Details

Description: An elaborate hunting horn, both majestic in its appearance but also having a very haunting-like aesthetic to it. Composed of bone, its formation neither lends to any known creature nor appears to be composed of multiple entities, leaving one's imagination to wildly wander as to what sort of entity could have existed to enable the required material to craft such an instrument. A crimson-like sheen coats the interior of the horn, yet a finger run across it will find itself soaked in blood. Runic symbols line around the wide-end of the horn, red in color and seeming to radiate a faint, almost intangible glow as it's blown.

Lore: The Wild Hunt is a haunting phenomenon, what some describe as being a physical manifestation of wild frenzied hunting in which an Elven god known as the Master of the Hunt sweeps through the land with his hounds and numerous other creatures. Whenever the Wild Hunt manifested in the world it seemed as if to come from thin air, with its initial members descending from the sky. It then generally pursued its quarry by traveling across the ground, though would return to flying in order to overcome obstacles, such as especially difficult terrain. On some occasions, the weather was seen to worsen as the Wild Hunt approached, with howling winds and booming thunder.

The reason for the Wild Hunt occurring somewhere varied widely, but it always occurred at inauspicious times. Those unable to see the greater purpose of the Wild Hunt viewed the Master of the Hunt as behaving in a mindless manner, motivated by nothing but hunting itself and enjoyment of the act. According to this interpretation, the Master of the Hunt was indiscriminate in choosing his victims. Some believe the Wild Hunt would manifest itself to put an end to anyone mucking about with the conservation of nature. Legends claim, however, that those who know the proper rituals can use the Master of the Hunt's hunting horn to summon and even control a fraction of the Wild Hunt.
