WORDS: 250 | Maid My Day


“Ah yes, our chateau is a particular favourite with our regulars…” A voice that was as crisp and soft as snow confirming the choice of the couple before her of their desired drink, Mia Monet smiled and nodded along with the words she spoke as she stood there wearing something a little bit lacking for convention in most scenarios, but was not out of place for this setting. Dressed in a mix of a white and black which only seemed to work to perfection with the lightness of her complexion, the flaxen femme found herself with cuffs and a silk bow none too far beneath her chin as she acted as a waitress at one of the more upscale seafront restaurants, and had already seemed to draw more than a few rosy cheeks and lingering gazes for that very fact.

“And for your starter?” Seeming to be enjoying the innocent little task as well and that only seeming to make her day go by that bit faster, the snowy siren as she jots down their wine and looks to them eagerly for their next order, and frankly found herself happy to have found something to do with herself even on the days when the guild board was empty. Raised with a noticeable focus on her work ethic and for that reason loving the chance to earn herself a little pocket money even if she did not have a sword or spell book in hand, it was nice for her to know that what she did today might afford her something pretty to buy tomorrow as well as the chance to let people leave the building today smiling as well, and that made even the convenience of a relatively low paying part time jo seem all the more worthwhile. That is, if the day could afford her the chance to complete it, however…

"Hands up, the lotta ya!"

What was thus far a mostly pleasant day seeming to be ruined as a lout and the heaviness of his heel seemed to mean the door damn was nearly kicked off the hinges only a matter of moments later, Miss Monet barely had the chance to serve up even half a glass of the crisp contents of a bottle in her hand before she found her act stalled by such an explosive deed, and was left to watch as the room was invaded by a boisterous and badly dressed body who carried a blades in one hand and the means to dispense bullets in the other.
A Pirate? Stalling in her deed because of this and left to flap those long and dark lashes as she did so, while the white wonder seemed reluctant to follow the demand of the man who seemed to lead this little crew she was at least stunned enough by the audacity they showed to allow them a moment to announce some of their intent, but not much more than that.

"Now don't you give us any funny business…!
We ain't takin' no-!"

Pausing only for enough time for what looked like a shoddily dressed sailor to scan the crowd and start sizing up the prizes he could pluck away from them before she sprang into action, the coquette was cool and composed as she lay the expensive bottle of wine onto the table before her, and ever more so as she lunged from her position with all the speed and grace of a doe as well.
Far too slow on the draw…! practically a blur and certainly seeming to exploit that fact as she flung herself forward and thrusted her heel as far as it would go, the snowy siren couldn't help but feel a sense of sickening satisfaction from the crunching sound she made as her foot burst through the jaw of their would-be robber with the same and more force as which he had entered the room, but all too soon she would know this turn in her fortune was only just beginning, wouldn't she? After all, plenty more fun lay beyond the window…
