Yuurei

There was one person that Yuurei had never fought before and he had his friend. That person was Kaito; He had never thought about it before, but his friend was one of the strongest people in Fiore that he knew of. Brone was a scary person to fight against with the man’s shield, and the durability of his weapons meant that Yuurei had to find other ways to fight him. Still, he had never fought against Kaito before, so he had to be prepared for anything. While he wanted to spar with Kaito, his arm would continuously whisper things into his ear as he wanted him to fight someone around his level.

The Nephilim didn’t understand the meaning behind that, but he figured that Kaito could possibly be the answer to that. He just wanted his arm to become silent and hopefully have it evolved into something greater. It was something that had been bothering him for quite some time. He invited Kaito to come to the dome that belonged to the guild. It wasn’t empty as it was filled with much different equipment throughout the dome.

Renji was on the side as he was going to be spectating their fight and see how things would progress between the two of them. He also wondered if he would see Revy here as well.

Yuurei had his equipment on him as he didn’t have Renji use his bag to put it on him. Instead, his helmet was on his head, his armor under his outerwear her was wearing. His gauntlets were on his hands, and everything else would be normal. His school bag would be hidden beneath the cape that was on Yuurei’s back. He would be stretching waiting for his friend to make an appearance.

Kaito

Kaito walks down the halls of the Paradise Dawn guild looking for where the training dome was again he has his gear on thinking that is what Yuurei wants Kaito already knows he is gonna lose and he doubts he will even get a fight off on Yuurei as it is an ant vs a giant there is no chance that he will be able to take him on but he will do his best not to make it too boring as he is not really sure how he would even measure up.

Feeling he will fall short of the goal probably he starts getting plans running around in his head in case he needs to use them and as he walks the guild members feel the aura he gives off and they shutter feeling themselves being weakened as he walks around in the guild halls and he keeps walking around till he finds the way to the training dome and he walks in that way and then into the training dome as he had been here before but last time he had been guided to the place by someone but this time he had been too head strong to ask which way and he just wandered the halls till he had found the way to the training dome and he walks inside with Revy following him in then walking into the seats to go and find one to sit and watch as this should at least be a little bit of a show for them to watch even though she is sure that Kaito is going to get stomped by Yuurei whose scores are off the rails from the rumors on the streets.

Yuurei

Yuurei would smile as he was happy to see Kaito enter the dome. This was something he wanted to do for a long time, and he was glad that it was happening now. He would wave to the two of them as he would see Revy would take a seat and he would see Kaito moving through the dome. The Nephilim would make his way to them but would make a stop when he came about thirty meters from Kaito. He knew that his friend thought lowly of him, but he knew that his friend had great potential

“I’m glad that you were able to make it Kaito. I think with you, I will be able to expand my abilities more than I could with Brone.” He said with a smile as he stretched a bit.

When he was ready, he would get into a fighting position and his face would become serious under the mask. He would have his wings come out of his back as he was getting ready. Still, one thing he noticed when he used his half-transformation was this, he didn’t feel like he got any stronger. It would seem like his friend had something that messed with his potential power.

He wasn’t going to use anything else but this right now because he figured that he would test out his friend’s ability. The Nephilim would start moving as he figured that he would make the first move. His legs moved and soon enough his wings flapped into the air as his feet were no longer on the ground and he was moving fast. He would make his way to Kaito about two meters away from him and he would swing his right arm. His arm would stretch those two meters as he would aim for the man’s chest with everything he got.

Kaito

Kaito is a bit taken aback by the man saying that he thought that he could help him take it to the next level but Kaito really doubted that. "Pretty sure that Brone is more the one to use to up your game as I am a defensive support mage." He knows that this was not going to stop his friend as he was clearly excited to finally get to fight him after they had had a non-fighting relationship for such a long time. Kaito has his left hand up in case he needs it as Kaito had seen Yuurei fight, he knows even one hit could be fatal to himself.

