Astrid
The carriage had arrived early in the evening.

A late night departure under the guise of the moonlight, an almost tranquil sendoff for what had been an undeniably trying period for her.

Vyra sat there, the lone passenger within the carriage, one of completely different circumstances than in the previous two she had ridden within. The first had been a simple escort; to provide her with the means of travel from Hargeon to Hosenka. No bells, no whistles, nothing particularly noteworthy or excitable to recall towards it. The second, her abduction; the forcible prying of her from Hosenka to the forgotten parts of the North, a cruel twist of fate that had plucked her from comfort and relaxation into strife, exhaustion, and nightmares, literal and symbolic.

Neither were like that of the carriage this time; a gift on behalf of the newest Lady within the North, Veronica Barothy. A spacious carriage, with plenty of room to allow the Demi-Human the freedom to move about if needed, with food, drink, and a few select ales included to make the trip a bit more enjoyable. Too, within it on the seat across from her sat the small crate, ornate in its design, the contents of which being ones that Vyra had yet to appreciate in her entirety. A gown, as it was described to her, a gift from the Lady Barothy herself, just one of several that had come her way in the wake of the passing of the once-Lord Barothy.

Much like this carriage was, a final parting gift to allow the Demi-Human and hero an opportunity to traverse through the lands in far greater luxury than what otherwise would have been provided. It was a welcome change, an absolute change in fortunes relative to how her experience within the North had proven to be, the smells of fruits, wine, and cheeses being a far more welcome change to that of the rough cold wilds that otherwise had come to overwhelm her senses.

It was as much a taste of what she was to return to, on her way back to Hargeon, back to Blue Pegasus and Alisa.

While the trip first planned had failed to live up to proper expectations, certainly not affording her with the enjoyment that she had first sought, it was enough time to where she felt it fine enough to return home. If nothing else, the sense of safety there, being back with her guild would help things.
