4 meter magic circle formed behind the arm. A red grey black blade shot out of her hand 2 x 2 meters in size. Aiming squarely for the beast's chest area before slashing cleanly through, a shocked and final roar coming before it fell into the water over the other beast.

Finishing her run Jikan stopped, letting one foot plant itself down as she reached her hand out. The pink glimmering petals timbering around her in a majestic flow to come to a stop. A single petals first landing in her hand than another and another. Soon she gripped it like she was gripping the hilt of a blade. The blade of Senbonzakura back within her grasp. All before flicking the blade and letting it slide back into its holster.

Seeing this there was a roar. An excitement of pride and joy at their victory. The sacrifices of their crew for no lose and the resources to soon be provide for their home.

"Good job me-", the Captain said before being interrupted by a whistling fire. A blast landing into the broadside of the ship that shook the ship and killing a few men immediately. Suddenly a fire was breaking out and voices yelling to point out the source.

A shipping crew came from out of a nearby number of rocks. Hidden up until this point. A flag up, black as it made its approach. The full mass of the ship shown, troops out with their weapons pointed, cannons drawn and aimed. Swords drawn. Their faces held no good intentions, heavy grins as a voice called out to them. Thanking them for making the work easy for them, all they had to do was watch. Now, they just had to kill them and take their ship. A new ship and two large sea beasts, what a deal of the day.

Safe to say...Jikan was not in the mood for this at all. And as soon as their Captain finished speaking she took a deep breath from where she stood on the beasts body. Her bosom expanding and shaking as her magic flowed. A wide grey beam leaving her mouth that hit the ship head on, swallowing it and vaporizing everyone.

They just were unlucky that they chose this ship this day.

"Alright then, let's get back to the island...".