When the man had come flying toward him, Kaito reacted by waving his sword hand across his own body and Kaito disappeared into a swirl as the fist shot forward at him and then reappeared soon after around thirty three meters behind Yuurei coming from another swirl looking like he had shifted and Kaito looks at Yuurei's back and he rubs the back of his own head because that was a close one as that was coming fast for him there. Kaito Knows that he is going to have to fight Yuurei and at least try to land one hit but he has to pick the right time or else he is going to get pretty broken up from getting directly getting hit. Kaito gets into his fighting stance as this was going to have to do what he can while avoid taking any sizable blows from Yuurei. Kaito is staying on the balls of his feet so he can move, dodge or make momentum to try to make his own counter attack if Yuurei under estimates him and leaves an opening for him to capitalize on rather it be with his sword or a spell to at least get one hit in would probably be the best that he could even do at the moment.

Yuurei

Yuurei would see that Kaito had dodged his attack. It was an interesting ability, one that never got old to Yuurei. He would snap his arm back into place immediately after he saw his friend teleporting to dodge his attack. He wasn’t sure where he would appear, but he figured it would be around the parameters of his necklace. Still, that wasn’t the case as he would start appearing behind him about thirty meters away from him. The berserker would turn around though, not because he was guessing where Kaito was, but because his cape had tapped both of Yuurei’s shoulders, which informed him that the enemy, in this case, his friend was behind him.

The Nephilim’s turnaround didn’t stop there. He was flying to him as this was a battle. They could converse, but he figured when they were exchanging blows. Yuurei understood that Kaito was not a combative person, but being able to do what he did was amazing. He wouldn’t go all out with his transformation just yet as he was wondering what his friend would do next. Yuurei figured he would teleport again, so instead of getting close he would repeat the same process as what happened last time.

When he was two meters away from Kaito he would launch his arm forward. It would stretch at spell speed moving straight at Kaito and closing the remaining two meters between them. Yuurei aimed for the man’s chest once again. His eyes were determined to see what his friend would do next.

Renji was watching this as he wished he had popcorn. This was a good show to watch, and he knew it was only going to get better.

Kaito

Kaito seeing how fast the cape had told on him, he knows this is going to be a bit harder to get many moments respite from this going forward upon seeing Yuurei turn toward him. Kaito has seen Yuurei move super fast up until this point so he figures he should try to slow him down if only momentarily and as the man flew toward him Kaito snapped his fingers aimed just ahead of himself so he didn't get caught up in his own spell and he jumps back about three meters with his sword raised and the blade glowing. then if Yuurei had been caught in the binding spell he would feel as if he was being pressed between something like two walls with a very heavy mass, Kaito will bring his sword down in a slashing motion releasing a 4 Meter Diameter slash of dimensional energy to fly forward toward Yuurei. Kaito knows that he is going to have to plan further ahead cause Yuurei is battle hardened so him fighting Kaito was probably just like playing with a child compared to the others that the man had probably fought till now. Kaito is surprised by how well the training dome was lit, it felt like they were more fighting outside in a field rather than they were fighting inside of dome besides the lack of wind.

Kaito tries to stay on the balls of his feet so if any of these failed or was just straight up countered that he can attempt to dodge and hope for the best cause his magic does do one thing very well and that is making space between him self or avoiding getting hit if it really comes down to it but he was not going to waste his ace here but he might waste his second ace if it came down to it, but for now he needs to focus on the here and now and the close future of this fight so he doesn't just go down like a child without doing any damage.

Revy was kind of surprised that Kaito hadn't already gotten knocked out by Yuurei yet, maybe Yuurei was holding back against Kaito in this fight or maybe Kaito was better than he looked.

Yuurei

Yuurei had watched Kaito snap his finger when he was attacking, and he thought he had him, but something had wrapped around him, which brought his arm to snap back and for him to use excessive force when he felt that it was tightening on him. He would use his strength to break through it and he would without a problem. It was interesting as he had sensed the danger, but he was in the middle of something and thought he would be able to hit his friend at the same time it had happened.

Still, the danger wasn’t over yet as he felt the tingling sensation on the back of his neck. Yuurei had always kept his eyes on Kaito and he would see him swing his sword in his direction. It would have been weird to just see his friend do that as there wouldn’t be a magic circle appearing or anything, but the sense of danger he got from his necklace was what he needed to move. When he saw the slash coming Yuurei flew up into the air at an angle to stay close to Kaito as well.

The danger that was known to him due to his necklace was something he didn’t think would continuously save his behind in battle. It was different than anything before, but now he wanted to keep on as he needed to test out this arm on someone like Kaito. Brone was a weird case, and that man was constantly becoming more durable with every meet-up they had. It was interesting and knowing this, brought Yuurei to know that his guild would be safe with the few numbers that they had.

The Nephilim was focused this entire time as he was still within the two-meter range from Kaito. His friend didn’t move to dodge his attack but used what was called a binding spell to stop him from advancing.

Yuurei would swing his right arm from above and at a different angle from before and it would stretch at full speed at Kaito. He was aiming at his head this time as it was the closest part of his body to him. Renji was impressed, but at the same time, he knew that Kaito had a bunch of spells and moves that allowed him to maneuver the way he did.

Kaito

Kaito wasn't surprised that his friend was able to dodge that nearly seamlessly as if he had been warned by some outside force. Kaito wondered what it was that gave that man that power but he wondered how pin point it was, Kaito was trailing Yuurei with a pointed finger getting ready for the punch that was going to be coming for him as he casted from his finger to try and time it to the punch that would be launched at him, the punch from Yuurei just went through Kaito hitting nothing solid as if he wasn't even there at all as if he was just a ghost or an illusion. The beam that fired from his finger was angled from his finger in a way to go right up at Yuurei that was above him Kaito was hoping to at least hit the mans right side gauntlet or at least get his arm with it but Kaito didn't wait to see if he had hit anything with the beam as he lunges backwards to his max range of around seventeen meters.

This fight has been more fun for Kaito than he thought that it could be as he seems to be able to do more than he thought he could to avoid the damage from the heavy attacking power packed friend that he was facing an an opponent here, he doubted that he will really impress Yuurei with this as this seems more like coward tactics not really befitting of a man of his high rank cause he can't really match or go against Yuurei blow for blow like someone like Brone could do and probably match with Yuurei's idea of power. He keeps on the balls of his feet so that he isn't caught flat footed, he knows that he has a slim chance to win and it would take Yuurei to make a major mistake for him to even have the smallest chance to win this, but Kaito still had a few more tricks up his sleeve to use if it came down to it but he had to keep those as a last second thing as last ditch as it could be.

Revy had grabbed Renji's hand as the punch from Yuurei had looked like it had connected.

Yuurei


Yuurei was observing Kaito as he was swinging his right arm. It would seem like he had planned on doing something. He was fine with this and soon enough he would see it; Kaito had shot a beam at him when he swung. Yes, Yuurei couldn’t have dodged the attack, but he chose not to. What was more exciting is that when he thought he had hit Kaito, his arm would go right through his friend. He chuckled as he could tell it was a phasing ability. He knew that his friend had a lot up his sleeve, and honestly, he didn’t mind it at all. This was a different type of fighting, and it was one that he was enjoying. It was different to him, and using magic was a weapon itself.

The Nephilim didn’t exactly snap his arm back, but he decreased the size by a meter, and then stretched it right back at Kaito waiting for him to materialize back to this dimension. The beam had damaged his gauntlet, but it didn’t just do that it had harmed Yuurei. He would wince from the pain, and he would chuckle when he felt that pain. This was more like it and honestly, he knew that he was going to have to switch his gauntlets up.

He could have blocked it if his Midas Gauntlet was on his right arm, but that wasn’t the case. Still, his attack on Kaito would be pretty hard to dodge this time around.

Renji would continue watching the fight from afar. He had a smirk on his face as Yuurei had been hit first, which wasn’t surprising, but was going to happen now? He would feel someone grab his hand and he would see it was Revy. He would return the favor as he would hold her hand.

“I can see why they would be annoying to fight them at the same time.” He said to Revy.

Kaito

Kaito as he had lunged backwards had felt the air that had come off of the punch that Yuurei had thrown as he was lunging back which means that he had gotten lucky to not have stayed there after he had thrown the beam from his finger but Kaito knows that he can't keep this up forever as Yuurei was probably going to make mincemeat out of him after he had made the first hit against Yuurei. Kaito starts running to gain some momentum and no longer just be a sitting duck and he points another finger toward Yuurei as Kaito was going for another spell against Yuurei this time in the form of an AoE from above Yuurei. Kaito is trying to make the most of his invisible magic circles but doesn't think that Yuurei is going to take the blast of the AoE but he knew that he had to try and not hesitate even if he is his friend as this is as much of a test as it was a spar. Kaito is looking to prove himself here as well before Yuurei catches him and gets a clean knock out.

A mighty Roar rings out from the sky and a blast of dimensional energy bursts forth from the sky above where Yuurei had been heading for the ground in a 8 Meter Diameter AoE.

Revy looked at Renji and she smiled. "Yes they would probably accidently destroy a whole region."

Yuurei


Yuurei would miss another attack of his. He was disappointed with himself, but couldn’t his arm stretch out longer than this? He wasn’t sure, but he felt like he could evolve in this fight. Still, with the miss, Yuurei would snap his arm right back to its original size. The Nephilim would see that Kaito was moving, and he would do the same thing. He was moving alongside his friend as he would gain maximum speed before he could. He wasn’t sure what Kaito was going to do right now, but he knew that he was going to have to stick with him and see what he could do.

While chasing after his friend he could see that he was pointing another finger at him. It would seem like he was going to use another spell to attack him. He wondered what kind of move would come from him next. Still, he was not going to stand there and get hit. It was then that he would sense the danger coming from above him.

He would move out of the way of the attack that Kaito had thrown from above him. That was a scary attack, but he noticed that the wounds on his arms weren’t that bad.

When he got out of the parameter of Kaito’s attack, he would make sure that he was ahead of Kaito and above him as he would stretch his arm toward Kaito, aiming at Kaito's head again closing the two meters of distance that he had kept between him and Kaito. He would keep moving, so his opponent couldn’t gain distance between them at any moment.

Kaito knew that he was going to have to take on a lot here and he figures as he sees Yuurei is aiming to get ahead of him and throw his punch this time that Kaito might need to be a bit more trickier with how he fights this man and he moves his head and him self to the side to dodge the mans new punch while he waved his hand over himself as he had done before when he had teleported away but instead this time he was only disappearing from sight like he had moved off of the plane of this dimension and he calms himself while staying absolutely still and hiding his breath and killing off his violent aura so there wouldn't be a sense of danger as he had observed how the man had reacted to his attacks up until now  it seemed that danger or some kind of threat warning seemed to tip him off before an attack could hit him.

Kaito will just stop and watch for now and wait for his moment to strike but for now that meant not moving or showing any slight bit of violent intent, this is more to see if what ever was giving Yuurei a heads up could still tip him off to a hidden threat that was unmoving and showing no signs of intent or if this was just some sort of omnipotent power that can just pick him out of the blue even if he showed no sign nor gave off any sign of a violent intent toward him. He was unsure what he would have to aim for to try and stop that effect but it was better to learn it's limits then it is to waste time and mana fruitlessly attacking the man that could seemingly feel it coming from a decent distance away from himself. Kaito was enjoying himself a bit but it was more learning his limits and where he needs to improve going forward.

Yuurei

Yuurei would try to hit his friend with his arm, but it would seem like it wouldn’t work. He would snap his arm back as it would seem like the two of them had been playing a game of cat and mouse. Still, if Yuurei was the cat, then he had lost the first round as he had been hurt by Kaito. While he was moving to get ready to attack Kaito, he would see that his friend had disappeared from the area. This was interesting as Yuurei figured that it might be the use of his dimensional portal again. He didn’t see him reappearing anywhere, which meant that he might have been in a different place.

His cape didn’t give him any warning as he flapped his wings, wondering what Kaito was going to do next. He looked around as he remembered where his friend was at last.  

Still, while flying around he would open the palm of his hands and two golden magic circles would appear. Stars would come out of them and would enter him without hesitation. Yuurei would feel the surge throughout his body and the power dwelling within him. He had tried his arm out, but this time he was going to make sure that he would go all out on his friend. He was thinking about going complete transformation Nephilim, but that wouldn’t be the smart thing to do against Kaito.

He would act clueless, but only because his friend didn’t make any movements, but he would still do one thing. The place where Kaito was located last, Yuurei would swing his fist at that area. The Nephilim would stretch his arm in that direction. He knew what he was doing, but the moment Kaito was somewhere else and moved to attack Yuurei he would change course to with the arm being elongated in the change of direction.

Kaito

Kaito is unsure if the man is messing with him or if he seriously had lost track of him for that moment and Kaito starts thinking of how he should go about this fight from here as he knows he is clearly out matches by Yuurei but as he has very limited options here as he guesses that he can't move in case he would be sensed by the man, he thinks it is best to be ready for anything cause his opponent is master of his weapon and he guesses that the tool he was sensing with couldn't accurately pin point him here but he can't really afford to push his luck and think he is fully safe.

He knows Yuurei probably isn't really worried about him as this is a fight that will probably end in his favor Kaito watches the man as he saw the man do something that he was guessing was buffs to himself then the Kaito say the man was a bit faster than before and he sees the man turn back toward him and he knows what that probably meant and Kaito starts his sword swing while he transformed growing scales and in size as well as gaining a glow around himself that is still hidden from him being invisible his  aim is to meet the punch with his blade that he can already tell is probably coming for him again, If the blade clashes with the mans gauntlet it would change to a nature element to win in a elemental face off of the two items and Kaito is exposed if they clashed with the others weapon.

Kaito even though he had met blade to gauntlet felt like his attack hadn't been as impactful as he thought it should have been vs the other mans gauntlet. Kaito waves his hand over himself and teleports himself again to a safer distance of around forty meters before a second punch could come flying his way as he can tell his sword could probably not take another hit like that from Yuurei and he knows if he gets caught flat footed this was going to end badly for him he releases his transformations as he knows he can't stay in that form vs Yuurei so he can save his mana returning to the balls of his feet.

Revy is pretty much on the edge of her seat as she watched the clash beside Renji, she is surprised that Kaito deiced to clash there as he should have just moved and got out of range.

Yuurei

Yuurei had a smirk on his face; it would seem like his friend was here the entire time. He was invisible it seemed, which meant that he was just standing still and not moving. It was fine, and he would swing his fist. Still, he could sense the danger again, one that he felt would do real damage to him. His Instinctual Precognition would activate, and he would see what would have happened if he had continued to swing his fist. It wouldn’t take long, but right before Kaito’s blade would hit Yuurei’s gauntlet, the young man would snap his arm back at spell speed. It would cause the man to miss as they both would have done just that missed each other.

The Nephilim wasn’t done though as could see that his friend was moving away from the area, they were in. This was great and perfect at the same time. While he had snapped his arm back to avoid the clash of weapons, Yuurei had started moving around to gain momentum in his flying. He would appear in the direction of where his friend was appearing, due to the air vibration around him. Once he was within range he would swing his right arm with everything he had when he was within two meters of Kaito.

While this was happening, he would use his cursed bind and the cloth would start extending and trying to wrap itself around Kaito at the same time. He was trying to make sure that his friend couldn’t escape him this time and he was hoping to see him finally land a blow on the ever-evasive Kaito. He also figured that his friend could break free from the binding, but it would waste time doing so. He was aiming for his chest with everything he had ready to knock him out if his hit landed.

Renji would feel his hand being tightly grabbed by Revy he would smile at her as it would seem like she wasn’t used to Kaito fighting like this. He was used to this and he figured that Yuurei was trying to get Kaito to reveal his location.

It really seemed like Yuurei had an answer to everything that he can do and now was hot on Kaito's heels, Kaito has to do something and fast he aims his hand at the incoming spell that was meant to bind him while he lunges toward Yuurei, causing it to disappear into a warp field.

Kaito has his blade ready as he swings it toward Yuurei as he was going in on the man as Kaito knows that he can't keep running and he had hoped beyond hope that his last attack had connected but something else seemed to have tipped Yuurei off to the amount of damage that he was about to take and unlike the normal Yuurei he knew that wouldn't back down pulled back from the clash. Kaito aimed to try to clash with that gauntlet again even though he is currently not able to use that power again for a bit longer he has to do something and not just keep running as Yuurei was not going to let him win this fight by fleeing and dodging, He was going to have to go in hard and fast and strike the man while he has the chance right now as Yuurei probably hadn't expected him to warp the spell and lunge in on him ready to strike at him.

Revy was unsure what was about to happen.

Yuurei

Yuurei was sweet, and Kaito used another one of his spells. This was beautiful and he could only smile when he saw the man use something to get rid of his bindings. He could see the bandages being ripped apart, but it was as if it was for nothing. He could see them repairing themselves as they would make their way back to his arm. He left his arm where it was, as he had seen what Kaito was doing. This was good and he planned on ending it soon. He could see that his friend was getting ready to swing at him with everything he could.

This would bring Yuurei to do two things. He was going to counterattack the sword coming to him, and at the same time, something else would be at play. Starting with the left hand, Yuurei would swing to clash with Kaito’s sword. His gauntlet meeting against the weapon Kaito always wielded. It would clash as Yuurei could see the sword changing in a particular way. He would see the damage that he had done to his friend’s sword as it seemed like one more tap would do it.

It would land on his friend’s back unless his friend had somehow dodged the attack, which was happening at the same time the two were attacking with their weapons.

Renji would see this as he couldn’t believe that they had gone near each other. It was about time, and he couldn’t wait to see what happened next. He could see that Revy was worried, but he would smile at her.

“If anything happens, the guild has some really good darn medics mages. We had to upgrade after the giants had attacked us.” He said to Revy with a smile on his face.

Kaito was surprised that he had made contact with the mans other gauntlet and got so close to Yuurei. Kaito looked at Yuurei as he had clashed with him and saw that Yuurei looked confident in this seeming like this was the closest that he was going to be able to get to winning as Kaito knows that he might of dodged it to get up here but that other fist was probably still going to get him here Kaito's sword barely survived the clash from the gauntlet. Kaito had let go of his sword just after the clash so he was no longer in contact with the gauntlet after the clash and Yuurei's own punch phased through Kaito and into himself, It was Kaito's last trick as he knows that he can't make the space needed to beat out Yuurei from here and that other gauntlet was probably about to meet him as well as Kaito is unarmed and knows that gauntlet cancels spells and so Kaito moved a half meter to the side so that when Yuurei was to swing the spell canceling gauntlet and make contact he wouldn't become physical with Yuurei's arm still through his chest.

Yuurei

Yuurei was sure he had won this; Kaito was attacking, and he had done two things once, but it would seem like things weren’t going to end right now. He wanted to scratch the back of his head as he was trying to figure out how he would hit Kaito; the man ran too much, and he understood why he would and could. Still, he would see the sword fall to the ground, and his arm was coming right at himself. Of course, the impending danger he would feel, and his own eyes would let him see that his attack had gone through Kaito.

It would bring Yuurei to just naturally move his arm to be how it was instead of hitting him. He would stomp forward as it would seem like would try to move away from him. He would make sure to keep their distance close and at the same time, the foot he had stomped on the ground would crush his sword. He would swing his left arm straight at Kaito as he was canceling his spell to land the hit necessary to take him out.

His right arm would come after as he would stretch it in the direction of Kaito if, he would try to dodge his left arm’s attack.

Kaito

Kaito had failed to do it, he couldn't get the big strike vs Yuurei to make a big impression, he had failed and the man had stopped himself from hitting himself. Kaito knows that this is the end but he still puts his shield up in a sad attempt to stop the first punch by swinging his shield into it like a punch to match the man with. Of course this doesn't stop Yuurei's punch as a shield is armor which his glove let him hit through, so it was fist to gauntlet there, Kaito felt the power behind the punch then he felt the second punch hit him and Kaito goes flying backwards from the force of the second punch as Kaito was cleanly knocked out from that second hit cause the first had majorly softened him up for the second to finish it off for this fight at least.

Yuurei

Yuurei would land his hits on Kaito, and he would see him fall back from the hits. He would see this, and he would see that his friend was on the ground. He didn’t feel any kind of aura from him, and he wasn’t sure if his friend was playing it off. Still, when he got to him, he would see that he was truly unconscious. He would smile at him not because he won, but because he was actually an annoying person to fight against. He would pick Kaito up from the floor and he would put the young man on his shoulder. It wasn’t just that, but he would pick up the sword he had messed up.

He would look over to Renji and Revy with a smile on his face.

“You guys can follow me. I’m going to put him in the med bay and then get his sword repaired, so he has everything he needs when he regains consciousness.” He said to them.

Renji would see the victor and he would get up from where he was sitting. He would look over to Revy and he would walk with her and follow behind Yuurei.
